There were other heroes; think of the German paratroopers who are not allowed a memorial in the Merkel's world they call Germany and the men from the FFL we flew into Cambodia and elsewhere in our Nord Atlas, knowing too well the Generals were still fighting the war of 1914. .....or the English lads in Korea, Malaya and every other shit hole 'they' send men to....and I remember both the cold and hunger.....but hey! at least we were allowed to smoke!! Comparatively speaking Mike, I had it "easy". Fortunately enough, I never slept in a fox hole, never had to eat those rancid "rations." It was primitive, but reasonably comfortable. Two 18 wheeler trailers, a shed fixed in between, the communication center. It was tight in there. Never had to shoot at anybody, but I would look at that weapon.....would I, could I? Wanting desperately to get back to "the world", I would have, I could have. The folks around me sure made it necessary too. bob
