  • Wheew did you get the EV button? I can't seem to find them anymore.

  • @maxum25 - It is just a standard pushbutton from radioshack.

  • phenomenal. thank you for uploading. i have been considering installing the kit to my car. how do you prevent the combustion engine from coming online, especially for its "warm-up phase"? do you have to be super light-footed when driving to avoid kicking it on or do you somehow kill the engine completely and get the car to rely solely on the supplemental battery?

  • @jonlulu - I installed the EV button on the dash.

  • hands on the top, uh ohh

  • Sweet! I was thinking about getting one of these kits. This is what I wanted to see. I only drive 6 miles to work so it might be perfect. The price is right too.

  • Driving down the roa-oa-oad.

  • Is the speedo in MPH or KPH, I was wondering what the acceleration was like in EV mode.

  • @bazzaus US-MPH, Canada and Mexico KPH.

  • I know this prius in this video have been upgraded

  • toyota used nickel metal battery in their vehicle´s that cannot be recycle and give the prius only few (miles) on range. Why could Toyota not use better battery?

  • Nice video, i'll get one up myself with the Gen3 soon!

  • nice video. i will PM you on the PC boards

  • Hi, how much was the kit and how much was installation ? How much was total cost to the 4kWh kit installed?

  • In EV mode, whats the top speed ? What range, in speeds like this ?

    Take care. Luís Costa.

  • @SOARESDACOSTA - Range depends on battery size. I bought a 4Kwh system so it can go about 20 miles. Top speed in pure-EV mode is 34 mph.

  • Bravo.

  • How far did you've to the school?

  • @MSIL2 - Its about 2 miles to the school.

  • You should teach you daughter how to operate the camera so you can concentrate on driving.

Also, should get her singing lessons to develop that talent. ^_^

  • @drivin98 - She can actually operate the camera, but not very well.

  • Do you do this every morning or do you have to fire up the engine to charge the battery?

  • @markhimself - I do this every morning, and every evening on my way home from work. Then I plug it in and recharge it when I get home. I drive it in EV mode most of the time around town since the speed limits in my city are mostly 30 mph. Obviously I must run the engine when I take longer trips or get on the highway.
