  • Darn! I should've read the comments before I go blabin

  • how did gilligan get off the island?

  • @hippyamp Hi-Yo There Hippyamp, Gilligan (aka: Bob Denver) had this job as a street sweeper and sewer inspector befor leaving Mayberry to become a cruise director for Cheap Trips & Cruises.

  • Andy was the greatest show ever. Very funny without using profanity, sex or cheap jokes.

  • Go Gilligan!!!

  • Bless you all; I need to get back to Horse Gap, and to Bold Camp before I die. Will any of you "Melogeons" go up on Red Onion Mountain with me and help me gather 'sang. (If none of your relatives are Mullins, Bakers, or Stallards, and you don't know how to walk from High Knob to the Devil's Bathtub... ignore all of this)

  • is that Bob Denver?

  • @bdillan1957 It sure it. That's him right after playing Maynard G. Krebs, and just before Gilligan.

  • 4 people cant understand family life and dont know how to boil cabbage down

  • Is that Clarence White on the six-string. Love seeing the master at his craft.

  • Denver Pyle was also the Texas ranger in "Bonnie and Clyde" who eventually got his man.

  • I dd not realize Bob Dever played a part in the Andy Griffith show. After a little research, I figured out why. This is the episode called "Divorce, Mountain Style.

He was playing the part of Dud Wash, Charlene's husband. The orginal Dud Wash was played by Hoke Howell. Have no idea why he was replaced for this episode.

  • That is Bob Denver alright. I just did not ever remember him being in an episode of Andy Griffith. It must have beena small role. If someone had of told me he was in one, I would have probably argued with them.

  • when we had TV, this was one of my KIDS favorite shows to wact. Thye were amazed that TV was once in Black & White!

  • I would like to turn her Ho-Cakes 'round ! ! !

  • Hot damn! I never realised that that was Bob Denver.

  • Well, Gilligan is a site better than Earnest T Bass!

  • The south shall rise again!

  • Just try to control yourself!

  • Of course "Pa Darlin" is Denver Pyle, who played Uncle Jesse Duke

on the "Dukes of Hazzard" show. Always wondered why they didn't

do some bluegrass numbers in the "Boars Nest" tavern like they

had on Andy Griffith. I grew up with family playing music like this

in the mountains of West Virginia. Its as AMERICAN as you can

    possibly get.

  • I can't BELIEVE it!!! Gilligan got off the ISLAND!!!!!!!!!!

  • With Gilligan???

  • Type in "Ron Howard singing, "You don't bring me flowers " listen to opie sing

  • Best gosh darn show ever been on t.v.

  • before gilligan worked on a tour boat in ca.he grew up in mayberry nc.he used to court the darling girl.she later got knocked up by a guy named dud wash back in 1960.gilligan moved to the west coast got a job with jonas grumby he owned a small tour boat service.the rest is history.

  • @SIGNALSTATSorry to split hairs but, I thought the SS. Minnow's home port was Hawaii, not the west coast.

  • ITS GILLIGAN!!!!!!!

  • that is not possibly Mike Nesmith (of the monkees)on mandolin??!!

  • @lookinglassalice I think it's Dean Webb.

  • @lookinglassalice No its dean webb from the darlings

  • Bob Denver and Denver Pile on the same show. Would have been an ever better "before and after" if the scene could have included Gomer Pile!

  • Comment removed

  • Gilligan!

  • A whole lot of talent packed into one room: Andy, Don, Denver Pyle, Bob Denver and the Dillards! Good times in Mayberry.

  • Was that Bob Denver?!?!?!

    I think so!

  • taylor swift needs some new inspiration.

  • @NokneesLooney,

    Close, because they're inbred.

    :D

And I'm very happy thank you.

  • That's our little buddy Gilligan!

  • I'm not a huge fan of country but I do love bluegrass and I LOVE the Darlings. My favorite episodes of Andy Griffith. Thanks for posting.

  • DOWN HOME COUNTRY ROCKS!!!! I love this

  • did that girl go on to be that cute blond on hee haw - she has the same wild look in her eyes, I love country chicks, though I'm a rocker!

  • andy griffith for president for dixie everyone dont forget to cast your vote...lol too bad we have to wait till 2012 to vote again

  • 112Wy,,, I agree with u 110% where is the time machine(but can I just take my ig3 phone with me too, please!! Please please)

  • Things were all together better back then T.V. was clean, Music was clean, The internet didn't exist and bring all its problems, children knew what disipline was and people had more compassion for their friends and neighbors. I wouldn't mind it to go back in time and live there forever.

  • cant beat good ol' southern country folk songs

  • stadalberts, in the first episode with The Darlings, you do hear the jugging. Rodney Dillard (guitar player) didn't like it, so they silenced it thereafter.

  • My two favorite shows are Gilligan's Island and The Andy Griffith Show

  • Funny how "pa" plays the jug, but you can never hear any jug music in these songs

  • I get a about 150 channels on cable and sometimes the only thing I can find worth watching are 40 year old re-runs of the Andy Griffith Show!

  • @Antlers68 You are 100% right . There's nothing on tv fit to watch anymore.

  • Master, looks like Gilligan!

  • @Slicric13 it is.

  • Whos that singing after the sharlene?

  • @Master100Mind Its Bob Denver from Gilligans island.

  • i loooooooooove this song and this show!! Whoever posted this THAAAAANK YOOOU

  • @p51death The Dillards...they are SO good!

  • i have to do this for my orcastra concert and its helping me with tune and lyrics

  • wonder if Bob Denver was High during this episode ??

  • "B'awl them cabbage down"

  • Gilligan and Barney

  • Oh yeah on BILE them cabbage down. I never made the connection before between Denver Pyle and Bob Denver. Were they related? Bluegrass is awesome and some of the most gifted musicians in the world, most untrained, just gifted.

  • @rheisty No, Bob Denver and Denver Pyle were not related.

  • @msymsed, lmao

  • @rheisty I don't think they are related, they spell and pronounce their last names differently.

  • ha ha that makes me laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!! x0

  • zomg! it's gilligan!

  • Maynard!!!!!!!!

  • 0:57 <-----Little Buddy

  • denver pyle

  • It's definatly Bile them cabbage dowm, not boil!

  • Oh, pa, this makes me cry!

  • Wow---I never knew Bob Denver was such a good singer!

    God Bless the Dillards!

  • in reality the dillards were tentative about the image were portraying. they did not want viewers to think southern folks are "hillbillies" in a sense. once they performed on the show their fears were put to ease. what a great show!

  • @Mega1eddie I know country folk like them in Southern Indiana. Pike County specifically. The truth is most country folks are by and large decent folks. Sure you have snakes in the country too like you have them in the city. What I like about the country way of thinking is that it is relational. In the Big City people are known by what they do. In the country they are known by who they are related to.

  • "Oh no pa, that'n makes me cry" Great line. I love it when she says that. I still catch Andy on the reruns. Great show. Thanks for posting.

  • @gmfd007

There has never been, nor will there ever be a show that is better than the Andy Griffith Show.

  • @gmfd007 every song seems to make her cry hah love it

  • WOOOOORK!!! Lol Bob Denver! Love this show!

  • sure do miss Don Knotts and Denver Pyle. Mr Darling is also Uncle Jesse from the Dukes of Hazzard show. Two great classic shows that are WAYbetter than the crud on tv today. I still watch both Andy and the Dukes

  • Gilligan, way to go !!

  • @37dodgepolara

That IS Bob Denver!! I've seen this episode countless time, and NEVER caught that!!

    Thanks!!

  • if you like this music you had better look up Uncle Dave Macon...

  • What ffej980 said! :-)

  • GILLIGAN!

  • It has been my experience that people who are always "knocking" country folk are some of the most miserable people I have ever met, and in reality, they would kill to have the close knit family life most country folk have.

  • Comment removed

  • @NokneesLooney i agree

  • @NokneesLooney amen brother !! its not just country folk, they bash the south the same way.

  • this is a goddamn TV show. its fake. you think beaver and his family were that damn perfect too?

  • @NokneesLooney aint that the truth

  • @NokneesLooney why you say country people are miserable. i grew up in the bluridge mountians and i am not misrable at all. we watch out for eachother. its like a mob but u aint got to kill people

  • @redneckjwillo - reread my comment. Country folk are not the miserable ones...it is the people who are always making fun of them...which are normally money obsessed types. I myself grew up in Michigan, but my family are all from KY and southern IL....I LOVE the south!

  • @NokneesLooney I think that often the reaction isn't against country folk. It's against, "country folk" as represented by politicians for political gain. Real people are a lot more complex than what's often served up to us by modern country music and politicians as some ideal of what we should be. In my experience, the real thing is often the OPPOSITE of what goes into political speeches.

  • i disagree with you dancne, a southern white man will always be at target, i see and hear it everyday.

  • aint that the damn truth!

  • If they made a show like this now someone would be afraid they would offend Southerners, so inorder to be PC they won't.

  • These songs put a smile across my face every time. Love it. How come no tv shows can do that anymore?

  • MY dad and granparents always pronounced it Bile them cabbage down

  • and they would be correct.

  • @blueridger28 That's what they're saying here! Listen again.

  • Gilligan!!! that makes me so happy to see him 0:58-1:04

    lol he's the best

  • Bob Denver was better known back then as Maynard, the beatnik on "Dobie Gillis".

  • jennifer082255, they didn't get rid of Don Knotts. Quite the contrary, they would have much rather he stayed. Knotts left the show because he thought Andy was going to do it for only five years, so he started looking for movie contracts, which he got through Universal (I b'lieve it'was). Knotts could have gone back to the Griffith Show, but he had already agreed to make movies.

  • Thank you for clearing that up for me. That has to be the best show ever done. I never get tired of it.

  • Can someone please tell me how to transfer this video to my MP3 player. I tried watching videos telling how to do so, but I still cant seem to be able to. If someone can help me,I would greatly appreciate it.

  • you tube has it figured..you can't download, only up load what you have to offer them

  • Why doesn't that surprise me?

  • Get download helper it is free and have at it

  • Just keep your yankee thoughts to yourself.. I is you with problem, just move on

    \

  • That WAS Bob Denver aka Gilligan from Gilligan's Island. Love The Andy Griffith Show, a classic, especially when Opie was real young, precious!

The episodes w/ the Darlings (the Dillards from Salem, MO) are among my favorites!

  • I watched my grand daughter view the comedy in todays tv programs....she just stared at the tv....I put on some old Andy Griffith and she came alive and laughed from her heart....a few years before that I noticed the same thing with the modern day cartoons...she just stared at the tv.....then I put on some of the old cartoons that had some humor and she laughed......don't ever try to tell me we have progressed with our tv programming.

  • I can't agree more. It's sad that today there's hardly a show on television at all worth watching, and most of it is pure filth. I'm 20 years old and even I am repulsed by my generation's poor taste. I say stick to the old path...watch Andy Griffith and listen to the talented Dillards!

  • @gtrfreak18 Wise beyond your years brother.........

  • For those of you who ain't country, a muley cow is one who has no horns. Makes the first verse a non-sequitar. Heh. Love this.

  • bake dem biscuits rounnndddd!

  • its bake dem biscuits BROWN!

  • they cut this part out when they show this episode. damn shame. they don't make great shows like this anymore.

  • So true and such a shame. I still enjoy watching it and will never get tired of it. They made a mistake by getting rid of Don Knotts and putting it in color.

Many like to knock country people, but they are some of the best people you will ever know. I am grateful to be from the south.

  • SKIPPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

  • hold on, little buddy

  • Wow. Bob Denver and Denver Pile on the same set. Gomer Pile would make it compete!

    (sorry, got carried away...)

  • Bob Denver....

    Never Knew He Could Sing....

He was Really a Great Gillian!!!

    DuetsDreams

  • I love the Dillards and Andy!!!!

My middle name was going to be Gilligan but my Mom and Dad didnt let my sister have her way LOL!

Could have been worse, one of the other choices was Ringo!

  • Gilligan & the Dillards...LOL

  • The four guys playing the instruments are known as " The Dillards ". They later wrote a song called " The Darling Boys " that you might enjoy. Just type in " The Darling Boys " and you can watch them sing it on UTube at a concert they were doing in Denmark. Heh, they were a little older, but they still sounded great. Enjoy.

  • this is a great song andy sings it great

  • this is a greatest song of all time

  • awesome!

  • Andy Griffith is the best!!! Love that show...

  • Don Knotts was cuttin' a serious rug! The cops in K.C. would be trippin' over their own two feet if they so much as tried to even get close to that dancin'! Like the stumble bums they are! And to think, Clinton wanted to add even more of 'em! Ha!

  • i love this one! gilligan is soooooo cute!

  • Oh, wow ! I didn't even recognize Gilligan 'til you pointed him out. You see alot of the same actors and actresses in those older shows. The Twilight Zone episodes are loaded with actors that went on to big careers.

  • @brokenheart165791 hes mine

  • omg! soo fast i tried to play along with it with my fute but i couldn't catch up..

  • BAWB!!!

  • Yes that is Bob Denver (a.k.a. Gilligan), Denver Pyle as Pa Darling, and of course we have GOMER Pyle, Goober's cousin, as played by Jim Nabors.

All NEIGHBORS on the same show? Coincidence? I think not.

  • Sing it Gilligan (Dud Wash)

    Awesome!!!!!
