Th reason why they showed the supporting footage was to exemplify the authenticity of the events the movie was based on. The director wanted to show the events supposedly in real life simultaneously with the acting. It honestly wasn’t distracting in the least bit. I have my doubts on this film as well, but your review merely criticized the most simplistic aspects of the movie that really weren’t a problem. Nice try, though.
