@PSTube1000 I don't think she died from falling on something. While she did indeed fall, the branches probably twisted her body in a way it wasn't meant to go and ended her that way.
i think the camera crew set this scene up. 1) the tree didn't look that tall 2)how would the lion break its back 3) the lioness would have dropped to the floor
lol sorry to insult you mate but your an idiot. Leapords have locking wrists and ankles. Lions dont, and likely never will, thats why lions cant climb and leopards can and also why is extremely dangerous for a lion to climb a tree like the lead lioness did.
well, as much as I hate to say this, in the end it's the lions who won (*is a leopard fan*). U_U after all, they got the impala AND one extra corpse to feed on.
Chilolo's a badass, but even he ain't no match for a lion. Ironically enough, the tree was... It's kinda startling to see the aftermath, but one has to understand the severity of the drought at the time of filming. These cats were starving and desperate.
I don't get it... How could a lioness have broken her back if she's hanging by her back legs... sure she could have broken or dislocated her legs, but the back is just too much of an unlikely place.
Have I missed something? Because nobody else seems to have picked up on it...
Well it wouldn't suprise me, I've seen a housecat fall from an upstairs window without breaking anything so I don't get how a lioness hanging by her legs could have broken her back.
her legs got caught in the tree therefor her back snapped with all her weight being pulled down and some pulling the other way its quite hard to explain but when you know exactly how it happend its quite easy to understand esp when you watch that episode
Your back can't snap if your weight gets pulled down, I could understand her legs being broken or pulled out of their sockets, but the back is too much of an unlikely place to break.
ofcorz it can break, u imagine the weight of a lion and its back being pulled 2 different ways ofcorz its going to break. hu gives a shit anyways... the lion broke her back and died and thats all there is too it
It's not about the weight of a lion, a lions weight is proportionately similar to any other feline the strength of her legs is enough to keep her back from breaking that's why from that short of a distance in terms of gravity and the angle she fell at I just can't see how she broke her back.
I actually wasn't going to reply to your comment seeing as though you either can't read or failed to understand what I wrote but It's a little hard so whatever...
First I said PROPORTIONATLY similar to any other feline meaning relative to body size and muscles mass it is similar.
Second before you call anyone retarded learn to read.
The only feline the lion is similair in wieght to is the tiger. Proportional? There is a big difference between 200 pounds and 350 as far as I'm concerned.
@Oliiiverr I know perfectly well what proportionaly means. I just think comparing a lion with any other cat apart from the tiger is like saying a slim person is proportionally similair in weight to a obese person. It just doesn't make sense. Look at a picture of a lion or tiger next to a 6ft man, they are absolutely huge.
A leopard weighs around 150 pounds, lions and tigers will weight anything from around 280-700. A female lion is in the lower quartile of that range. There is a big difference between 280 and 150, like I said, like comparing an obese person to a slim person, not at all proportionally similair, especially as weight has a huge effect on body functions.
A fat person and a thin person can't be compared proportionately
Only 2 fat people or 2 thin people can be compared proportionately
It isn't like comparing a fat person with a thin person because a 500 lb lion is not fat now is it? And a Leopard weighing 150 lbs is not thin now is it?
Being proportionately similar means if that leopard was magnified to the size of a lion it would weigh a similar weight
I can't believe I'm even bothering to explain this...
Why are you suddenly trying to make yourself correct by switching to size? This was a discussion about weight, the lionesses weight collapsing upon her, that's what you were talking about, my point is, it wouldn't have the same effect on a lighter animal, e.g leopard.
And I also take it you have never seen a lion or leopard from all the nonsense you've been spreading.
I'm sorry, but I think it was you who originally started trying to correct me on proportionate weight so I simply corrected you instead, as proportionately a lion or lioness is similar in weight to any other feline...
If you wanted to talk about why I didn't think a lioness could have her back broken back when he was hanging by her legs all you had to do was say.
I don't consider a lions weight proportionally similair to any feline, lions and tigers are in a different wieght category from Cougars, Leopards and Cheetahs, I consider the latter 3 proportionally similair, lions are much heavier than the average feline weight (jaguar, leopard, cheetah, cougar etc.), so therefore cannot be considered proportionally similair in weight to any other feline apart from the tiger.
fabregas, you are a dumbass because u clearly dont know the meaning. and oliiiver you know the meaning but are actually wrong on them being similar. maybe if u think of it this way. a male lion weighs 400lbs on average and is 7ft 1inch long head to ass. a male jaguar weighs 215lbs on average and is 5ft 6inch long head to ass. for every inch the lion weighs 4.7 lbs. for every inch the jaguar weighs 3.2 lbs. thats 1.5 lbs difference. that means if a lion were jaguar length he would weigh 310 lbs
You can't conclude on the basis of length, you need to take height, head size, paw size etc into account. All felines appear to be proportionately similar in this respect. With the exception of cheetahs who seem to be more primitave.
@FullBloodedHmoob You are absolutely correct... However, you are incorrect at putting the blame on the regular "people." The government are the ones who should be regulating these types of things... but instead, they let the wealthy and elite use this country as their financial playground, while they use our tax dollars to fuel their war machine. Trust me, none of us are happy about it.
A leopard is no match for a lion or a tiger. They know that so thats why they don't fight. They use their superior climbing abilities to avert dieing.
In terms of size and body strength, the lion has the upper hand. However, leopards have much stronger jaws than the lions. Their jaws are known to be the most powerful in the feline cat family.
That shows the Leopard has sense. A Leopard weighs maybe 125lbs, and a Lioness weighs in at 250-350 lbs. The Leopard is no fool to take on those odds.
Male Leopards average 200 lbs. Lionesses average 250 lbs. . . Theoretically a male leopard could kill a lioness. . . but wouldn't take the chance. Size is nothing. No one ever remembers that a 35 lb Fishing Cat attacked and killed a 150 lbs African leopard in a zoo in thailand.
I feel so bad for the lioness. I just hope she didn't have cubs to nurse.
As for the people saying lions don't have morals...you do realize that the MOST DANGEROUS animal in the world is HUMANS. Only the HUMAN animal kills for fun and pleasure.
When a lion, leopard, cheetah or any other four legged predator kills, they kill for survival.
there is no need to be sad in nature! sadness does not exist! I feel only sad when stupid human beings get involved in Nature and kill everything around...
Thats why Leopards are at home in the trees dew to the fact they have locking ankles & the Lions dont they both can go up & both can come down but when a lion climbs down it doesn't have the tools & in this case fatal for the lion.
I do feel sorry for the lion yes it stole the Leopards meal and the rule of Karma played its part the lion dies on the way down from this meal then becomes one to her own kind.
but ur opinion comes at the cost of your ignorance. i was just trying to point that out. lion's dont have morality in the sense we do. if it attacks its because it needs to eat. theres no right or wrong because its a zero sum game. the prey lives, hte lion could potentially die. the lion lives, the prey dies. there are no jerks here.
way to sidestep the real issue by talking about things that dont matter. my age. my grammar. but you know exactly what im talking about and you know im right and still you resort to being silly about spelling. why do u have to be so stubborn?
Because I already explained myself. xD All you keep saying is, "You're ignorant and an idiot for calling a lion a jerk because lions don't have morals."
I know lions don't have morals. They're just being opportunistic and taking what they can. We all know this.
But I'm a human, not a lion. I can call an animal whatever I want.
But since you say I can't, then you better tell all the people in the world who call a dog stupid, or a cat mean, or a chicken ugly that they're wrong and ignorant.
some dogs are more intelligent than others, some cats more aggressive and some chickens vary from the norm of what we might think chickens look like. but lions cant be more jerks than other lions. that doesnt make sense.
you just contradicted yourself by going off on something else besides your original subject. look at what you typed in your last reply...
and any animal can be more of a "jerk" its not just a human characteristic. its applies to how someone, or in this case something, reacts. if you do some research felines kill for fun so its not just for food. it could, also, be defense also or for territory gains..
hahaha wtf are u saying. you had to have gone to college to have common sense? get a life? how is that supposed to do anything for your argument. ok... im gonna go get a life. i dont get you that was such a dumb thing to say. u dissapoint. im get bored with you.
Jeez atleast learn to type correctly before you start calling others moron, soft minded & silly. If anything that act of good grammar was silly. It's just the internet lets not try to be so high & mighty you gain nothing from it here.
Umm typeinbolivianbug is totally right, you fools. How can a lion be a jerk? The very notion is laughable. I want to make this very clear, because it seems like you're all complete idiots:
Your understanding of morality is the product of your socialization. The same sense of morality is not universal amongst all species, nor even amongst all humans. You were NOT born knowing that it is "wrong" to kill/steal/rape/etc.. These are ideas that you picked up from others and internalized as your own.
They say lions are not built for climbing, but that lioness climbed up the tree pretty damn good, maybe they're just not built for climbing back down, I felt sorry for her.
Where did this clip come from? I think this is such an exciting documentary.

The lion got greedy, ray up a tree took the panther's meal of him/her, dropped the late night snack, then broke her back trying to get after it.
And if that wasn't enough then gets eaten by her greedy comrades.

fabregas360 2 years ago
Okay we're just going around in circles here, you REALLY need to learn the meaning of proportionately.
Yes lions are a few 100 pounds heavier but their weight is proportionately similar to that of a cougar leopard jaguar etc.
Meaning if a 10 pound domestic housecat was magnified to the size of a lion they would weigh the same.
I'm not sure how much more clear I can be...
Oliiiverr 2 years ago
fabregas, you are a dumbass because u clearly dont know the meaning. and oliiiver you know the meaning but are actually wrong on them being similar. maybe if u think of it this way. a male lion weighs 400lbs on average and is 7ft 1inch long head to ass. a male jaguar weighs 215lbs on average and is 5ft 6inch long head to ass. for every inch the lion weighs 4.7 lbs. for every inch the jaguar weighs 3.2 lbs. thats 1.5 lbs difference. that means if a lion were jaguar length he would weigh 310 lbs

and how can a leopard stand against a lion 2 times his weight and size ? it's like u trying to fight with a bear ... try it and then talk trash
Jagadai007 2 years ago 2
That shows the Leopard has sense. A Leopard weighs maybe 125lbs, and a Lioness weighs in at 250-350 lbs. The Leopard is no fool to take on those odds.
mjp2501 2 years ago 3
Male Leopards average 200 lbs. Lionesses average 250 lbs. . . Theoretically a male leopard could kill a lioness. . . but wouldn't take the chance. Size is nothing. No one ever remembers that a 35 lb Fishing Cat attacked and killed a 150 lbs African leopard in a zoo in thailand.
BeN790450 2 years ago
Male African leopards average between 150 to 170 pounds, African lions average between 265 to 420 pounds.

Leopards prove that cunningness is more important than strength or speed, that's why there are more leopards around than lions or cheetah's
Makreel44 2 years ago
I feel so bad for the lioness. I just hope she didn't have cubs to nurse.
As for the people saying lions don't have morals...you do realize that the MOST DANGEROUS animal in the world is HUMANS. Only the HUMAN animal kills for fun and pleasure.
When a lion, leopard, cheetah or any other four legged predator kills, they kill for survival.
Survival of the fittest.

Lefty75uk 3 years ago
I do feel sorry for the lion, even though they're jerks and kill other predators or steal from them whenever they can.
SecksTheSniper 3 years ago
fucking idiot. dont apply ur abstract morals to animals.
typeinbolivianbug 3 years ago 5
Oh, so sorry I offended the Lion King fan who learned from Disney that Lion are heroes and Hyenas are villains. :0
It's true, lions DO kill other predators and steal their kills at ANY chance they get.
So don't call me an idiot for stating a fact, ESPECIALLY when you type like "UR." >__>
SecksTheSniper 2 years ago
moron, i know u stated a fact. thats not wat i was attacking you for. a lion can't be a "jerk" u soft minded silly individual.
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
That's like saying a dog can't be "stupid."
It's an opinion, and it's really childish to get your panties in a bunch just because someone has one different than your own.
SecksTheSniper 2 years ago
but ur opinion comes at the cost of your ignorance. i was just trying to point that out. lion's dont have morality in the sense we do. if it attacks its because it needs to eat. theres no right or wrong because its a zero sum game. the prey lives, hte lion could potentially die. the lion lives, the prey dies. there are no jerks here.
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
I'm ignorant for having an opinion because lions don't have morals? Wow. I'm not even going to argue with you anymore, you're probably 12. >__>
And if you're not, then I'm sorry but you act and type like it.
SecksTheSniper 2 years ago
way to sidestep the real issue by talking about things that dont matter. my age. my grammar. but you know exactly what im talking about and you know im right and still you resort to being silly about spelling. why do u have to be so stubborn?
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
Because I already explained myself. xD All you keep saying is, "You're ignorant and an idiot for calling a lion a jerk because lions don't have morals."
I know lions don't have morals. They're just being opportunistic and taking what they can. We all know this.
But I'm a human, not a lion. I can call an animal whatever I want.
But since you say I can't, then you better tell all the people in the world who call a dog stupid, or a cat mean, or a chicken ugly that they're wrong and ignorant.
SecksTheSniper 2 years ago
some dogs are more intelligent than others, some cats more aggressive and some chickens vary from the norm of what we might think chickens look like. but lions cant be more jerks than other lions. that doesnt make sense.
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
you just contradicted yourself by going off on something else besides your original subject. look at what you typed in your last reply...
and any animal can be more of a "jerk" its not just a human characteristic. its applies to how someone, or in this case something, reacts. if you do some research felines kill for fun so its not just for food. it could, also, be defense also or for territory gains..

what is your education ? American public high school ? the laughing stock of the whole world ?

hahaha wtf are u saying. you had to have gone to college to have common sense? get a life? how is that supposed to do anything for your argument. ok... im gonna go get a life. i dont get you that was such a dumb thing to say. u dissapoint. im get bored with you.
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
Jeez atleast learn to type correctly before you start calling others moron, soft minded & silly. If anything that act of good grammar was silly. It's just the internet lets not try to be so high & mighty you gain nothing from it here.
SuRihtanil 2 years ago
me critiizing her use of jerk had nothing to do with grammer. its about her point of view about how a lion coudl be a jerk.
typeinbolivianbug 2 years ago
Umm typeinbolivianbug is totally right, you fools. How can a lion be a jerk? The very notion is laughable. I want to make this very clear, because it seems like you're all complete idiots:
Your understanding of morality is the product of your socialization. The same sense of morality is not universal amongst all species, nor even amongst all humans. You were NOT born knowing that it is "wrong" to kill/steal/rape/etc.. These are ideas that you picked up from others and internalized as your own.
