phenomenal. thank you for uploading. i have been considering installing the kit to my car. how do you prevent the combustion engine from coming online, especially for its "warm-up phase"? do you have to be super light-footed when driving to avoid kicking it on or do you somehow kill the engine completely and get the car to rely solely on the supplemental battery?
Sweet! I was thinking about getting one of these kits. This is what I wanted to see. I only drive 6 miles to work so it might be perfect. The price is right too.
toyota used nickel metal battery in their vehicle´s that cannot be recycle and give the prius only few (miles) on range. Why could Toyota not use better battery?
@markhimself - I do this every morning, and every evening on my way home from work. Then I plug it in and recharge it when I get home. I drive it in EV mode most of the time around town since the speed limits in my city are mostly 30 mph. Obviously I must run the engine when I take longer trips or get on the highway.
Wheew did you get the EV button? I can't seem to find them anymore.

@maxum25 - It is just a standard pushbutton from radioshack.

Hi, how much was the kit and how much was installation ? How much was total cost to the 4kWh kit installed?

In EV mode, whats the top speed ? What range, in speeds like this ?
Take care. Luís Costa.
SOARESDACOSTA 1 year ago
@SOARESDACOSTA - Range depends on battery size. I bought a 4Kwh system so it can go about 20 miles. Top speed in pure-EV mode is 34 mph.

You should teach you daughter how to operate the camera so you can concentrate on driving.
Also, should get her singing lessons to develop that talent. ^_^

@drivin98 - She can actually operate the camera, but not very well.

Do you do this every morning or do you have to fire up the engine to charge the battery?
