  • its so calm and peaceful, where are the people

  • Gary, i think you're awesome and your work is fantastic, a real inspirition. BUT you're driving scares me, i that we're going to hit that mini van coming around the bend! Jeese Man, slow down!

  • I love you Gary and I was viewer 333 a triple trinity...:)

  • YAy...3 is my fav number ;)

  • Gary you are never boring!

  • Yes i am Mo...all the time ;)

  • I went to the hirshon gallery and i saw a rauschenberg painting it's big. And i saw the lavender mist for pollock at the NGA. I can't see the fly or the cigerrets that suppose to be in it. I'll be putting it on youtube.

  • Great, can't wait to see that!

  • okay Gary - I have a question, How long did it take an Aussie Boy like you get used to Driving in weather like that...

  • Well it took this aussie about 4 years he he I am always nervous when i have to drive for about the first week but after that i feel better but i don't drive so much, only once or twice a week when i need to go to town to get supplies ;)

  • I need to live there so bad. I miss nature you are truly blessed. I had two ceramic studio's and they are a lot of fun.

Send me some snow. You are so brave to drive in that snow. I guess you are used to it. Thanks for your art ride journey and for the ride into town wish I was there.

    Peace

    love

    and

    Art be free Charlene

    p.s. your awesome

  • OK come on over Charlene, we have plenty of room ;) WOW u have 2 studios to play in?? Tell me more? Yeah driving in the snow can be alittle tricky but after a week of it u get use to it! ;) By the way..i might be awesome but you are AWESOMER! LOl

  • Hi Gary! Definitely count me in for the Rubbish Challenge. I'm a bit bummed about the delay, but relieved at the same time since we do have the holidays coming up.

I took about an hour and 1/2 roaming the alleyways of my neighborhood collecting what interesting rubbish I could find a couple of days ago. I'll be keeping my eye out for more!

Thanks so much for the great idea!! I hope to make it through the jury process.

    Love the snow! :) Melissa

  • Yay glad ur in Melissa...more the merrier i say! The delay is a good thing because gives time for me and others to prepare! This is going to be exciting and a great cause! ;) Always like hearing from you ;) Hope ur having a great Monday X

  • I was looking forward to the challeng i even rushed to get a canvas. I was picking garbage in the cold. Actually my mom threw them away. Bad mom. That'll take forever, it;s like waited for college letters(that was false hopes)

  • that's not fair. You get snow. Where i live, 2 hours from DC. I don't get alot. Last year a bunch of false hopes. I get stuck going to school. I like school but not that much.

  • School is cool! LOL and so is snow! ;) You will look back on your school days a lot when you get older, so treasure the time u are there..but then u wont realise what i am saying until u get to my age he he

  • hi gary i enjoyed the snowy scenery this robert r.sounds like fun id love to try i recycle all our paper and cans maybe i can get creative with my trash great idea it will be fun to see what people make haPPY THANKSGIVING love gina

  • Hey Gina...glad you want to be apart of this exciting rubbish challenge! Look forward to sharing the journey with u;)

  • I closed my eyes and dreamed I was on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow.

  • Yeah it is a bit like that! So beautiful this time of year...you get a real christmasy feel too

  • i'm definately in for the challenge

  • Brilliant, glad ur onboard! ;)

  • that's beautiful, I'm so jealous it never snows here I live in the desert, damn cacti :P

  • Yeah well the dessert can get pretty cold too just not so much snow he he he

  • yeah -.- it can lol I

  • WOW, that's a lot of snow! I remember snow like that, from growing up in Ohio, just south of Lake Eerie. *shivers* It's sooo beautiful, but, why does it have to be so COLD?! Thanks for the lovely driving tour (^_^)

I want to join the challange! I haven't made a "found objects" collage in years! I'm so excited to get involved in this fab idea!

I can't wait to see some of the other masks, too. <3

    *sparkles from France*

  • Yeah it is cold but you get use to it eventually. The first year i lived here i needed to have an electric blanket to keep me warm but now i even sleep with the window slightly open. The cold is refreshing to breathe :) Glad ur in on the challenge ;)

  • What a weather, Gary! Auch!! You, probably, miss Australia a lot these days. We also have today a little snowing in Delaware, but it's nothing compare to what you shaw!

  • Yep that is why im going home in feb for a holiday, to escape the really cold winter and get some warm hot aussie sun on my white body ;)

  • YOU, my friend, ARE NOT BORING!!

we love traveling in the car with you while riding thru the snow!!

  • He he well come on over ;)

  • We've got our own snow today in Holland, but not that much I think (and we do have a storm, very windy, a lot of damage in the country, I saw on the news).

Good idea to postponing the rubbish challenge for a bit Gary. We have a rebuilding in the house in december and during that month not that much time I'm afraid. But we should have a lot of rubbish I guess! :))

  • Rebuilding hey? in December, isn't it a little cold? he he

  • Rebuilding *inside* the house (new floors, may be 'rebuilding' isn't the right word for it?) but probable we have to leave the house on the front side for a few days, and walk around outside the house to visit the bathroom at the backside of the house ;)

  • maaaan, you live in a beautiful area, Gary. I´m jealous. totally in the forest and when you need something you just drive into the city...where you can pick up lots of TRASH, TOO! hehehe..

  • Yes i love living in the country and then going to the city to exhibit. It is like having the best of both lifestyles. ;) We love good trash he he

  • Nothin' better 'n SNOW!!!! Love it. Love it. Beautiful countryside:-)

  • Yeah you love snow right? he he he

  • Great video Gary, it is so nice to go out and about with you to see a bit of Norway. The country side there does look alot like Ontario, Canada. I am very interested in joing in on the challenge and trying something new. It will give us all a fun project to look forward to during the January blahs. So yes, count me in please!

    Wendy

  • Hi Wendy, looking forward to you joining in on the art challenge. Hopefully i will get to see canada one day, always wanted to go as i have heard it is beautiful! ;)

  • and where are you? U are driving on the right side of the road! And this freaks me out as I don't think I will ever get used to this, if I have to move one day...

  • It's not that difficult, you just need a day to practise, because when you drive on the right side, the driving-wheel is at the left side. (I've drived in Scotland years ago, they drive on the left side and have the driving-wheel at the right side, wich I'm not used to ;)

  • Yeah when i go back to australia for holidays and start driving, the first few days i need to really concentrate but soon u revert back to what you know!

  • Driving in the south of Norway! A place called Haugesund. I too was alittle freaked out about driving on the opposite side of the road but you get use to it eventually! ;)

  • Beautiful snow scene!wow!

  • Beautiful snowy scene, but you TERRIFY me the way you don't put on your wipers.

    AAARRGHH!

I don't think we are going to get that much snow...

  • yes well my wipers are noisy and i was recording and that is much more important than my safety you know! LOL

  • I am glad you are postponing the rubbish challenge for a bit! I do need more time to find some good trash! Ha! I love your snow. Man, is there anything you DON'T do? Farming and selling Christmas trees? You guys really know how to live off the land. I love it! Some of those roads in the beginning look trecharous. That was not boring!

  • Oh, just a suggestion. If you haven't done it already, you might want to update the side bar of the rubbish challenge video. It may help keep down your email questions. Speaking of email, did you get the pics I sent?

  • Yep i did get ur email..i will answer tonight ;)...am about to go milking (4:30pm here) ;)

  • Nope i pretty much do any and everything within reason he he he. Yep u will see the video of us cutting and collecting trees...i so dislike christmas because it only means more work and very long days and nights selling trees

  • I'm glad we don't use the metric system yet, We seem to get a lot more supplies for the money here, Europeaners are always so astonished when comparing a yard of fabric to a meter and the prices are about the same.

  • Oh thank you for the snow, just what I needed, inspiration for Christmas! My heart is warm thinking of you picking trees for your market. I will practice my trash art during the holidays. That was so not boring!!!

  • Ok Gary thanks keep us posted. Im sure u will. Cya "L8ER" "smile"

  • Driving through a Christmas card. Until I couldn't see - turn on the wipers! I kept wanting to reach over to turn them on. It was relaxing watching the road, listening to you and the music - WATCH OUT FOR THAT CAR! I am amazed how caught up I got in your drive and how uncomfortable I got when you were heading for that curve. It was almost impossible to keep myself from looking over my shoulder when you merged onto the main road. This is one of my favorites. This was fun and not boring at all.

  • he he he yes well if i turned on the wipers while i was recording you wouldn't have heard me so well because they are so noisy..like i said to Mary...my videoing is more important than my safety he he he...

  • Hey Gary! I really enjoyed the snowy, drive through the Norway countryside! Better you than me, though. I am ALWAYS cold, and once winter sets in, I can't seem to "thaw out" until late spring! LOL But the snow is very pretty, and I love how it looks like the pines are dressed in their winter finery! I think holding off on the Rauschenberg challenge until January is a great idea and much appreciated at least on this end! I have a family of 6 and I appreciate the breathing room. Count me in!

  • YAy your counted in!

  • beautiful scenery

  • Watching this video makes me homesick for northern Ontario (Canada). It looks just like this. I will post a video today of our snow fall. It looks really similar, except I am in southern Ontario, in the suburbs with little trees...but lots of snow.

  • This is my 4th Winter here and i just love the snow;)

  • I'd like to participate in the rubbish challenge. That's right up my alley anyway, since I do abstract collage, and often with found materials.

    That snow is beautiful!

  • Brilliant, look forward to seeing ur work for this challenge! ;)

  • wow what a beautiful drive. Thanks for sharing.
