Considering she was born and bred in a hot country, it would make sense that - having lived in America for some time, where the climate is not as hot, her skin tone would lighten a little more. When most black girls become teens they start perming / weaves etc. It also has nothing to do with "trying to look white" and more to do with making the hair manageable and easy to style on a day to day basis. A black woman with natural hair cant simply hop in the shower, wash hair, blow dry and head out to work in the morning.

I don't see how she's any lighter now, than she was then. Considering she was born and bred in a hot country, it would make sense that - having lived in America for some time, where the climate is not as hot, her skin tone would lighten a little more. My mother was born and bred in Nigeria but when she came to England, her skin tone went from dark chocolate to carmamel/choc, due to the climate. Other than that, Ri is clearly light skinned. I swear some Black ppl are so stupid.

@onliner10000 It doesn't have anything to do with money but age. The chemicals used to perm hair are generally not used for kids because their skin is more sensitive. When most black girls become teens they start perming / weaves etc. It also has nothing to do with "trying to look white" and more to do with making the hair manageable and easy to style on a day to day basis. A black woman with natural hair cant simply hop in the shower, wash hair, blow dry and head out to work in the morning.
