@JoeVetteman It's not used widely, more of a military term I believe for a large event, perhaps showcase which is public? They also have the Royal Military Tattoo
@AHickenUK Thank you my friend....really cool to see airshows in person huh? No matter where we may be,the thrill of seeing such beautiful airplanes doing a demo never ceases to amaze us all....I've been to a few myself......thank you for taking the time to answer my question.......I'm an USAF veteran....worked on C-5's most of the time, but I also helped fix F-15's,16's,and one B-1 at Dyess AFB....I even got a ride in a two-seat A-10!!!! What a neat treat that was!!!!
@JoeVetteman No problem mate, glad to help. And a personal salute to you also, anyone who serves in the forces deserves to be recognised. Well done mate.
Royal International Air Tattoo, an air show that is currently held yearly in July at Fairford in Gloustershire. Next one 18th July 2009 so not long to wait!! :-)
RIAT Coordinator's have just emailed me well like 10 minuets ago saying this year they are makeing it up for us because of last year being terenchal rain, so this year is going to be extra special so if i was you i would go.
are you american? if so i like how you say aluminum instead of aluminium when, many other elements (samarium, europium germanium, holmium) all end in "ium"
we were gunna go with cdts but cos we couldnt get there we obviously didnt go. feel sorry for all those who went! at least you'll get ur money bk, i suppose thts sum consolation.
Yup. We probably spent close to a million dollars bringing two B-1s. When we bring them somewhere, we lose the ability to use them for training purposes or war.
Yeah I was there as well on the Friday this was filmed being very sad standing in the mud and drowning under the torrential rains at this end of the air field, this fly past was something to behold thanks for filming it so I can show my mates what I'm talking about
oh also the F22 Raptor just defies the laws of physics!!!!
Back when we had an air force and enough pilots...
One flypast I am sorry I missed.

you must be deaf! a formation flight of 9 eurofighters,it only takes 1 to shake the floor so i would love to see what 9 would do to the ground lol

@BeLLiNi1303 Its not the Typhoons id be worried about, the GR4s and the Nimrod would be enough to break an eardrum!

The finest airforce in the world, it would not matter if we had half this fleet, no force in the world could live with the royal air force, noboby.
