  • I think that Bruce had in this movie (except for his blonde hair) the hottest look in much time.

  • Is it just me or does She look like an Avatar?

  • @conkerfan2550 I think it's you.

though, to me, she vaguely reminds me of a twi'lek. Not enough, though.

  • haahahahaahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA at 4:01

  • fire wind water and earth;

and i think the fifth element is love ! what an odd movie!

  • @Calsummersishere The director said that the fifth element is sex.

  • pure european brilliance ;-)

  • Man!!! Is every movie Milla Jovovich is in an action movie? I mean, I don't mind, but the Resident Evil movies turned into The Matrix!

  • @TheFearl95 yeah a lot of her stuff does lean toward action these days. she was in that mystery thriller A PERFECT GETAWAY but that wasn't that great and she was also in that alien suspense movie that i forgot the name of. i think her best performance was when she played joan of arc in THE MESSANGER -- she can definitely do drama but i guess she just chooses not to.

  • Just beautiful. If you like this check out the new Charlie North Elemental track on You Tube, he has done an AV mash up, its wicked.

  • Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely !

  • omg mila is soo damn sexy

  • albanian singer diva

  • the best!!!

  • i can't find an answer to this anywhere online and i can't find the exact clip on youtube so i'll ask here. prior to this scene, when the diva first comes in and is staring at the guy on the ships crew it seems like her and her entourage are up to no good. her security guy chokes him and the tall bald girl seems to be acting pretty sneakily. maybe i'm just stupid and am missing something, but what is going on there? thanks

  • I think they're just trying to suggest that the diva and her gang are "in the know" and have power and importance in the story.

  • my mom told me she had holes on her armpits... but u can only see em for lik 2 seconds...

  • putain decidement la realisation assure trop ! c genial merci^^

  • this is far old than lady gaga this movie is about 1997

  • just watched the movie (againe) in 1080P oooo what a plasure this movie is

    perfect balance between scifi,comedy,romance,action :)

a must see ... over and over againe

  • you got right ;)

  • Yeah, Best Movie EVER!

  • Luc Besson Director. Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker then you have costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier. The Fifth Element is amazing. Diva Dance by Inva Mula is sensational. 10 / 10 a future classic.

  • check out 'Laura sings diva dance', she proves it can be sang without any synthisizing :D

Inva Mula the Albanian opera singer, was the original artist, she is amazing

  • This is not a normal movie, not a usual movie, it have one special thing. It is wearlly* nice.

  • 4:10 Did she actually sing that shit???

  • Does Inva perform globally? I'm in Dallas so would LOVE to attend - this scene is "almost" - inhuman... - too beautiful...

  • It's a awesome movie I love it, this is my favorite scene :)

  • wtf at 4:00

  • One of the best moments of the film. The editing was amazing, how everything is following on...beautiful.

    This movie was pure Art.

  • Best film of all time, in my opinion!

  • in mine too

  • yep, i love this movie

  • 2.10 Chris Moyles

  • i know! this movie is so weird it should freak you out, and yet, it is just so good!! haha

  • I don't mean to be really rude but really you thought it was sarah brightman...not at all.

  • Nobody here heard of transposing or sampling? I thought it was chris moyles and still do. It's his twin.

  • i love dis movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:43 I cracked up so hard at this part the first time i saw this movie

  • no its Inva Mulla Tchako!!

  • Dude, not every opera singer is Sarah Brightman.

  • WHAT THE HELL

  • This is one of the best scenes in the movie!

  • What a film

  • Is that Chris Moyles the Radio DJ at 2:08 ? Haha it's the spitting image of him

  • is this a real song not just from the movie??? whats it called??? :O

  • It's from the opera Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti.

The aria is "Il dolce suono"

  • AAAAAAAAAA !! q xVr es Esta CANCION !!

ac timpo q no la xcuxaaa !!

    xD 25 SEP !! 09 !! o 26 !!

  • Proof that the 90's where great Hollywood needs to get there thumbs out of there ass and come up with some more original stuff like this and quit adapting book to movie bullshit I mean come on "where the wild things are" what the hell.

  • it is a book for kids which is intended to be a movie for kids. The two are in no way comparable. They are in different genres with completely different target audiences.

  • thank you for saying target audiences. people truly don't realize that bit of info.

  • yeahhh mannn like encino man, or bio dome..... 90's had some good movies but obviously not all or even a majority. I like to think there are more independent movies that get their shot now a days.

  • Unbelieveably beautiful music and the figth scene is so cool with the music!!!

  • it is italian from the opera lucia di lamamoor??

  • Is she singing in french, italian or something else?

  • Yes she is singing in italian, here are the lyrics:

"Il dolce suono mi colpi di sua voce!

Ah, quella voce m'e qui nel cor discesa!

Edgardo! io ti son resa, Edgardo, mio!

fuggita io son de tuoi nemici.

Un gelo me serpeggia nel sen!

    trema ogni fibra!

    vacilla il pie!

Presso la fonte meco t'assidi al quanto!

Ohime, sorge il tremendo fantasma e ne separa!"

  • Moar like,

    "Ooooaaahhh! Ahhh! Ooaaaahhhh! Haahaaaooaahh!"

    Am I rite?

  • Does anybody else think Twi'lek when they see her?

  • I do a bit.

  • Milla Jovovich is so freaking hot!!!

  • whoever the person is who actually sings this is epic. Marvelous seriously towards the end she actually sounds like a flute. Beautiful

  • her name is Inva Mula. and yes she really is a truly epic singer. even more amazing is the fact that every bar of her singing IS her singing, there wasn't any dubbing. however, during the recording the woodwinds got a little too forte and over powered her lyrics slightly, but she was singing through it all.

  • her name's Inva Mula but i forget where she's from i think somewhere in eastern europe.....and yes shes Omazing lol

  • Is that the Fat Man from Leon The Professional at 2:06?

  • leeloo is soooooo cooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:08-4:12......real? i feel like it was slowed down then replayed, or maybe a synth was used?

  • Great voice, I haven't heard many better.

Ever here Yma Sumac sing? She could change the pitch of here voice almost 5 octaves almost instantaneously and her early recordings were made in the fifties way before digital enhancement and hi-tech trickery.

  • 3:52 - 3:58 <<< love the singing there!!!! xxx

  • actually bigbeastofwelshiness. Her voice wasnt altered during the movie or any point during the song

If you ever saw the Special Edition.

  • This move was awesome

  • Best scene of this film EVER!!!! <3 xx

  • I love this movie. It's still one of ,my faves, this scene being my favourite scene! x3

  • oh I remember watching this

fifth element is such an awesome movie :)

  • Guys did you not read MrNeroBurns comment?

He asked didn't they copy that move in Kill Bill? as in did they borrow that move from The Fifth Element.

  • The woman who has sang this could win americas got talent or american idol

  • sif someone of this talent would dain to show her face on such shitty shows. shes beyond that crap

  • It was Inva Mulla Tchako, she's an opera soprano, of course she could win Americas got talent or American idol. Although the song it's self was put together digitally because it's impossible for the human voice to change note that quickly, so she sang the notes individually and then the song was constructed.

  • I had a feeling that it was like that. Especially the last half.

  • Except that she is French.

  • MrNeroBurns asked, if they copied the move IN Kill Bill not FROM Kill Bill, so he is saying exactly the same thing as you guys do ;)

  • MrNeroBurns, I believe this movie was made before Kill Bill, thus, Kill Bill is copying this movie. :P Love the techno 3:15

  • That's what I said...Didn't they copy this IN KillBill....Not FROM KillBill.

  • 4:10 didn't they copy that move in Kill Bill?

  • LOL! This film was made in 1997, Kill Bill made in 2003, what do you think.

  • I think you can't read very well.

  • is this on a soundtrack? Just wondering.

  • oh gosh i loved this part of the movie!

  • This scene is a masterclass of editing!

Love the way it ends :)

  • Let's erase a couple of decades....I was named "after" her....used to dye my hair; from blond to strawberry ...and YES I fought a lot...time to grow UP!!!=: Lila-Suz

  • this is an absolute masterpiece. This scene made me fall in love with this movie

  • i love this film! i aint seen it since i was about 5 though. I can remember this bit being my favourite though :-D

  • My favorite scene in this movie. The "techno" part kinda threw me off and is a little weird, but still awesome! :)

  • I own the soundtrack. Wonderful work. There are quite a few styles represented excelently.

  • Also look up Vitas Bumac. He was hired to do the fast (techno) part of "Lucia Di Lammermoor" -starting at 3:15-

  • The soprano here is Anna Netrebko - she sings aria from Lucia Di Lamermoor

  • No, she's not, The soprano is Inva Mula, an albanian soprano, and yes, she sang "Il dolce Suono", the first part of the Mad Scene of Lucia di Lammermoor

  • 2:29 the best!!best MOVIE I ever seen!!!

  • I LOVE THIS FILM! specialy in 1:23 or the start :)

  • this is one of the best films i have seen in my life. original, funny, but also dramatic, with unusual atmosphere and great performances by bruce willis, gary oldman, and especially by milla!:)

  • 4:10 the sound she makes is wicked

    4:29

  • i love the sond :)

  • the amazing singing is even in sync with the fighting. how long ago was this movie made?

  • 1997!

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • MAKE ME... xD

  • i already did

  • favorite part of the movie.

i downloaded this song from limewire and put it on my ipod..i fast forward to the part when it gets fast..lol i just love it

  • The lady who sang this song sang it again live to prove that she could actually make her voice do that....its insane!

  • is there a video for that?

  • I dont think so, this is not one voice, plus digitally mixed as well.

  • im playing this game right now on my psp ^^ i really love it i had it on ps1 the thing was that my dad beat that whole game now im gonna beat it !!!! ^^

  • !!!!power to the people!!!!!!

  • Dude, this song and entire movie is frikkin awsome

  • one of the best movies ever. BZZZZZZZZ!!!

  • Everytime I hear this song, I want to fight like Milla Jovovich!

  • LMAO. I hope this song isnt playing next time someone pisses you off.

  • I cream myself at 4:10 she must have quickly started playing the flute because that sound isn't human, it's impossible... she must be REALLY talented.

Everytime I see this scene it blows my mind.

  • Its not her singing like that actually. They recorded vocals on certain parts then interplayed them together to make her song unnatural because well she is a alien haha

  • even 4:04 was seriously not human.

  • definitly an awsome movie aand one of the best scenes in it, but most of her awsome vocals are simulated :( nobody makes sounds like that... and i wanna know what the hell shes saying... is it french? and is milla speaking russian as the "divine language"... i wonder... : /

  • It's Italian, it's not simulated, it's a voiceover...

    "Aria of 'Lucia di Lammermoor'"

(from opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" Act 3, Scene 1: Mad scene "Il dolce suono mi colpi'...") *This is not aria.

    Composed by Gaetano Donizetti (uncredited)

Performed by Inva Mula (as Inva Mulla Tchako), soprano

The London Symphony Orchestra (as London Symphony Orchestra)

    Conducted by Frédéric Chaslin

    Produced by Michel Glotz

    (c) Gaumont 1997

plus i love movies where they show the future with flying cars n stuff

its a great movie and they make the future so easy to undestand

    its not complicated

    plus

this movie made me respect opera =]

    very nice

  • Hi, serius!

  • one of the best movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!i´m serius!

  • Lol before she completely really started breaking with it at 4:01 she started getting all into it grooving with her side 2 step at 3:18 go blue alien diva she killed it with the dance and her singing

  • tHE BACKGROUND IS EQUALLY AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE ARIA

  • the blue diva was (maiwenn le besco)

  • "diva dance" is very much in a different key than the one in movie is it not? does not sound as right like this...

  • Inva Mulla Tchako is an actual opera singer who is the woman who was the diva.

  • It was a fucking awesome movie and this was my favorite part! I mean the diva has kick ass vocals how many people could seriously measure up to her?

  • it happened a lot of time since that amazing movie when Bruce Willis had hair!!.

  • god damn tht is sick!

  • WHOA! 4:10 listen to her.

  • Hahah! Nice Stooges reference at the end.

  • i love this movie!!

  • I cant stop laughing at 4:00!
