I remember watching this episode on Showtime at The Apollo. She is so cool, she has alway's had that swagger. Truly in a class all by herself. Her style, her voice and her beign is missed. R.I.P.
I hated the way she (Teena) was so underrated as a musician, writer and producer and this because she was a woman. The music industry treats women musicians so badly. They can't accept the fact that women can have just as much talent as writers, producers, directors and anything else in power.

@M0ofi32012 You said it - the real deal, raw and true to her self and for artist to stand up for themselves and their music. She was not cranked out by Big Corp Music industry, never used her looks (or got plastic surgery) or allowed fashion to have a part in her music or to promote herself.
She also refused to be held hostage to a record label controlling her and her music. In her words; "When I left Motown they sued me and I counter sued and won." The Real Deal in every way!
