  • WHYYY DOES IT HAVE TO COST 1000 $ FUCK

  • After trying to use C4D and having used Maya in the past I must say Modo seems very easy to use but man the workflow is so different than any other package. There lies it caveat and why it isn't the number one package imo. This will take me a month just to get used to it, many pros don't have that amount of time so they do not switch over, but the way you cut up the cube at the start C4D's knife tool just can't, as easily, compete.

  • Bevel worked for me with the holes, but when it comes to beveling the edges, it didnt get smooth like yours. What am i doing wrong???

  • got a question. How do you round the borders of the points?

  • thanks

  • 6666 exibiçoes

  • thanks for the video... its the first one i watch, its a really easy tut, and your explanation are fun not boring at all, =) thank YOU

  • I'm having a problem. While selecting the vertices, I'm only capable of selecting one. You selected nine on a single side, but I can't select more than one. Any idea what the problem is?

  • Besides selecting 9 vertices you missed one very important thing about dice:

1 is the oposite side of 6.

Or, the sum of opposite sides of a dice is always 7.

Also, with 1 on top, you make the 2 on the front and the 3 on the left. Then you know where the other values are by adding up to 7 to the opposite sides of these three.

Another thing I'd like to point out, a mistake of all dice tuts: the dots are always either too small, or too large. Just like if no one pick a real die for reference.

  • I have a question for you, I'm new to Modo and was wanting to model a low poly tree, I just can't figure how to get the transparency to work.

  • Cool tutorial....!! hope to see some new one from you soon!

  • The sum of the numbers of 2 opposite sites always has to be 7!

  • how do u put more dots without letting the other ones vanish?

  • very nice video and clearly explained!!! thanks Apple Soldier : )

  • I dig your teaching style, thank you. These tutorials definitely help a ton.

  • how do you split the applications in you dock into section like that?

  • Yo thanx for the tutorial. keep it up

  • Awsomeeeeee 5/5

  • thanks

  • you have no idea what you are talking about, modo is an awesome modeller and is used in pixar as apposed to their bespoke maya based software....i love maya but saying such stupid things makes you look as retarded as this guy haha

  • hey thanks man but im no retard. why say that?

  • you are a tool, you support companies without getting payed for it....customer loyalty has boundaries and you constantly overstep them and jump into la la land....i use everything i need to get the job wither it has an apple a penguin or a flag it makes little to no difference...sure i have a preference but at the end of the day thats for you and noone else! who honestly cares if you find macs easier to use it has no bearing on anyone else.

just my two pennies (wrttien on OSX)

    peace

    brian

  • urg and on a shitty keyboard sorry im used to laptop keys

  • What are you talking about? Everything isn't about earning money. Don't you realize that he for instance train in producing this kind of tutorial?

  • i wasn't referring to the tutorial. I was commenting about the fact that he spreads misinformation and lies because he has some odd hyper obsession with apple products and brand. the idiocy for that is because apple don't pay him and wouldn't pay him...they probably don't even know or care that he exists.

that was why i made my comment his loyalty to a brand even going so far to say as if windows created something better he still wouldn't use it is just childish and idiotic.

    peace

    brian

  • well, joey... let's see your awesome skills using Maya. You obviously don't have a clue about what you are saying.

  • Nobody should take this joey kid seriously as he is likely a warez kiddie who can't even use Maya.

  • you are probably right :) although i love maya it is the best all round in my opinion its just a hog thats why i use modo for most of my modelling the move into maya for doing everything else.

although 401 is here and i have it installed cant wait to play more with it.

  • just becuase you spent over $1000 and is pissed that others can get it for free.

  • Hey nice vid. Your dock looks cool, how did you get it to look like that?

  • Thanks sooo much for the time you spent on making these easy to follow tutotials. My only experience with graphic applications is in Photoshop and Illustrator but need to learn about the 3D world. So I agree with what Emperordarius said. No pressure. :) Thanks Again.

  • Modo Land. I Love it!

Modo is a great application. Gonna get my 20" iMac this Saturday. Buy the Evaluation of Modo too, seing as it don't work on my PC. Another reason I hate windows!

    Great tutorials Eric.

  • You made 9 diamonds instead of 6.

  • i know, its in the description, thanks man

  • A die opposite sides add up to seven.

When you did the six the one would go on the opposite side.

  • your right, good eye to detail dude.

  • i assume you mean stuff like vrays, ray racing, bouncing, n-gons, sub-d surface, subdivided surface, etc? you mean educate people on what makes 3D, 3D? Yes i do. but that seems so boring to watch on youtube, lol

  • but you are right, i need to get to the fundamentals, your absolutely right.

  • Yeah, I think it's much easier if you know those things. Just like programming. If you know the fundamentals, you can learn most of the programming language easily, you just need to change the syntax.

  • Great tutorial. Sometimes on the tutorials from Luxology he goes way to fast and doesn't explain what keys he is pressing and just assumes you know what he is doing, but you don't do that. Great work

  • Thx very mush. You are making the best modo tutorials.I just got modo the day before :X

  • If you want to really teach about 3D animation, IMO you should start with the very basics, that is, theory, you know, the things that are common to all the 3D animation packages. Because if you learn that, you can pretty much use all the 3D packages, you just need to learn how to use their GUI.

  • not really because some other packages cant bevel points like modo. In other packages youd have to use booleans etc.

  • Good video, emeek.

  • um, one of those sides has 9 sides he he hee

  • lol, i know

  • Great tutorial, but I have never seen a die with 9 on one side :)

  • lol, i know

  • Good tutorial, bevel's look like a really simple way to make advanced object's.
