A-why should i care that his death is "humane" B-why should he be treated any better than my Mother, who was never considered as a human C-what is your acceptable alternative for the rapist and murderer of my Mother who poses a threat to my daughter and wife. I disagree with the makers of this film. They chose to lump the executions of sadistic, multiple killers of innocent victims with those who commit genocide because of racial, ethnic, religious, and political reasons. So, the execution of a serial killer who victimized the innocent, and after a trial by jury is every bit as inhuman as genocide and massacres of the innocent by the state. To me, it's not the same thing. Having said this, I have to say that I am not "gung ho" on the death penalty.

Why in the same film put on the same point death penalty and mass killing, genocide of people in the 20th century. This is two different subject.

Dr. Guillotine was not the inventor (maker) of the machine but he was a deputy who wrote and submitted the law that was adopted by the assembly during the Revolution. He thought that this way of execution was "clean" and radical without technical problems avoiding pain for the condamned . In his mind it was a "progress" for mankind like all the laws Revolution "gave" to the world. It was also a question of equality behind the death penalty that was different before if you were rich or poor.

Just wanted to point out that Dr. Beaurieux's experiment on consciousness after being Guillotined is purely anecdotal, and that the observed blink could have just as easily been the result of the ensuing involuntary muscle spasms following such severe spinal trauma. I applaud the film makers effort, but I got the impression that he selectively included certain facts to make a point. Again, good work, not trying to bash it.

Two anomalies two lies/fake facts in this documentry...

(a) Stoning is not used as a form of punishment in Pakistan. It is unconstitutional in Pakistan. There are strict laws against the act. This documentary is completely biased as far as its facts are concerned.

(b) Stoning is Un-Islamic and the people who supposedly do it on religious grounds follow the teachings of radical Mullahs who are a disgrace to Islam. Islam strictly prohibits this violent act.

Digitising the actual exicutions makes a mockery of this documentery cencorship is something we can do without. By censoring the footage and still showing it, the film makers are doing exactly what the film is complaining about i.e. sanitising it so that it is not so disturbing, and by doing so tuning it into entertainment. wathing a documentary about exicution SHOULD make you feel uncomfortable and a bit desturbed, otherwise people watching this will not be so compelled to make a stand on it.

They had some Florida kid recently that was lured to his ex-girlfriends house where she and some other guys beat him,shot him, burned his body and put the ashes in paint cans..they deserve to be executed. I believe even if the state stops executing then vigilantism will rise causing innocent people to be killed. I think it's better to have the option and only use it will heinous crimes like i described and there is no doubt
