Hmmm... That sounds very discouraging. I just got into wholesaling houses in the NY/NJ area so I don't have anywhere enough money YET. But I know several people who are going to help me out and they are at the point where they make six figures a year doing 3 hours of work a day EASILY. The next step is to obviously have to not work at all by making residual income so they are thinking of renting and business ownership. Why'd you choose a theatre? You recommend owning anything else? So I say America stop blaming movie theater why they sell their food and drinks at a high cost. and start complaining to Lion Gate, Paramount any film producing company and say give movie theater like 30% or 20% or their profit to the theater since the movie theater have to have some way to pay the bills. I am sure the prices of the food and drink will decrease by at least 30 or 20 percent.

One reason movie theater charge so much money for there food and drinks is, they have to make some money to pay their employees and to stay in business. When theater sell movie tickets all the profit, they make off from selling tickets they have have to go to those filming company that makes the movie you watch in the theater. So the only way for movie theater to stay in business is to sell there food and drinks at high prices.

Movie theatres don't make alot from movies after the first week of release, so they jack up the price of concessions to make up the difference.

As he acctually mentions, there is no acctual rule against people bringing in their own food. its something the cinemas have become very good at pretending there is though. very few cinemas will turn you away from the cinema rather than let you bring in food. The only exception would be foods likely to stain like hotdogs dripping ketchup, but even then it's often allowed, as long as you use a napkin.
