@IMFDB That is actually the most stable way of holding it unless you want to get a busted shoulder in notime, and also overall fatigue is a factor as well if you hold it close to your body bicep will feel it in no time.

Most branches see it as a sort of go with what you feel like works for you be it close to the body or out to the side, what ever works best for you is the right way to do it.
