  • You guys have got it down - that old time feeling - and a REAL rhythm section.

  • GREAT! It isn't often you find a drummer who can accent the lead instrument and lay off the snare. Woot!

  • Guys I am floored!! Just was getting hooked on My Babe- LW and found you guys. One guy said it best....you sound so VINTAGE. If this was in black and white it would sound and look like 1958- respectifully~! WOW. any CDs? maybe a live show taping?

  • One of the few bands who does covers that I like listening to...

  • Beautiful playing. You' ve probably been asked that question a million times, but hell... how do you get that tone? What microphone are you playing through in this video?

  • Try a green bullet.

  • Absolutely brilliant, I'm so glad people still make music like this!

  • Great sound...I'm looking forward to more videos!

  • muy bueno !!!

  • Great job! Do you think you could give me a quick run down of the guitar Chord progression in the I, IV, V language? Thanks!

  • Find out the chords used in Stormy Monday, and you have the chords they are using here.

  • You guys have got the blues in your veins!! 5*

  • U gotz that LW shit down pat my man.

No doubt about it. Beautiful stuff.

Much to the club owners discust...I used

to get that "low attendance" reverb thang

a little too often. Then when we know that

we aint never playin there again, we turn

up to 10 and play SRV songs...LMAO

  • just a little reverb i here

  • There's no reverb ... It's called a low attendance ... leaves alot of space in the room for sound to bounce around in

  • hello!!!

do you have the tags to play fast boogie on harmonica?

do you konw a webpage in which i can reed little walter´s tags?

    thanks

  • What kind of amps does "Boom boom" use to get that sound. I know it's not all the amp because he's a phenomenal player, but i'm curious. He's got that Little Walter sound down pat!

  • Bharath "Boom Boom" Kumar is usin' a 1954 National "tremotone" ... and thanks ... Im glad you can dig our stuff ...

  • very cool ampn do you know the mic.

    tommyx harp and sax

  • fantastic guys! very tight and great job on the harp!

I have never heard any closer than the Man hisself.

  • I am sick of clicking on a title in Youtube that says 'Little Walter' or 'Paul Butterfield' (for example)

expecting to see those artists playing, and finding out it isn't rare archival footage- just another Schmuck or Boob playing their music. This is a fine version, but LEAVE their names OUT if you aren't posting THEM playing!!

  • Yes well I can see by your list of favorites that you spend alot of time checking for those kinds of things on you tube ... I apologize that there isnt more archival footage of Walter but then again that's why I cleverly used the apostrophe and followed it up with an S ... so as not to claim the song as my own, ... thanks for watching

  • Yes, the apostrophe S works and makes sense. Keep it up, keep playin' and postin'. Your band sounds and looks great. Do you guys do "Roller Coaster" and/or "Key to the Highway"?

  • Thanks, Yes we do ... Ill try to record it for you this Friday ...

    B

  • ...It looks and sounds sooo smooth, thats why its sooo GOOD...You can tell the group is together...the blend is just right, like Kessler, smooth as SILK... they make it look EASY, but its NOT...

  • I want these guys to buy the house next door to me!

    Dr. Dixon "The Blues Physician"

  • Are you lot american,if so where are you based?

  • Montreal , Canada

  • You said in a previous comment that for this song your diatonic Marine Band has been prewar "just" tuned...what does that mean?

  • ... up until after the war when Hitler removed the star of David from the back of all hohner harmonicas , the harmonicas produced were tuned differently to be actually more correct to the human ear ...

  • Quite a while after the war, they changed the tuning to even temperament A440, to be more correct to the tuning of a piano, the old records you hear Walter playing on, he is playing this earlier tuning, it's not much different in terms of how flat the notes are , but it takes getting used to,

  • however it makes the harmonica a lot easier to play and a lot less likely to break reeds because the overall tension on the reed is less ... it' also gives a raspier (meaner)tone to your side to side tongue vibratos and or 4/5 trill ... the disadvantage being, that they don't make em like that so you have to either pay someone to tune them , like I do, or do it yourself if you're not too busy playin' ...

  • Wow, I never heard of "retuning" a diatonic harmonica...how is it done?? I love that raspier, fatter tone you get on your vibratos!

  • Thanks man , it's done very very carefully as I understand it haha ... with a very fine file, file the front to make it sharp or file the back of the reed to make it flat, I haven't taken the time to perfect the tuning part , believe me, I actually got into the prewar tuning thing because I was lucky enough to win7 prewar marine bands on ebay and I loved em

  • Thanks for all the useful information on the prewar tuning...so who does your harmonica tuning?

  • No sweat man , actually my good friend Karl hooks me up on my harmonicas, he's in contact with the guy and then I get em from him, Karl's a great harmonica player and singer too , you should check him out , his myspace name is sdbluesband the band is called west of memphis

  • you guys are class. harp cat? don't you just want to jump out of that seat cos watching i'am!

  • Nice rendition! I love this tune ... Spot on note for note....I bet L.W. never played it that close to his original recorded version ever again.

  • Great band. Yeah wish I could make my living by playing music, I ern a bit but not enough. Having fun is what its all about.

  • Very good stuff...!!

  • And in what key?

  • hee rhythmfour, great music. What kind of harmonica do you use?? I want to buy the same because i want that sound too. Is it a chromatic or just diatonic? Greetz Arthur

  • It's a diatonic Marine Band that has been prewar "just" tuned ... in the key of Bb to play this song in F in 2nd position

  • I've never heard a L.Walter cover band just like this!!!

    Huge sound...

  • We're not a Little Walter cover band I just mainly post the Walter songs ... but thank you I'm glad you enjoy it ...

  • How great it would be to walk in a room and see and hear these guys playing! I would be there for the rest of the show.

  • Well Thanks for saying that, Anytime you're in Montreal just look us up or write us and come see us play ...

    Bharath

  • I would love to see you guys play too.

You have the greatest tone I've heard in a long while. Where in Montreal to you play? If ever I'm in town I would definetly check you out.

  • congratulations!!! great tone, cool tribute to walter.

  • Greetings to the Rhythym Four!! That is some beautiful playing gentleman! Great Harmonica! You've got that song down, note for note, trust me I know! I play a version of that tune myself, just not as accurate as yours! You guys are awesome, great band! Please come by and check me & my band out at: myspace slash bentreed

    Sincerely, impressed,
