You won't be able to get a Evil character, and I think only 1 server, with 1 character. Somehow, for me Lotro is getting better, legendary items and instances, tho few things from latest updates are bit -wrong moves-
@DuffleMuffins legendary weapons are different from the weapons in WOW, the weapons in LOTRO after lvl 50 you can lvl up and they buff certain parts of your character
@DuffleMuffins The differences in gameplay among all of the "sword and sorcery" MMO's are pretty miniscule. You have to dig below the surface to find any differences of substance (eg, the way the raid encounters play out).
i saw today a £75 lifetime subscription for it and it would work way better in the long run as i just have to pay that and then thats it the game is mine for whenever without any more payments so is very tempting may just do that payment... would love to start playing this again, loved playing it before

I've played both WoW and LOTRO and they are both excellent games, this footage was back when the game was pretty much new, after MoM the gameplay stabilized and things have kinda fallen into place....LOTRO maybe doesn't have a bigger fanbase than WoW, but each game has it's own pros and cons, I'm not saying one is better, but the only way you can actually judge is by playing both games....idk, I'm just trying to say that it all depends on your specific taste

Cartoon game? Are you high? It's pixelated, not a fucking cartoon. Clearly you can't tell the difference between animation on the T.V and pixels put together to form what you're watching everytime you play a game.
So far I loved LOTRO xept that there aren't many players in the low level sections and the sound cuts off in battle a lot. Sometimes you'll hear a yell and that's it.

Its very good. Now that battle in book 5 looks amazing, but its amazing at the very start of the game. There is also crafting monster play mini games, get traits specific to ur characters class and race, everything. More and more people are joining now, which will be better as it will be easier to geta fellowship. IF you get it, join the EN-Eldar server.
when u reach the highest lv on lotro, the fun really starts, mostly due to the books(storyline)There are 23 books so far vol. 1 15 books and vol.2 8 books and each book has around 8 chapters

It has fees but it's cheaper than like World of Warcraft which is more to buy the games (+ XP) and more to play. Much more ppl play WoW, but it also costs the most to play compared to most MMOs I think. LotRO is pretty cheap for a pay MMO last time I checked.
Classes are Guardian(tank), Loremaster (Crowed control), Captain(buffs), Hunter (dps),champion (AOE), Minstril(Healer), Warden(offtank), Ruin keeper(dps/healer) And burgular ( sneaks around but does good dps on 1 target).
WoW doesn't have a single original feature or idea. Not a single one. I challenge any of you to try to give me something WoW did first that no other MMO did.
i don't think it really matters that WoW doesn't have anything "new". It's the way they present their "stolen" material. And the way they did it was/is great. And it dragged many players towards them.
All they did was make it very very very simple so that all the kids with ADD could play it, and they took out any kind of challenge or penalty for failure. Now that's a recipe to keep people in a game. Most people who play WoW never played MMOs before and never will again, its the house wife game of the internet.

Actually its based purely on statistics. The game with the most subs before WoW was EverQuest, WoW brought a lot of new players to the MMO scene, many of them never would have touched an MMO, but WoW made a nice easy kiddie game for them

yes, playing as a low level does not require much "skill" or brains (although it's quite usefull when playing efficiantly) but playing as a level 70+ does require some age. although even thát can be done by an "underaged". but there will be no raid who will accept a 12 year old kid who doesn't know how to play his character.
Like I said, WoW has no original concepts, the raids in WoW are just easy version of the raids in EverQuest. What's better is, in WoW, people have to download all sorts of third party tools, use ventrillo and teamspeak, and download all the strategies from websites, whereas in EverQuest, you had the chat box and that was it. You figured it out on your own and didn't fuck up, and it could take up to 200 people sometimes.
Using Ventrillo and Teamspeak (or even Skype) doesn't give away any of the sensation. In my experiance, it even adds some. Since you can directly lead your team, or give other orders, with people actually hearing your voice. (that's a + in my opinion)
About the "addons" (third party tools); yes, they do make raids easyer, but still, not easy enough for a kid to play properly.
The 200 people raids from EverQuest, I don't think that would be possible. It would give to much lagg. Although it sounds like a lovely scene to me, and if WoW would ever be able to squeeze that out of their production lines, wauw, thumbs up =]
what is with the different books? Is it liek more books unlocks more parts of the world? Or more dungeons or instances or raids? How does the game change when a new book is revealed?
There is now, with the new Book 7 update. Just go into the UI settings and there should be something there called Quest Guide. It's not quite like WoW's quest tracker, but close for now, since it is in beta. Hope that helps.

Hello everyone, I am currently installing LotRO, but i am having some problems. First of all, the Receiving KB/s will connect for about a minute, but then it will go back down to 0.00KB/s. Also, the sending KB/s never goes higher than <1.00 KB/s. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I have done all the forwarding stuff for this application but that seems to be no help. PLEASE REPLY!

It has fees but it's cheaper than like World of Warcraft which is more to buy the games (+ XP) and more to play. Much more ppl play WoW, but it also costs the most to play compared to most MMOs I think. LotRO is pretty cheap for a pay MMO last time I checked.

i played wow for 2 years but after i reached lvl 80, i realised lich king is a bad shit, nothing really breath taking, just comercial.
So i sold my account and tried this lotr.
I can say it's more realistic and stuff.
Both games are good though.

Classes are Guardian(tank), Loremaster (Crowed control), Captain(buffs), Hunter (dps),champion (AOE), Minstril(Healer), Warden(offtank), Ruin keeper(dps/healer) And burgular ( sneaks around but does good dps on 1 target).

i don't think it really matters that WoW doesn't have anything "new". It's the way they present their "stolen" material. And the way they did it was/is great. And it dragged many players towards them.

All they did was make it very very very simple so that all the kids with ADD could play it, and they took out any kind of challenge or penalty for failure. Now that's a recipe to keep people in a game. Most people who play WoW never played MMOs before and never will again, its the house wife game of the internet.

Actually its based purely on statistics. The game with the most subs before WoW was EverQuest, WoW brought a lot of new players to the MMO scene, many of them never would have touched an MMO, but WoW made a nice easy kiddie game for them

yes, playing as a low level does not require much "skill" or brains (although it's quite usefull when playing efficiantly) but playing as a level 70+ does require some age. although even thát can be done by an "underaged". but there will be no raid who will accept a 12 year old kid who doesn't know how to play his character.

Like I said, WoW has no original concepts, the raids in WoW are just easy version of the raids in EverQuest. What's better is, in WoW, people have to download all sorts of third party tools, use ventrillo and teamspeak, and download all the strategies from websites, whereas in EverQuest, you had the chat box and that was it. You figured it out on your own and didn't fuck up, and it could take up to 200 people sometimes.

Using Ventrillo and Teamspeak (or even Skype) doesn't give away any of the sensation. In my experiance, it even adds some. Since you can directly lead your team, or give other orders, with people actually hearing your voice. (that's a + in my opinion)
About the "addons" (third party tools); yes, they do make raids easyer, but still, not easy enough for a kid to play properly.

The 200 people raids from EverQuest, I don't think that would be possible. It would give to much lagg. Although it sounds like a lovely scene to me, and if WoW would ever be able to squeeze that out of their production lines, wauw, thumbs up =]

Books are quests that follow the actual LotR books themselves that deal with stopping the force of Angmar or retaking Moria...
Its much easier to explain when you see it in-game =)

There is now, with the new Book 7 update. Just go into the UI settings and there should be something there called Quest Guide. It's not quite like WoW's quest tracker, but close for now, since it is in beta. Hope that helps.

Hello everyone, I am currently installing LotRO, but i am having some problems. First of all, the Receiving KB/s will connect for about a minute, but then it will go back down to 0.00KB/s. Also, the sending KB/s never goes higher than <1.00 KB/s. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I have done all the forwarding stuff for this application but that seems to be no help. PLEASE REPLY!
