I've been thinking about getting myself some of these molds, gonna have to go for this one! what glues n paint do you use? oh yeah also what do you use in the molds?
@shawndidge1 This is a great first mold to start with. Elmers glue and acrylic hobby paint work well. For casting I recommend for hobbyists Merlin's Magic Dental Plaster. 50lb box will cover all your needs and its got a good hard finish. I use Tuf Stone for my casts now.
@shawndidge1 I tried using weldbond and does't take to plaster very well. I actually use wood glue. Many of my paints are latex, but only because I use so much, its o.k. for me to buy in gallons. As for Tuf Stone, its one of the hardest gypsum plasters available, at a reasonable cost to boot. In the end though, its not the materials that matter as much as the techniques to use them. ;)
Thanks. It really dresses up the model a lot. On the hirst arts site it has a different roof material that isn't quite as showy. This is one of the reasons why I like to build it before I sell it. Now I know to include the roof casts with the model for the kit so customers can get the most out of it. It adds to its cost but its really worth it.

It is a nice kit. 1st time that I have taken a look at it, but definitely a nice enough kit.
