  • Mass Donation Day for Mike Gravel on 11/11 - please help a veteran on Veterans Day!!!

We have to make an strong impact by the 15th, don't let corporate censorship win this battle!!!

    For information please go here:

youtube(dot)com/gravel2008 (please subscribe to keep up with Mike's campaign!)

  • I like it how this is all planned out, little goofy though.

  • Goofy is sure correct. What needs to be understood regarding this line of congressional manipulation is that this is what they do all the time to get BAD laws passed. Scarey and GOofY!

  • GIVE HIM HELL, GRAVEL!!

  • I'd love to see a Gravel/Paul ticket with Kucinich as Secr. of State. I don't believe that Ron Paul's almost dogmatic Austrian economic model would be appropriate right now. It will cost a lot to repair the social damage that the military industrial complex has exacted upon the US in the last 50 years, and privatizing the transition isn't the way. Gravel and Paul are both fans of decentralization, which is the only way out of the quasi-fascist model that both parties seem to support.

  • I really want to watch this but I fell asleep the first 3 times I tried

  • I can't believe I just spent the last 6 and a half minutes of my life being taught about Mr. Gravel's dream of a filibuster.

  • I like Gravel, but that was just tiresome. That measure, practically speaking, is far-reaching.

  • just beginning to learning about Gravel. I have never voted because I will not vote unless there is someone I support. Ron Paul is where my vote is going, and Gravel may be a good choice to run w/Ron Paul, possibly even win my first vote ever, If Ron Paul were to unfortunately not run.

  • is mike gravel for small government ?

so far all i see is that he wants to get out of iraq and says it very loudly. Well all the democrats as well as ron paul say they want out of iraq, what makes mike so special?

  • Mike has a definate plan to get out. Its called making it illegal for troops to remain in Iraq past 60days as he is explaining. He has had experience in the past doing this before in the early 70s with ending the draft. And he wants to empower you to make law. What other canidate is talking about that or eliminating the IRS. Is Paul, no? Beside the nazi party will not chose him as their canidate. Thats a fact.

  • Actually paul did say he would eliminate the IRS, i think it was the nbc debate, well it was one of the two debates. as for the nazi party, i would like to believe that it is the people that choose, not the party. All the democratic candidates want out of iraq, not just mike. the empowerment to make law sounds cool though. mike gravel wants to cut military spending, not sure if I like that. Non-intervention is fine but America should still be the number 1 super power.

  • First of all we are not a #1 super power anymore and we need to face it. Thats one thing I like about Gravel is that he doesnt sugar coat things. He tells it like it is. Second, he trying to stop the military ind complex from devouring everything which you should be for. Why should contracts along side of our troops be make 10xs as much, overcharge for services to the troops with absolutely no oversight. Thats is ridiculous.

  • What he's really doing is making it easy for civilians to see which members of the senate are keeping us in Iraq and which are not. He's making it available for the people to decide who lies and votes for the war but tells you they are against it.

  • I like Mr. Gravel. I will vote for him in 08 whether he is on the ballot or not. If I vote for one of the "mainstream" candidates I feel like I would be wasting my vote anyway.

  • I wonder if this senator agrees with Ron Paul.. Gravel seems like a reasonable, rational guy..

  • Awesome! Thanks for doing this!

  • Though Sen. Gravel's tactic would most likely be effective in acheiving its immediete objective it would most likey further divide the country. Such division is the last thing America needs in a time of unrellenting and degenerative partisanship. Thus, a more moderate plan such as those proposed by Sen. Biden and Gov. Richardson would be the best of the proposed Iraq plans.

  • His idea sounds fine, at least in principal. However, why not prosecute the impeachable felonies that the executive has already committed in going to Iraq in the first place as well? In other words, if he's serious about this, he should support Kucinich's articles of impeachment against Vice President Cheyney. Prosecute high crimes and misdemeanors before (or at least simultaneously with) going after ongoing ones.

  • He's already answered that question. Only not here.

  • Encourage: his answer was he doesn't support it, as he indicated by not raising his hand in the debate. That's a disturbing answer to me and I think he's not serious since impeachment is what's obviously called for, for what's happening. Will he defend the constitution? Because that's what's at stake here.

  • You have to watch his video on his plan to end this war. First his says to make the law ending the war, then go after the impeachment. To do the latter first will mean more troops will die in the process while impeachment is going on.

  • There is no question that he is serious. He also is guaranteeing that his plan will work. So, you have someone with real experience in working Congress, who believes the country wants out of Iraq and has a plan assured to get it done quickly. In that situation, I expect he does not want to dilute the push behind his plan by also pushing on Impeachment which will take a year before anything really gets going...and then they will soon be out of office.

  • I've seen his plan, anyone can on his website. It is not as detailed as Kucinich's and I'm not clear that he has a solution for what to do after you bring troops home. He was not calm and rational in the debate and said things that did not lend credibility to the antiwar movement. This raises red flags to me b/c it sounds alot like Dean in 04. I shouldn't say that b/c his basic point is right, but it seems rather obvious.

  • Am I wrong or did he call you Jim?

  • And you think this matters why ? Secondly, why not just email Kotecki about this.(sigh)

  • umm...it matters enough for you to reply to my comment why? do you not get youtube people don't message about such silly things. Stop patrolling the comments.

  • I'll do as I wish thank you very much. And I'll ask what I wish. You don't have to like it, not reply.

  • what would the Dalai Llama do?

  • Oh please.
