we're all sinners. before i got saved, i was a drunk and a bulemic and a fornicator. i realized i was a sinner, repented and gave my life to Jesus. I stopped sinning habitually after that, although i still sinned at times. Still do at times, especially when I don't spend time with God. When you realize you are a sinner and need grace and holiness, and want to escape hell, you will come to Jesus. God will give you the power to stop sinning. That means he'll deliver you from being gay.

Hmmmm....well I was raised by my mom and sister and without a father. I had no male role model in my life. My sister was my best friend and we played together and with her girlfriends. I did think it strange that I didn't want to play football and other sports...however, I never thought of myself as gay or desiring guys. It was peer pressure that said that I have to be gay because I had feminine characteristics and/or I was in denial. I finally gave in to that lie.....(see next comment)
I was pressured to be gay...and I think many (if not most) feel pressured to be gay as well. Because I grew up without a father doesn't make me a woman or a woman wannabee or make me want to seduce straight men who are not ever going to fill the void of my fatherless life. I think it's very strange how much authority people in the Bible. There is a law that says "thou shall not let a sorceress live". An all knowing God would have known witches don't exist. Also he would have known how problematic that law would become. Men wrote the Bible, and it probably wasn't inspired by God.

The SAME Apostle Paul also said in 1st Corinthians 14:34-37 tthat women were forbidden by God to speak during church meetings. Churches that imposed such a directive would most likely be shutting down in almost no time. So if God understands and allows such a change, what ELSE may He so do?

I just would like to set the record straight. I am a straight Christian male. Assuming Homosexuality is wrong, it wont keep someone from communing with a loving omnipresent God. They struggle with their identity and didn't choose to be this way but just are. God loves them and has promised salvation to them just the same.. It's a salvation issue not one of sin. What I meant to say is they desire to live a full, normal life, to be loved, and to be accepted.
The majority of them didn't choose that lifestyle. They are living a life which has attracted bigotry, and hatred from many, including the Christian community. We as Christians need to show love to them and to let them know that God loves them too. In 1st Corinthians1:6, homosexuality is mentioned but so is, idolatry, covetousness, and thievery. We commit at least one of these everyday.
That's precisely why God sent Jesus to cover these sins otherwise, if you use the logic in the scripture, we'd all be doomed without Him since we're all guilty.

This is a friendly exchange among Christians..I'm just merely saying that I think we should try to reach out to them more and show less judgment and more understanding. Many of them don't know how to change there lifestyle and are locked into that stronghold. It will take much prayer, and an open heart.

This is a great and courageous testimony. The power of Christianity is in the message of love. Whenever we hear the statements of any human (including all people posting here, all religious leaders, all ministers, all people on the street), let us consider how their statements further love. What you are referring to are the Old Testament Mosaic Laws. There were 613 of them scattered throughout the Bible. They were given by God to Moses for the JEWS ONLY over 4000 years ago. They were not for the gentiles (you and I), nor the Greeks nor the Egyptians nor any other people, JUST THE JEWS. Lastly, when Christ died on the cross for YOUR SINS, a New Covenant was established between God and man. Under this New Covenant, man is no longer subject to the Mosaic Laws of the Old Testament.

we're all sinners. before i got saved, i was a drunk and a bulemic and a fornicator. i realized i was a sinner, repented and gave my life to Jesus. I stopped sinning habitually after that, although i still sinned at times. Still do at times, especially when I don't spend time with God. When you realize you are a sinner and need grace and holiness, and want to escape hell, you will come to Jesus. God will give you the power to stop sinning. That means he'll deliver you from being gay.

Hmmmm....well I was raised by my mom and sister and without a father. I had no male role model in my life. My sister was my best friend and we played together and with her girlfriends. I did think it strange that I didn't want to play football and other sports...however, I never thought of myself as gay or desiring guys. It was peer pressure that said that I have to be gay because I had feminine characteristics and/or I was in denial. I finally gave in to that lie.....(see next comment)

I was pressured to be gay...and I think many (if not most) feel pressured to be gay as well. Because I grew up without a father doesn't make me a woman or a woman wannabee or make me want to seduce straight men who are not ever going to fill the void of my fatherless life. I put myself (including my body) through these deceptions and I'm so thankful to be out of that immoral community. You can say you're gay and a christian but it's not true. It's a deception. God hates sin, but not sinners. Basically, God hates homosexuality, but not homosexuals. God doesn't even hate trolls. I'm a Christian and I know God detests some of the things I do, but I also know his love for me is neverending, and considering the amount he hates my sin, it makes his love for me all the more impresive. So yeah, the bible's take is that gay people are guilty, but just as guilty as me or anyone else, because God's standard is so high that we can only be saved through grace

I think it's very strange how much authority people in the Bible. There is a law that says "thou shall not let a sorceress live". An all knowing God would have known witches don't exist. Also he would have known how problematic that law would become. Men wrote the Bible, and it probably wasn't inspired by God.

I think Jesus accepts and loves everybody including LGBT people. We must be glad that there are so many people who are drawn to Jesus. Jesus never denies. I just would like to set the record straight. I am a straight Christian male. Assuming Homosexuality is wrong, it wont keep someone from communing with a loving omnipresent God. They struggle with their identity and didn't choose to be this way but just are. God loves them and has promised salvation to them just the same.. It's a salvation issue not one of sin. We all sin and fall short of the kingdom of God. No sin is greater than the other. Peace!

This is a friendly exchange among Christians..I'm just merely saying that I think we should try to reach out to them more and show less judgment and more understanding. I think I am just looking at this as a ministry, to try and help, not condemn, and to be more understanding of what they are going through. Many great people, who are honest, God-fearing, and sincere with their struggle live through it everyday.

if you think that the old law is null and void. Christians
may not be under the letter of the law since it was given
to the Nation of Israel, but the principles are perpetually
binding. Also what does the law have to do with the
sex ethics? especially when they're addressed within

altered, the only difference is that its not a capitol offense
punishable by death.

What you are referring to are the Old Testament Mosaic Laws. There were 613 of them scattered throughout the Bible. They were given by God to Moses for the JEWS ONLY over 4000 years ago. They were not for the gentiles (you and I), nor the Greeks nor the Egyptians nor any other people, JUST THE JEWS. Lastly, when Christ died on the cross for YOUR SINS, a New Covenant was established between God and man. Under this New Covenant, man is no longer subject to the Mosaic Laws of the Old Testament.

It is a sexual SIN just like fornication, adultery, prostitution or pedophilia. That SIN separates you from God and HIS WILL for your life. No one can free himself from homosexuality. ONLY CHRIST has both the power to forgive you of that sin and to FREE YOU from it.

Love CANNOT and NEVER will separate someone from God. Two people in a monogamous same sex relationship are not going to be separated from God as long as they are born again Christians, repent of their sins and live a Christ like life. Homosexuality ISN'T A SIN, do some research.

There is an increasing number of gay Christian men & women who will come out for Christ and be who they are while at the same time reject the promiscuity, reject the stereotypes and find and eventually marry (wherever possible) the one of their same gender whom they love and show forth the works of Christ within their lives. They are living proof that God is no respecter to persons, that homosexuality (in and of itself) is a great mystery and a gift. God loves His gay and lesbian children.

katarvavita give it up. Your spelling and writing tell us a great deal about your lack of education. I've read and studied the bible for decades since I was a little boy. I even graduated from seminary and also studied the Bible and religion for several years at a well-known university. You're interpretation of the clobber passages (the ones you claim to be anti-gay) and my interpretation are vastly different, mine being based on an archeological, cultural and linguistic understanding.

There are millions of people who do not interpret those passages you do on homosexuality the same way you and those of your bigoted and brain washed ilk do. There are millions of Christians who disagree with the way those passages (especially in the New Testament) have been translated. There is plenty of evidence that those passages have been translated in an anachronistic way placing a more modern worldview over their original meanings.

The Bible is clear about homosexuallity. Along with the obvious scriptures against homosexuallity, it's also a sin to fornicate aka have sex outside of marriage. According to the Bible, marriage is a union between 1 man and 1 woman in order to bare children. Marriage between gays are only recognized by man/government, not God. Therefore, every sexual encounter between a gay couple is a sin. Believe in the Lord Jesus & Repent (Turn From Your Sins) & He Will Give You A NEW Heart With NEW Desires!

We just can't ignore the scriptures against homosexuallity. We also can't ignor how God defines marriage or defines fornication as sin. If throught the eyes of God fornication is a sin & He doen't recognize a gay marriage then what should our conclusion be? I'm not talking about the legality of marraige but rather how the Bible defines marraige, We were not designed for homosexuallity. We may have a desire to do something but that doesn't always make it the right thing to do. We all desire sin.

saltyTRUTHseeker the bible doesn't exactly define marriage the same way throughout the Old and New Testament. Polygamy is rampant in the Old Testament including through the Patriarchs. Jesus descended through a polygamous family. The household of David. David was a polygamist. Many Christians still have a very tough time dealing with that.

iruha1 there are thousands and thousands of gay Christians who have gone through the professional "ex-gay" revolving door and there are thousands who have come out as former ex-gays. It just does not work for the vast majority of gay Christians. Sorry but it's just not God's plan. The ex-gay ministry programs supported by a lot of anti-gay Churches is just pure snake-oil. Someday the Church will be forced to face up to that reality.

There are hundreds of thousands of gay Christians who worship the Lord in affirming Churches who support and love their gay members for who they are not loving them as "strugglers" with a "problem" to overcome.
