  • I'd imagine a few of the single deckers would stay on as heritage vehicles, and mabye crich would snap up a few. only time will tell.

  • @TheCatapultTV Maybe, but for the 'Centenary' vehicles (the modern looking cars), their time is almost up..

  • Good vid mate gettin them whilst there still here is a must!

  • @suncoolclose Indeed. You'd better get a wriggle on if you want to catch it before most of it dissapears; it will all be over within a few weeks.

    Cheers for commenting!

  • Thanks for sharing a moment in time !!!

  • @REGWARNE12 This was one of my very last chances to record Blackpool Tramway in it's old form, before the new order sweeps away most of these scenes forever from 2012 onwards. Thanks for commenting!

  • Hope you enjoyed the Brush car haulage, David! The single deck service certainly has it's advantages!

Great shot from the car at the end there!

  • @37057viking Thanks Rob; in particular, the bashing/photting of 632 will certainly become priceless now! Time is fast running out (as we're all to aware), so this was another great opportunity to scratch in some of the old stuff while it was still possible.

  • @theamateurbasher There was unrefurbished action in the shape of Balloon 715 at one time of day, but that has now been placed in the reserve pool, along with restored Balloon 717 and refurbished Balloon 700. Reason: Because the cars do not carry adverts. Shame really...

  • @37057viking Any ideas on the fate of the 'topless balloon', alias Princess Alice?

  • @theamateurbasher Rumours are not good, mate. News is that the tram is condemned due to rotting underframe and other outstanding problems. The nasty rumour flying around is that she is heading for the scrap man...

If so, another rumour is that stored Balloon 701 will be restored into an open top car.

  • @37057viking Uh oh!

  • @kampchick A handfull will be retained for summer use, but most have already been sold off for preservation or scrapping.

  • Nice video, glad to see you got plenty of footage of the Brush cars.

It's hard to believe it will be the end for these old trams in under five weeks time.

  • @dalrigh Cheers very much. It will be a particularly sad time for the Brush vehicles, more so for 632; I read in the Autumn issue of TRAMS MAGAZINE that it's contract with Blackpool Transport won't be renewed, so it was probably lucky that I scratched in a ride on this beast to North Pier. Plus, I believe the 'Centenaries' won't be back next year either...

Cheers for commenting and for your appreciation.

  • always nice to see the Blackpool Trams

  • @howarth004 Most of these scenes will be gone forever with the new order in 2012. Cheers!

  • Nice video! Proper trams and are much nicer looking than the modern plastic ones.

  • @EWS60008 Sadly, it's the latter breed of tram that will be taking over from 2012 onwards, so this was one of the last chances to record these scenes for prosperity. Cheers!
