Okay this is why we need a court order forbidding Stephanie Meyer from writing. After being mauled by her love interest Meyer has this character immediately forgive him and then molds her into being his little Stepford wife instead of making her emotionally traumatized and not wanting anything to do with him like a normally sane and rational person would.
