  • lol hippies and natives wont stop the oil production, they have no power or right, oil is our lifeline in modern human society, grow up and realize that

  • so that tar sand oil bad

  • Hail Stephen Harper, he is getting us out of that silly kyoto crap!!!!

  • @juzu4me You'r an ass hole!

  • In this century our oil sands are going to be the most important place on the planet. This is just the tip of the iceberg to how important the oil sands are for Canada's, not to mention the worlds energy security. Do you really think its going to be stopped by a bunch of natives? I don't think so.

  • @Scotish34 where was harper before he was in the fed conservatives? Provincial Alberta conservatives. I will shoot my mouth off, Harper is in Power NOW. He is to blame. You must feel guilty for voting for him. the liberals are just as bad, but they are not in power. so blow me.

  • Alberta is a gross province anyways, tear it all up and it wont be much uglier.

  • the Indian dude, is looking for a payoff. Perhaps a personal Casino would be sufficient ?

  • i hate this

  • Bare minimum, if we are going to do this awful shit, we should reap all the benefits. NATIONALIZATION OF THE TAR SANDS WOULD MEAN THE MONEY STAYS IN CANADA. Get the foreign companies out!

  • It is the most disgusting embarrassing blight on Canada, ever. Steven Harper should be so ashamed of himself, and so should every Canadian. I am Canadian and it makes me sick. If you are Canadian and voted for Harper, this is what you get. We are retarded

  • @Winstonclawfinger Couldn't have said it better myself!

  • The greed is totally despicable.

    TY for speaking out.

  • i know

  • Way to go Canada. You've proven, that you are no better than America is when it comes to your government. God bless America and Canada. Two of the world's most greedy countries.

  • A despicable industry, totally unsustainable environmentally if other nations start doing the same. Canada is slowly slaughtering it's native population through pollution induced cancer and setting a horrendus example for the rest of the world. I thought still exporting asbestos (which Canada still does even though it's prohibited to use within the country itself) was bad enough, but it seems Canada isn't the force of good I once believed it to be.

  • Doesn't this (at the moment) give us 3.5 million barrels of oil everyday? It's unbelievable how the tar sands area is bigger than England and it is the the second biggest producer of oil in the world. What has the world come to? :/

  • oh and kyoto is a giant joke

  • oilsands=money=prosperity=good healthcare and other public service= happy canadians. Tailings ponds can be reclaimed. all you hippies who hate oilsands... go live in a forest and dont use plastics, cars, indoor heating or anything oil provides. and enjoy life. but dont bitch about what makes canada's economic wheels turn

  • I have a Mexican Dog

  • you should use your texas oil, like the water you have lots, and LA is in the U.S.

  • Does the Alberta government own all the of the oil sand fields?

  • Comment removed

  • see how the americans bye harper,. and without a fight from canadians just walk in and throw money on the table and take what ever they want.Next it will be our water as long as we harper in power which is bought. When all is poisoned then who can eat money you have heard that before somewhere.it will be soon be Almareica harper on his stars and striped horse.KIssing the ass of an americian president

  • @msclaude1234 we have enough water (at least michigan does........we have no need for canuck water) maybe LA and the rest of california might want some.......let em die of thirst.....

  • Yes he uses a plane, it would take him days by canoe or horse to make it alll the way down to Edmonton for his job, which is likely to fight the oil sands development. I would say he's less of a hypocrite than most.

Also the technology required to extract oil from the oil sands doesnt seem like something the idians would have, any oils they used to seal canoes would have been fat oils from animals, or plant oils.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Mr. Native American, the plane you fly uses oil. Frigen noob is using oil and complaining about the extraction of it.

  • UOIT ENVIRO SCI!!!!

  • Not a short term thing, the will of God and the descendants! Canadian investment in other countries it should be banned!

  • Not a short term thing, the will of God and the descendants

  • I'd like to point out that the Native Americans used the oil sands for hundreds of years for things like their canoes .

  • @Quionic7 canoes don't use oil...ur so noob

  • @joeymountain

You clearly don't know much then, back then (and even today) they used oil to make their canoes waterproof.

  • the impact is marginal... a lot of these environmentalists and activists scream bloody murder but its a marginal impact.... the thing that gets me is how they all say go green and use solar/wind power. i would love to set up some solar panels and power my whole house with them... problem is no one i know has the money to buy them. everything is too expensive and the cheapest solution is to just keep doing what im doing... bumming off the grid.

  • There isn't much we can do. Yes we could stop oil production BUT then obviously our economy would just go down in a flash and then instead of being bombarded with the U.S.A complaining about the pollution were creating they would be complaining about their lack of oil. We are stuck with having to choose between putting food on the table or saving the wolfs in the forests. But first comes first and I'm sure that most of us would rather feed our family than save the planet. Sad but true.

  • @ittybittyblanka uhhhh, duhhhh, "most of us would rather feed our families than save the planet", uhhh, duhhhh, are you fucking EINSTEIN or what? And you think it's sad that most of us would rather feed our own families than save the planet? Uhh, duhhhh, well if it's sad then why don't you let your family starve and just send your cash overseas to some quacky organization that wants to shut down the tar sands?? Wow, you are the one who's a fucking brain of a redneck, sir. Have a nice dayyyyyyee

  • Comment removed

  • if you want enviro friendly oil sand extraction, look at the way cenovous engery does it

  • ACID RAIN!!!

  • Id like to see the environmentalist go up to some kids and say We shut down the oilsands, so your daddy doesn't have a job, so you are going to have to live outside now.

  • @cheesedude24 I'd like to see the Oil Execs and Canadian politicians and Tar Sands workers answer to their great grandchildren when asked by them how come there is no natural forest left, how come it is so hot all the time, how come all the land is so polluted and the water is unfit to drink, how come the air is dirty, how could you do this and pass on this burden to us?

  • :O

  • These Enviromentalist a really dumb. And I can prove it.

The allberta oilsand is just a collaped oil well. Try this, take a ballon filled with oil and bury it in a sand box and then pop the ballon. Now the sand is contaminated. And the upper layers of sand and dirt fall into the oil ball.

Its going to leak into the river, it doesn't matter if you shut down the alberta oilsands project.

I believe in helping the world. But people are being dumb about it.

The oil company is cleaning it up.

  • @jpawhees

Are you for real the oil company is cleaning it up .....wake up there covering it up maybe is more like it...dont be a sheep people are getting sick, dieing because of this its a threat to our way of life its down right sicking.

  • @meandmyneo Uh yah I am for real. The information I provided is bassed on actual science knowledge and is not influenced by the media or oil companies. the oil sands will still leak into the river even if there was never an oilsands project to begin with.

The most probable reason why your people are feeling sick is probly because you are drinking water with to much bacteria in it. Your drinking water straight from the river without having the water at boiling point for at least 10 minutes.

  • @meandmyneo If a moose carcus ends up in the river upstream. If you do not boil the water for at least 10 minutes. You will risk getting sick from the water. and I know for a fact that many native reserves drink directly from the river without at least boiling it.

Even not bathing for 1-2 months can make someone feel sick.

But I do side with on the part of that the oil sands project might be increasing the amount of oil that goes into the river if they are not folling proper procedures.

  • @meandmyneo All I haft to say in the end is that there are to many variables to say its the oil alone that is making the natives in the area sick.

Being exposed to the outdoor elements for a days, weeks, years can also make you sick.

Quick history lession: North american natives are the only people in the world to be compensated for having their "land" invaded and taken over. No other people in the world get this privelage. And the free money u get from my taxes. Just to be lazy all day.

  • @jpawhees That is completely untrue. Australian Aboriginals are compensated in the exactly the same way, for exactly the same reasons, and to the same degree- for having had their land and culture completely taken out by incoming colonists of the day. In those days, in Australia, they were penal colonies from England. Again, try again. You obviously don't know much about anything.

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer Ok. Lets say if china where to invade my country, and take it over. I highly doubt I would ever get compensated for them taking over the land I live on and destroying my country values, beliefs and religions. They don't haft to compensate me for anything if they choose not to. It may make them look bad. But thats if they don't care of what the world thinks of them.

Black people sure as hell don't get compensated for being brought over here and turned into slaves.

  • @jpawhees I wasn't arguing a point, I don't know why you are, I was simply correcting you in saying there is another place where the aboriginals are fully compensated and provided for financially as restitution for having been displaced by the settlers, other than just Alberta. You said Alberta was the only place on Earth. You are wrong.

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer Yes I am wrong. About north americian natives being the only ones getting compensated. I got a little carried away.

But I never said just the natives in Alberta, you did. I said North Americian Natives. Thats the natives in Canada and the U.S.A..

  • @jpawhees my friend, it wont matter what you think unfortunatley..or the public wont care to learn the facts..greenpeace is very tricky at convincing people that something is pure evil through propaganda..all they need is a few contemporary movie stars or performers to jump onboard..ive seen it happen in eastern canada with the seal hunt protests....but im sure that billion dollar oil companies are in a better position to fight back than 1500 sealers.

  • @wizwow77 The only reason why I defend oil is because I was thinking the other day. What would happen if a lava (magma) vein suddenly went into a untapped oil well thats under ground? If the vein was big and hot enough. I think the oil would go kabooma.Blowing junks from our planet into outerspace. And possibly killing all life on earth as we know it.Depending on the amount of the oil.I think this can probly be proven by using a sealed crude oil filled can and stick a large heating element in it.

  • @jpawhees i wouldnt lose sleep over that happening..the oil has been there for millions of years and it hasnt exploded yet..i dont think there is any volcanic activity in alberta....i moved to alberta because the oil companies are paying big money here. and they couldnt find enough workers..so no one can tell me i dont have a right to be here....i dont agree with destroying the earth.but if i dont work here someone else will...the attitude of some people here sucks but a guy can make money.

  • @wizwow77 it wouldn't happen in the alberta tar sands. to much dirt. It would probly just smolder for a long time. But I was talking about a undiscovered oil well like in the middle of the ocean. Exactly no oil wells have exploded YET. But I could happen. and the earth recycles its rock. The oil wells slowly go lower into the earth over time.

But i'm going to lose sleep over it.

i live in alberta as well.

  • @jpawhees Above the tar sands lives, or used to live, the Boreal Forest. You are aware of this, right? How is it possible that the tar sands are toxic in their previous natural, contained state, if not far above them was a flourishing ecosystem with surrounding aboriginal communities living successfully off of the land for thousands of years without sickness or cancer, until now. You're premise is totally false. Thanks for playing though.

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer How is it proven they lived without sickness or cancers? Just because the natives say so, means dick shit to me.

You also forgot to mention the layers upon many layers of solid compacted dirt seperating the forest from the oil sands. Oil does not fight gravity. They had to dig over 300 feet to get to the tar. Big trees and whatnot can flurish on top of closed garbage dumps that have been closed for 50 years with maybe 60 feet of compressed dirt on top just fine.

  • @jpawhees You are the only person I've ever heard to say that the oil already in the sand is an environmental problem, and that by us digging it out, we are actually providing a service to nature. Show some proof, some links or something, please, because I'm having hard time imagining this to have any kind of truth to it.

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer if we left the oil alone in the 1st place it would of been ok. but since the forest is allready gone. the oil companies mise as well finish up. cause if they are suddenly forced to shut down. they will leave the oil sands the way they are currently. creating a enviroment issue. since the oilsand are exposed to the world. where as before when the forest was there. the oil was seperated from the rest of the world and the local area.

  • Learn how to speak idiot.

  • The fact that Canada relies so heavily on oil production is a sign of weakness in our economy

  • Fucking hippies making videos about things they don't understand.

  • I love all of these native people talking about how bad the oil sands are for their "way of life", but let me tell you what they don't talk about. The "indigenous people" of the area of Wood Buffalo reap the benefits more than anyone else! There is a whole group of aborigional business groups here that make SO much money because of oil.

  • I live in fort mcmurray this is total crap that street they showed was off of thickwood bulvd. and thats the only street with big homes on it. most people in fortmcmurray live in trailers and apartments including me.

this is total crap and lies.

if you dont live there dont knock it. canadas economy runs off of the oil sands.

  • Oil equals POWER!!! Canada is going to become the richest and most powerful country on earth. Those damn ducks have hundreds of thousands of kilometres of land to hang around in, yet they're stupid enough to land in a basin of gooo. Hey, nature weeds out the stupid---hail the Alberta oil industry and more power to CANADA

  • @juzu4me lmao..you sound like a red neck.

  • It's not AMERICA! It's the U.S.A. Get it right people...

  • ok from know on if your not from Alberta your not allowed to say anything about the oil sands u dont live here and so u dont actually know whats going on so quit running your mouth. To straighten things out yes he oil sands do pollute more than some other methods. No the affected area is not the size of Florida thats just the size of the area with the tar sands the actual mines cover only a very tiny faction of the area. Yes there have been environmental problems but not like the gulf.

  • I hate that we've let all these other countries in to take our energy while our gas prices are more than the 1's we send it too !!! Like what the fuk !!!! I hate our government and how they do nothing but make themselves and their friends money !!!

  • Ya know Alberta really isn't a bad place to live.

@Mrjust86 I live in Calgary and we are not rednecks and we are definatly NOT snobbish, I just can't see how you could think that.

  • I am opposed to the oil sands, but I also realize that North America in general relies heavily on the fuel produced their. We should be using the profits from the oilsands to fund development of alternative energy sources. As for people claiming calgary is a racist and "redneck" city, this is an outdated stereotype. Its like americans thinking all canadians live in igloos and chug maple syrup. Most of the racism I've seen has been in rural areas, unfortunately, all over the country.

  • This is awful. Penn Trust, Exon and the major International funds uses almost 1/4 of the land of Alberta to extract in the most disgusting way "oil". Who cares about the salary there. Have you ever try to buy a home up there ( for 350 000$) fort Mcc. you have a shitty house. Everything is expensive. Your salary is diualated up there, there is no sense. It's a shame that Alberta chose to let go the company there. One of the most wonderful river is there and none of kids will now have the chance

  • Tired of hearing all these aholes. From Suziki touring the country in his diesel bus to Gore making millions with his pollution credits to Cameron's gallant return to his birthplace aboard his private jet. They all look down there noses at the oilsands. Why? Because Canada's the only place they can spew their crap without getting punched out (or worse). Try this in China or Saudi. US coal plants spew 60x more pollution than the oilsands (China OMG!) In other words they can all go pound sand!

  • Natives are the last people that should ever talk about the destruction of the land, they are the destruction of their own people for Gods sake. Without the oilsands money natives would actually have to work and join civilization. Google Hobbema, or Enoch Alberta, they have recieved well over 350 million dollars from the government and there is not one house there with a window left in it, that is the real disaster in Alberta and the ONLY thing that should affect tourism.

  • Canada Chokes off labor in other provinces to give people no other choice than to fill the demand needed to keep this dirty profitable industry running.

  • @gosg21111 you have no fucking idea what your talking about, i hope you know that virtually everything u own would not be here if we didnt have oil, u use it in your car... it lubricates the machines that create all products u use... stop being a sheep and do your own research about the oil sands, maybe look at all the jobs that would be lost. ever think that maybe the closure of a MASSIVE operation like that would do to the already frail economy... dont talk about wut u dont understand...

  • @gosg21111 Canada isn't chocking anyone. Its just the oil industry pays so well and its just your grade 10 or something to work on the rigs or in the sands. Thats why theirs a huge population working for oil.

More of a demand = more employees

  • @gosg21111 your a dumbass. people come to alberta because canada is in a recession and THERE ARE NO JOBS. and fort mcmurray has alot of jobs. i live in alberta and its even getting hard to get jobs here

  • Lets try to grasp the concept of power. People want power, some more then others. Power comes with money. The biggest money generating industry in the wolrd= energy/Oil. By luck, there is a lot in Alberta. Who has the most power in canada = the governement and private oil industries. Who wants to be more powerfull= them. At the cost of others. Albertas entire social structure is corrupt by the money comming from oil. People have money = comfort = indiference= dont want tosee the big picture.

  • @L0A0B Hmmm I disagree with what you have to say about Albertans but I'll leave it at that.

  • care has to be taken, with the environment, but the work will go on.stop saying stop the oil sands, cos you are wasteing your breath! but a better way is to look at ways of cutting the affect of pollution, maybe new ways of mineing which have a less impact on the land, but you can rant and rage untill you are blue in the face, aaaa anyways i need a job!

  • Actual comment "i feel the animals health is effected" no you don't feel you prove. PROVE to me that the oil sands are HARMING the animals don't say you feel.

If the world is gonna bitch about the fucking oilsands, FIRST solve the fuckin oil problem. Then fucking Bitch.

World has no say in this any who... You all fucking pollute. Even me.

    So no say.

You other countries don't even know what it's like.

  • @TheVideoontrial good comment,

  • Actual comment "i feel the animals health is effected" no you don't feel you prove. PROVE to me that the oil sands are HARMING the animals don't say you feel.

If the world is gonna bitch about the fucking oilsands, FIRST solve the fuckin oil problem. Then fucking Bitch.

  • @TheVideoontrial

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that clear cutting, water pollution and overall destruction of massive amounts of land all have an effect on the flora and fauna of said region.

Raising awareness of potential dangers of projects like this is what gets people thinking and brainstorming for solutions in the first place.

  • @bakaga86 Yeah i agree with you, just that they point the finger at alberta when really, look at the coal mines, i'm sure that has a major impact on the environment.

well, just not cool of the world to point fingers at poor canada. We've done so much and all the worlds given us is the middle finger. Thanks world love you too.

  • @bakaga86

So what do you propose? We buy our oil from terrorist countries? Unless you have an idea of what Alberta should do regarding the oil sands you can't really have an opinion.

  • She can see the tarsands from the moon?

  • dude we can take over canada with our reserves lol hahhahahhah

  • Want to get rid of the Oilsands? Get rid of the demand for oil. Otherwise it will continue forever and ever

  • So what if you destroy or stripmine the landscape for oil. its money! move the dirt to the coast after its refined, and extend the border.

  • @severnmdman great comment !! canada is the best!!

  • its fort chip fighting this but yet your using fort mckay images when the people here don't care all they want is the money!!!

  • Oilsands development is land rape, sick white people

  • @ShiiietSonSKATE Hey I am white and I don't in believe in what they are doing with the oil sands. I believe it is a catastrophe what they are doing to the land and what they are planning for the future of northern Alberta. Maybe we should point are finger at the individuals who are doing this to the land instead of using such a blanket statement as blame the whites, that acomplishes nothing. Plus when you blame a race for the mistake of the few it is called racism, it goes both ways!

  • @ShiiietSonSKATE I work at the oil sands in alberta. Syncrudes site covers 1/10 of a percent of the Forest...so no its not land rape. Don't listen to the media. All of the land disturbed is recovered and Syncrude has it's own seperate unit that brings the area back to what it use to be. People only hear what they want to hear, and that is unfortunate.

  • @ShiiietSonSKATE

    Terrorist supporter!

  • America always criticizes Canada for the tar sands and its effects on the environment and how global warming is "canadas fault" but the United States has no problem what so ever draining every last drop of oil from Alberta...daarn right again

America is so superficial its pathetic

they scream at Canada for the tar sands effect on the environment but they need every single litre of Canadian oil to keep their American cars on the road

in fact USA is the environments worst enemy not canada

  • fuck the americans. we shouldnt be dealing with them. that country is not as it was nor as it appears to be today. there are special interests that have taken control of key positions to enact policy changes that open the flood gates to conflicting interests, monopolization, private interests tapping into the public treasury all in the name of the "recession" right. I dont buy it, i didnt buy 9/11, i didnt buy Iraq, i wont buy Iran, and i dont buy 4/20/10 (hitler day & bp oil day) either

  • I was in Alberta last month, I Found there was alot of racism and drunks, the roads weren't kept up to shape, the economy looks like shit except for the oil part, but there's to many rude raciest rednecks out there. I did not like alberta one bit, the ETS is a joke and I can go on but, I feel bad for the natives out there that have to deal with these people.

  • @DrSatan187 Glad you hate it here! hope to never see you! Your a freak. crawl back to mommies basement! Losser!

  • @MrKLOVANSKY great comment, im liveing in england at the moment, waiting ,or trying to get work in the oilsands as drillers helper or labourer, and then im comeing home, but i read your comment and nearly fell off my chair, really funny made me laugh

  • Respond to this video... #

bad for the enviroment! but good for the economy!maybe look at ways of less poluting but very good if you have a job and a family!but im liveing in england at the moment and its shit here! im trying to get a job in the oil sands im canadian and if i get offerd a job as drillers helper or labourer ill be there like a rat up a drainpipe!to feed my family is more important to me than anything, any contact numbers for a job anyone?

  • @DrSatan187 it's not perfect..but there is lots to see here..if you don't like it here then don't come back..we get enough tourists without having to worry about you guys

  • @DrSatan187 what the fuck r u talking about i am from and live in edmonton alberta u can go fuck your self where u from the shity states?

  • @DrSatan187 Ummmm The natives are the ones who create the problem. Natives don't help improve their image when they are all drunk and homeless and bothering the rest of Alberta. Don't feel bad for the Natives, feel bad for the people that have to live around the natives.

  • @DrSatan187 What the hell town were you in?

  • @DrSatan187 agreed i was in calgary last summer and found that city to have alotta rednecks too mostly preppy ignorant snobs and its expensive as fuck out there lol sure the wages are higher but the cost of living is ridiculous the hispanic and black ppl i met there were cool tho

  • @MrJust86 you are an awful person

  • @nynowow why am i an awful person?

  • its only canada keep up the good work.

  • @xxconaxx360 LOL we are the largest oil and power supply to the US, so bow down to us bitch. Without us you are all fucked.

  • @Rushworshiper92 hey fuck rush their all gay. canada sucks IT BIG TIME. you might supply the us with oil and energy but guess what once your country is all dry will move on to the next.

  • @xxconaxx360 HAHA Rush are gay? yeah thats why they are 3rd for record sales behind the Beatles and the Rolling stones. Also Canada has enough oil for thousands of years and by the time we run out of oil the US will be nothing but a poverty landscaped shittland so have fun with your quickly dying country. Also you can't spell worth shit, but it's ok cause you are American so I understand.

  • @Rushworshiper92 rush can be number 1 worldwide they still suck

  • @xxconaxx360 Says you and 5 other people.

  • @Rushworshiper92 Lol, your an incompetent red neck lol who thinks you know it all, you act like a typical american lol go fuck your cousin with your alcoholic dad while listening to country.

    By the way.

It seem's like your brain is doing mental gymnastics to protect your ego, go to school kid and have a proper world view, not just what you see on tv and in the movies and by your red neck friends.

  • @DrSatan187 Um first of all Im Canadian, second I hate country music, third Im done school, I WORK at Syncrude you fucking retard. I don't listen to the media I find things out on my own And I know how things go down in the Canadian Oil Sands because I fucking Work there you fucking idiot.

  • @Rushworshiper92 Your still to incompetent to understand what I was saying, I know you are Canadian but "you act like an American" I don't know if you understand English because most rednecks never got proper schooling in Alberta. And the reason why you work with Snycrude is because you diden't go to school and get a real job that pays real money that takes real skill. Get a life you alcoholic red neck and go back to school so you can have an educated opinion on things not just a redneck view.

  • @DrSatan187 HAHAHA Maybe some small towns are "red neck" but for the most part Alberta is not red neck. And why do you think I need to go back to school? Im an Electrical Apprentice, and that takes skill, Im surprised you are Canadian cause the stuff you say is normaly what I hear from a yank. You are a joke man a real joke lol.

  • @Rushworshiper92 Lol, 1st you work in Snycrude and now Electrician, wow you are a typical lier witch all rednecks do to protect there ego's, as well they are ignorant and hypocritical and you are the perfect example!

I think your brain is doing mental gymnastic's to protect your ego again, see a councilor and go to university you primitive red neck.

  • @DrSatan187 Are you for real? or are you just really dumb? I work at Syncrude as an electrician you idiot, they need electricians to keep the plants going duhhh!. You are just kidding right? are you trying to look like you are stupid cause you are doing a good job.

  • @xxconaxx360 By the time my country is dry, there will be no USA anymore, soooo lets sit back and wait to see which comes first. Then one of us can laugh at the other. Probably be me laughing at you standing in the street begging, starving, with your family, with personal belongings amounting to the clothes on your back, if your allowed to keep them. By the way, which brand of people are most hated on earth? Oh yeah, Americans! Probably why half the world is waiting to kill you! LOL

  • horrible

  • Hey this is our country. I know it is a problem, and i do agree. But its our problem. Not yours. So please America, stay out of it unless we realy do need help.

  • weres the faggot anti alberta commercial the burger eating, redneck americans made?

  • @themw2montager Check under the heading....'Hypocritical American Fucktards'!!

  • 0:14

that's a marijuana leaf shopped to look like a maple leaf, not a maple leaf

  • @stubs13 ahaha omg it is!!!

  • Environment is important.

But in my opinion, it will be almost laughable if Canada simply ignores the massive resources that can change the future of the country in this capitalist world.

So I think they need to find a way to help the people who were affected and in the same time try to improve the environment for the native people.

  • @skyscraper03 It's nice to think it's possible to be environmentally conscious in this sort of thing. But, were talking about a strip mine the size of florida. There is no conscious environment/sustainable thought to this. It's about making money and lots of it. What happens when the oil sands run out five, ten even fifteen years from now? It's going to take thousands, if not more, to even start thinking about repopulating/reforesting. Is it really worth it? Short gain, longterm destruction.

  • "Only when the last tree has been cut, the last fish has been caught and the last river has been poised that we will realize that we cannot eat money." One step closer every day.

  • the oil sands are a great investment, and we need to keep them up and moving. the environment supporters need to shut up and move out of the country to Africa or some place like that. The oil sands provide jobs and a great economy. and we can fix the environment later.

  • @videomanwipf You are the problem.

  • To my fellow ppl who hate our oil patch, until further notice, you will no longer be allowed to drive your cars, change your oil, and heat your homes. And dont worry,,, when your flipping hamburgers at McDonalds, my oil patch buddies and I are making more in one year than you make in 3. And when you cant afford a taxi ride down town my buddies and I are drinking tequila in Mexico. BLAM!!!

  • @dasani7998 Ignorance and money is bliss I guess. Good for you folks reality will kick in shortly.

  • I love how people complain about the sands, but if we stop digging there, everyone will get pissed because oil prices will get REALLY high. Plus I live up in Northern Alberta and it would be too difficult to live without the oil (transportation/trade, heat, etc).

    STFU PEOPLE

  • @Quionic7 Reasons of an addict.

  • @Crustanarchy

Come live up in Alberta (and North from there) for a couple years and tell me you wont need that kind of stuff.

  • @Quionic7 amen borther

  • @dasani7998 Oh and all currencies are tied to the dollar, if you don't get that... do some more research.

  • @Quionic7 I personally don't think people should live there if it's unsustainable, but I 'm not going to force my opinion upon everyone. I agree you couldn't live up there (nor here in Chicago, some of these winters and summers get brutal at times) without oil. Though history proves you and I wrong. Natives have lived up there, though in tiny numbers, without fossil fuels.
