To look at Hastings v. Isildur and say that Hastings cheated, end of story, is a ludicrously black and white view. Why does no one give Hastings ANY credit? Is Isildur1 every poker noobs hero? 1) Analysing and accumulating hand data is widely done by medium and high stakes players. Its part of how they get good. Collaboration between players is also common.

Collaboration between players is illegal and against the rules. If hastings didn't collude with the others, he would've never been able to beat Isildur. With that being said, he beat and busted Isildur by cheating. The site rules say it's cheating and therefore it's cheating, simple as that. I bet he even shared his money. I find this rather pathetic and I think Isildur should get his money back and Hastings needs a beating.

2) Hastings has done nothing illegal. He may have violated the terms of the site, and they have punished him as they see fit (and they have chosen to do little).

3) Isildur1 is a professional poker player and not a fool. He knows that people will do this kind of thing to work against him. He still chooses to play online poker though.

4) Hastings DID ACTUALLY WIN THE MONEY FROM ISILDUR1 PLAYING ONLINE POKER. He used his finely tuned skills, aswell as knowledge of hand data, to beat Isildur (aswell as a bug hand from lady luck). You could give an average online player the details of every hand Isildur has ever played, and he still wouldnt win. Hastings is a highly skilled player. Have some respect.

The 3 of them swapped past hands they played against him, they analysed the way he was playing to find a weakness in his game. Then they took turns to take him out, more then likely they were in the same room at the time. It's against the rules of full tilt what they did, that's why he is a cheating cunt. Brian then used the data they collected as a team, to gain a huge edge over Isildur, since they studied his play. A few of the players involved, got a slap on the wrist and I believe Brian Hastings got away scot free.

Basically what they did was cheating and nothing happened, expect one of the best players in the world got robbed.

You can google Brian Hastings and I'm sure it links to the 2p2 forums about this incident. While it may seem smart and strategic from an outsider with little poker knowledge, it's really a slimy, crooked way to beat someone at poker that was 10x better than Hastings was.
