  • Just like with every bread video I start from the end to see what it looks like. This is the first video that I went back and watched it all! Looks DELICIOUS! I'm making this soon.

  • I made that bread it was great!!!

  • I'm glad it doesn't need eggs I'm out

  • wow thanks for the recipe. It worked out great and was delicious.

  • yummy

  • my loaves came out smaller than those and I followed the recipe

  • american style french loaf...whats that...lol

  • @bowler8 haha I thought the exact same thing. This is a good video though.

  • Just made this bread and it was delicious. Thanks for the post. This will definitely become a regular feature on our menu!

  • will you marry me?

  • It looks delicious!

  • Excellent video, just what I was looking for.

    Thanks.

  • Bread flour? What's that?

  • Just watched the how-to video and very impressed with the simplicity of it. I wanted to know if I can substitute the Bread Flour with the White Whole Wheat Flour? Thank you!!

  • Beautiful!!!!! thanksssss

I will try to make it and see what I get! I love bread..I have a question though... the bread that I buy from any bakery has a sour taste to it..specially the crust and I dont like that.. how do I avoid making my bread taste that way?? thanks

  • hey i liked your video!!! but can u tell me how can i just make one loaf of bread cause that's all i need. i been looking for a video for just that one loaf. and i will like to use your video if u have one on that. thank you!!!!

  • i love your video but i wish you wrote the recipe down, so i could read it.

  • @mikefezz It is written down! It's on my food blog here "La Fuji Mama." If you google "La Fuji Mama Simple One Hour Homemade Bread" it will come up! (sorry, YouTube won't let me post the link here in the comments for some reason...)

    Cheers!

  • @mikefezz Just wanted to let you know that I added the link to the video description!

  • I made this, it was very good. All the other recipes I watch generally take a long time. I do not think they are much different than yours, maybe they are just over thinking it. Regardless, besides me not shaping it properly, it was pretty much how yours turned out I am assuming. I did not even have to use a bread pan and I thought you always did, it just kept it's general shape regardless. I think I will make my bread this way from now on, although I may use the bread pan for sandwich bread.

  • i dont have d mixer tht u r using to d d mixing.. i hav a regular blender with many blades, none useful for this( or so i think?).. cn i do it in tht one too?

  • thank you!!!! :)

  • i tried it, great result, i can honestly say its as good as bakery bread.

  • Dawnmariegrasso-- Good luck!!

  • my great grandmother used to make homemade bread but i was to young to learn how to make it iam going to give it a shot let you know how it comes out well im from nj so i guess i dont really need to add extra water to my dough because it is fall here

  • Dawnmariegrasso -- If you use another type of flour, the end texture will be different. Different flours have different amounts of gluten in them, which produce different results for different purposes! Yes, SAF Instant Yeast is just my favorite kind of yeast. I find that it is the most economical yeast choice available where I am, it stays fresh for a long time in the fridge, and produces reliable, consistent results!

  • whatayawant -- The diagonal lines are so that you can read the measurement markings from above instead of always having to get down and look at your liquid level from the side.

  • mclber359: You can get the recipe on my blog! "Simple One Hour Homemade Bread" on lafujimama (dot) com.

  • could i use all purpose flour instead of bread flour? and the yeast that you use in this vidoe is it the same as instant yeast?

  • Just wondering.....what are the diagonal lines on your measuring cup for?

  • I just used your recipe. It was my first time making bread... It turned out EXCELLENT!!!! THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.

  • You should write the rescipe in the description box :)

  • Thank you GabySakura79 for clarifying! It's hard that there are different names for the same types of flour in other countries!

lackofcoolname: The flour used is bread flour (or hard flour, like gabySakura79 pointed out, depending on your country). if you use another type of flour, the end texture will be different. Different flours have different amounts of gluten in them, which produce different results for different purposes!

  • Thank you ElijahGo for pointing this out.

  • Very nice video!!

To everybody: The right bread flour is the hard one!! This is useful to make donuts, pizza dough, cinnamon rolls, pie crust and profiteroles.

The soft flour is for cakes, cupcakes and cream filled rolls.

I hope this can be useful.

Regards to all from Guatemala C.A

  • I was wondering what type of flour you used.

Would the amount change if I were to use a different type of flower?

  • @lackofcoolname: There´s two kind: The hard one and the soft one; the hard one is to make bread, pizza dough, donuts, cookies, cinnamon rolls and pie crusts; the soft is to make cakes, cupcakes and cream filled rolls.

Don´t use the soft to make bread because it have different amount of gluten!! And you will have a gluish dough.

I hope it can be useful for you

    Regards Gaby

  • So sorry: When I said hard flour it means strong bread flour!! My mistake!!

  • I don't know the difference between regular flour and bread flour so can I make this using all purpose flour?? I mean is it gonna taste the same?

  • that looks like french toast

  • Cool

  • Great Video!!!

Darlene197 should have kept her water comments to herself as she obviously either lives in a house that was built in the fourties or knows nothing about plumbing. As for the bottled wateris concerned, it has been proven that bottled water is no better to consume than tap water. Again, "Thanks" for the video, the bread looks great!!!!

  • I love homemade bread.

It's 1000-times better than that one from a grocery store.

  • Wat kinda of flour do u use?

  • Why not use your dough hook?

  • One does not need bottled water to prevent the lead contamination.

Hot water seeps lead out of the pipes.

cold water does not do this.

  • why do you make cuts in the bread?

  • @joozyfrut For a couple of reasons! First, to give a beautiful visual appearance. Second, this scoring allows the dough to expand quickly during baking so it reaches its maximum volume. It also prevents a ‘blow out’ from happening if bubbles appear under the crust and then burst.

  • Hot water out of the tap has lead contamination from the pipes.

  • @Darlene197 If you're worried about lead contamination, you can always use bottled water!

  • @lafujimama All I have to say is this:

Awesome instructions, my bread is good. I have abscessed teeth and it did not kill me to eat this bread LOLOLOLOL Like that means anything but... anyway.

Lead Contamination is for the birds. There are worse things that you consume from the air than the water you drink, so people need to learn to live life as they can. You only live once. Burn those fossil fuels. Drink the leaded water. Use the leaded gas. Kill EVERYTHING!!! *cough* err... ya not really..

  • @Darlene197 only in a very old house.......use a water filter

  • @Darlene197 Pipes today are not made out of lead nor do they contain lead base materials in them. If you have lead pipes or lead contaminants in your pipes, I suggest you hire a lawyer and sue the hell out of your builder.

  • This was an awesome easy recipe. Thank you so much.

  • i love bread alot i allways eat my food with it ,,that was realy helpfull for me to start cooking bread at home cause i never did that before,,,thank you

  • breiningac-- The beauty of this recipe is you can form it into whatever shape you want! Boule, baguette, loaf, rolls, etc. Anytime you add a 2nd a rise the bread is bound to be better because you are developing the flavors, but then again it's not one hour bread anymore! LOL I'm so glad you are enjoying the recipe.

  • I have been making this bread since I last commented and never again bought bread at the store, but I added 2 techniques to make this bread go through the roof!

1st, after it rises for 25 mins, I deflate it and knead for a minute and let it rise a second time (in a loaf pan).

2nd, when it is baking, every 5 minutes I open the oven and respray with the water bottle about 6-7 sprays. This gives a beautiful, blistery golden brown crust.

    Definitely give these a try!

  • It came out GREAT!!! Will make again! Thanks alot. I will never buy bread at the store ever again!

  • Oh phew! Thanks for letting me know!

  • lol I tried making it today. Its rising now but when I made the dough it was SUCH A MESS!! Not sure what happened. I halved the recipe to make just 1 loaf, but when the mixer was done with the 5 minures it was a sticky mess. I kneaded in about another 2 cups of flour to make it workable. I prolly screwed it up, who knows. I hope it still tastes good, lol.

  • Is there a difference between using that mixing extension versus a dough hook?

  • Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. I will give it a try and let you know how I do. I like the fact you are tight for time and still can bake homemade bread.

  • NICE
