  • We did just use Shugarcaine today! This thing rocks!

  • Probably could have been done with Shugarcaine alone. This is the 6 and the 7 would have been more impressive. Also probably best to follow Dr Malyugin's advice and remove the scroll before engaging the inserter. Iris can become entraped in a atrophic eye. Easy to use with out the inserter as well.

  • i dont see what the point for using this can someone explain??

  • That is so cool!

  • I tried my first one of these today. Had a 3.5mm Flomax pupil (off for 3 months), floppy green iris, and a very, very hard nucleus. The ring worked perfectly and was easy to insert and remove. We were able to actually see what we were doing during the phaco/cracking. I highly recommend this ring! In this case it made all the difference in the result.

  • A great alternative to Morcher's 5S Pupil Dilatator. Is it possible to get the expander from MST directly?

  • I saw Dr. Malyugin's presentation about this in 2006 in Chennai. Fantastic innovation.

  • Thanks for posting this video. We are going to give this product a try at our facility the next time we encounter a small pupil and/or floppy iris. Jeff Brant, MD

  • Dear Samnavon,

Thank you for the interest in this device.

You will definitely like the ring as I am.

The main advantages are - less bulkiness than Graether and also secure iris margin fixation.

More over it does not restrict instruments movements in the AC.

To engage the pupil margin I recommend short round ended hook.

    Sincerely yours,

    Boris Malyugin

  • Thanks for your reply. I used 2 Graether's and your ring today for the first time. Yours was better. The Graether can require some manipulation to fully tuck the iris marigin along the entire circumfrence (and doesn't work unless you do). In addition, in one case the Graether ring came out during the case and was free-floating. Yours worked as expected, right on the first try. Thanks! Sam Navon

  • Thanks for the great video. I plan on trying the device this week. Just wondering if you could compare it to the Graether expander, which I've used about a dozen times. It can take a little manipulating to fully engage the pupil maring into the collar of that deivce.
