armonioso, los cementerios son un reflejo de la cultura de los pueblos (según quien te lo relate). Ojalá alguna vez visites el cementerio de La Recoleta en Buenos Aires, También es increíble
2:43 RIP Jim Morrison...you rest among Greats! Went to Pere-Lachaise just to see Jim Morrison, and left with so much knowledge of so many greats--Chopin, Proust, Wilde...the cemetery's sculptures and landscape are absolutely amazing and yes, one can get 'lost' in there...I learned that the hard way!
How haunting and beautiful! This has re-energized my ambition to go out there. Even brush up on my French. You have really created an atmosphere. I went to London in 1977 but never made the dash from there to Paris during my 3 weeks in the UK. I always thought I'd get back "soon". Thanks again.
Wonderfull place, I live in Paris suburb and I never spent a bit of my time to visit Père Lachaise cimetary. I realize that I should, and I will go there this week : )
to fontanetti: Wow, thanks for the video--brought back really great memories from the one time I was there in 2002...it's such a beautiful place with all sorts of different monuments...and to have that many INCREDIBLE, FAMOUS, AND GENIUS individuals burried there...it's an incredible experience...thanks again.
I loved watching this almost perfect video, I missed my favorite, the courageous journalist Victor Noir, his monument is lovely, though sadly a bit careworn due to bizarre behavior on the part of some visitors.
Here in Chicago we have a cemetary called Graceland that houses some famous and infamous bodies, with a number of spectaculer monuments. It does not compare favorably with Pere Lachaise. I could stroll along it every day, but must settle for Graceland, it's here after all.
i love pere lachaise, it is perhaps my favorite place ever. i always go there when i get to go to my favorite city, paris. thank you for the beautiful images.
a couple of spaces over from isadora duncan to the right (in the columbarium) is a mr. victor f*cker, no word of a lie! bless that poor fellow! you could spend all day every day for a month and not get to see everything. i'd like to have my ashes scattered there...
I am thrilled that I found this video. I visited Pere Lachaise with my school 11 years ago, we only had about 2 hours to go exploring, and I didn't get to see a tenth of its beauty and serenity. Magnificent work, thank you for sharing!
So many beautiful images, especially of my beloved Chopin and Oscar Wilde. And the music is very appropriate. Thank you so much Mr. Fontanetti for this beautiful video.
Thanks for the comment Romero, to be honest to you i did not find Edith's grave, there were too many and you get tired after a few hours walking... next time I will by a map. Regards from London, Clodoaldo
A beautiful video...I lived near here this past summer...such a wonderful place. My daughter and I loved it so much! So much history, so much beauty...thank you for this perfect video.
I've had dreams of visiting this cemetery(and getting lost in it), and I'm amazed at the accuracy of it all. beautiful video, beautiful music. If I'm ever that lucky to visit I would take photos of all of the details that no one picks up on(and see if I can find my way around!)
i think cemeteries as old as this are worth visiting when you're in paris. the catacombs would be too. i never got the opportunity to do that last time i was there, so i really appreciate this vid!

Pere Lachaise is an excellent place to spend a morning/day in Paris - historic and ethereal place of contemplation. Thanks for uploading.

The first song on here sounds like Greensleeves, but could you please tell me who sings it?
Great video, by the way. I think I've fallen in love with this cemetery, oddly enough.

Very nice images - and very nice music. It's
a pleasant memory for me; I spent one whole day
there before I had to leave Paris.

Lovely, I love personally the addition of Silent Night in the beginning....Although, sit on the ground before you sit on a headstone. It's courtesy.

What a lovely video. You really put a lot of thought into the editing of it. Did I catch a glimpse of Heloise and Abelard?
