  • Many artists I have contact with, price by the square inch. Establish a price per/square inch, for each piece - taking into consideration the cost of materials. (It may be .85 or .55 per sq. inch, depending on what materials you used for that piece)

    Next, you times the length of the piece by the width. ie: 40 x 60 = 2400 then multiply that by your price per square inch. 2400 x .55 = $1,320

    People tend not to balk at the pricing when you do it this way. It is what it is - by the square inch.

  • An easy way to price work is £10/hour plus price of materials. :)
