  • @camrhock actually you don't. if you are THat interested, you should some study into colleges that have palentoligical courses. You may want to search out west.

  • Yeah i'm curious too. Is this dig in North central new mexico? Almost looks like Ojito or White Rock near Los Alamos

  • 0.51 dont know if you're coing to collect it? Do diggers alway trow away bones if it's small? Isn't that a pitty?

  • It's not so much an issue of size as general relevance... if it's identifiable (like a tooth or something), then most of the time we will keep it.

    "Float" bone fragments (those found washed down from its original source) will usually be discarded.

    Basically it's just a matter of how important it is to hold onto. If it's an unidentifiable trace fragment, then it stays, if it's something deemed important, then either we go back to it and take it later or just pick it up as is!
