I heard a Spanish woman repeating numbers in groups of 5 in Spanish around 7mhz. What was weird was it sounded prerecorded. Same tone and speed throughout the 3 or 4 mins. Then came a steady high piched tone that beeped once every second.
I think this is a Mexican highway service agency for driver assistance and such. They use several HF freqs for this in usb mode.A few months ago, Monitoring Times had an article on it.
I have been monitoring this station over the last couple of years but had been mishearing it as "Nicosia Radio", however I surmised that it was a maritime radio-telephone station.
you dont need a license to purchase but to transmit you do. i got my first radio before i got my license, gave me the incentive to get my Technician License.
OH! I was surfing on my new SW radio, and there was the weird reappearing/disappearing message that was a pre-recorded spanish kid reading off numbers. I researched it on wikipedia, and it said that it is Cuban spy radio. Pretty creppy if you think about it

This is what you would call a "number station".
Usually recorded data encoded in numerical form and looped for a length of time. May be instructions for smuggling, special ops, or just serving as a beacon of sorts.
This is coastal station (shore-to-ship)Olympia Radio, callsign SVO, headquartered in Athens, Greece. Saying "This is Olympia Radio. Call us on channels 806, 1232, 1640 and 2217". Repeated in English and Greek.
this is a beacon for a marine r/t station, cant make out the station id,i have heard this on 4mhz also and 8mhz,marine r/t station are rare these days as most ships have gone over to satalite coms

CCrane? I'm just wondering :)

It's a Yaesu FT 857 amateur radio transceiver. Cost is around $850 USD and will need a amateur radio license to purchase.
