Very cool design, but too expensive initially and difficult to upgrade. Used, on the other hand, with replacement video card, optical drive, and a USB audio output... quite a useful media computer for almost 9 years now. But it's time to move on.

I was an Apple fanboy at one time when they made the PowerBook G3 but today Macs look better than what they actually are, they are not particularly productive but aimed at gadget geeks and early adopters with expensive marketing campaigns...

Yes but the operating system makes the difference. My mum sues an Acer and they are good but because it runs Windows it is slow on certain applications, certain applications wont work and other problems. Mac's are faster and the fact they look good is nice as well. it isn't just the appearance, it's the durability

Back then you had to be lucky if software you wanted supported OS 9. Also, OS 9 was just plain ugly. Shortly after OS 9, OS X 10.0 and 10.1 were slow, incomplete, and had few applications available.

OS X wasn't all that good until Tiger.

Now macs are incredible since most software and hardware support Mac OS X, and if it doesn't, it can easily be run through boot camp in a worst case scenario.

I have Leopard on a 1.25Ghz Mac Mini G4 with 1GB of Ram & It runs just fine. Though it slowed down just alittle compared to Tiger. Leopard uses more Ram and my Mini has a 1GB Ram limit. I think the Cube has a 7200RPM HDD & takes more than 1GB RAM so it will compensate if u put leopard on it..

Macs can run both Mac & PC software using many different variations of apps, there's crossover: darwine, parallels, vmware fusion or for fully native speed and performance there is bootcamp. I run GTA IV, MW2, TDU, COD 4 & Crysis fine on my macbook pro.

I assume my macbook pro is most likely better equipment then your PC, I have 8GB Ram, 500GB Hard drive, NVIDIA 9400M Graphics and a 2.53Ghz C2D

If they sold this Cube G4, the iMac G4, (both with current specs) and the current Mac Pro together, I really feel the Macintosh line would be just perfect, because it has the best mixture of accessibility/upgradability, and all in one design.
