the ion is accurate but my friends ion will not work in the cold. he used compressed air but if it is to cold outside the gun will not shoot. idk if all ions do tht but his does. so if it was up to me i would try and get the sp-1 or a tippmann 98 with a flatline barrel

sp-1 is an ion with a body kit, you sure you know what your talking about? as with most spoolies in cold weather use thinner lube and up the dwell.

the sp-8 is an ion with a body kit not the sp-1. and he tried tht but it still wouldnt work. he had to replace the board in his gun because it kept on freezing

? the board kept freezing? Another solution that would help for cold weather would be to increase the dwell to compensate for any bolt stick you may be getting due to cold weather.

Sorry the SP-1 has the same internals as the vibe. The it's still a spool valve thinner lubes should help for cold weather.

Compressed air / Nitrogen is terminology used for the same thing. A compress air tank is air that we breath compressed into a tank, most of the air that we breath is nitrogen so basically your shooting compressed nitrogen. You might get away with CO2 with anti siphon, and I see guys shoot C02 through their ions. But Compressed Air/ Nitrogen will be much more consistent and easier on you markers internals.

Depends on how much paint per game you shoot, if you plan on shooting more than 4 pods on a stock ion then get at least a 68/4500. Right now Myth tanks are pretty cheap.

check your eyes the ufc ion takes almost 9 seconds to dump a full hopper mine took less than 8 seconds.

that was take two if you look the paintball from less than 5 feet away bounces back at him after hitting the target, no way that is going 285-300fps. 285-300 with a target 5 feet away I think even monster balls would break every time. I've shot my ion that fast with a qloader and the dwell all the way down. Hell I've done that in training mode on most of my markers. take one and three are like 9 seconds. Either way its still a fast ion.

Thats pretty fast, but the stock 17 bps is definately fast enough for me.

Look at this guy another idiot. My current marker inventory is. Ion silver sold for .....$1000.00.I got another one and upgraded it even more.06 ego (upgraded) may not be as light or air efficient as an 08 but I have yet to be out shot by another, Quest, legend, Naughty Dog's shocker, Autococker Pump, DP F8, and loads of mechanical markers (lend out). I don't know about you but money is not an issue. I got close to $15,000 in paintball related stuff. At the end marker does not make the player.

I ran out of space. I mow guys using SL8R, Marq, Vices, Protege, Angels, etc, with my ion all the time, when it was stock or upgraded. So the comment on don't ever by an ion made by the tard zigge9631 is made out of pure ignorance. Ion with a decent reg and barrel kit shoots just fine stock. The dumb ass response on could have bought something nice like a SL8R, that personal preference. I know guys that will not trade their upgraded tippman for anything why because to them their tippman is nice.

Mini's are pretty cool too. I plan on getting one if a good deal pops up. Right now I have an impulse, quest, ion, 06 ego, 07 PMR, tippmann 98, rebel, spyder compact 2 in one, samurai, DP F8 and more to come. Some people collect stamps I go for paintball markers.

I have an 06 Ego shot an 07 which is not any faster, my ion is faster than my EGO. It's about having a custom marker. It's also fun to see the faces of people with egos after they get taken out with an ion. The ego is more consistent, less maintenance, just all around more reliable.

well the bolt is real nice to have, it maxamizes the size of your firing chamber lowering your dwell while raising your rate of fire, it also makes it a more air efficient gun, personally i have a deadly winds tactical ion with some ups (qev, drop w/ on off,cp trigger, L7 bolt, the body kit, and such) As soon as i put that bolt in i instantly notice it was quieter, and more air efficient. I was merely suggesting a good up, but its really your choice. Sweet ion btw.

its NOT the lightest bolt, they just say it is, the DeadlyWind HollowPoint Ion bolt is the lightest, it weighs just 7.4 grams. it is 1.1 gram lighter than the L7.

Nice marker, But not to bash or anything, an ion still shoots like an ion. I've seen wayyyy to many ion's at the field so i took a step up and got a shocker. Stuck a virtue in there and I was good to go. All in all I like your gun's color. 10/10 for putting the time into each of your guns and not being like a rich kid and buying the top of the line markers.

Actually money is not an issue, currently I own an impulse, ion, pmr + 8 other markers from the days when there where no electronic markers. Been doing this since 94, I just upgrade what I can get my hands on. Currently I am working on picking up a quest. Sorry for not buying into the hype. I use the ion for rec play and to show off. Can your shocker empty a full vlocity in 7 seconds eyes on not a single chop at 290 fps. I must admit the shocker nxt's are pretty smooth.

Not sure what my shocker can do acutally. I really dont need to shoot that fast anyways.Maybe another shocker owner can do it but my fingers cant hit extremely fast rates just enough to lay a rope down. And i havent chopped a ball yet in my gun. Thumbs up for upgrading each marker.

I agree I have an ion, impulse, tippmann, PMR, a few spyders, and only looking at getting more markers. I have big $ invested in each gun so yes I could buy an ego, shocker, PM7, Onyx, timmy etc. My so called crappy ion still gets those so called high end marker owners checking my ion out. I hang with the best of them and my marker of choice to play with is the ion because its cheap and can keep up with the best of them, so I don't worry about breaking it.

That's what you say but my ion turns the heads of owners of PMR's, Ego's, shockers etc. They all scratch their heads and can't believe how fast it is. I get checked at my local field all the time for ramping which I don't during a game. PMR faster hell no smoother yes but faster nope. Dude check my other video my ion is faster than my PMR. Right now I am looking at getting an angel or legend.

a pmr is faster if you turn off the eyes, with the eyes on it cant shoot faster than 20bps.
