I didn't know so much cool stuff happens in Kansas. I'm a little bit skeptical of gentically altered foods but if its to bring us back to our agricultural roots then I say go for it.
That's a totally important concern about genetically altered foods. I have the same concern-- but not with the Land Institute. They do a kind of forced but natural cross-pollination between just the right plants that they want to propagate, then test the results using genetic testing methods, then grow only the plants that contain the traits that they want to see go further. At least that's how I think they do it. I think that it falls under the category of "Organic" when they're done. Clever!
