  • so how did it fail? i know phenox lander made it but how did polar fail?

  • It failed most likely when the landing pads deployed. When they dropped down, the force tricked the lander into thinking it had hit the ground and landed, so it cut the decent engines off while it was still around 100 feet in the air....gravity (even though a third of earth gravity) did the rest.
