Non religious straight couples shouldn't get married as much as gay couples shouldn't, make up your own ceromony and stop trying to steal ours (christain). You are married under god, if you want to get married under bob the builder then pressure your MP to introduce a bill called "bob the builder bill" that gives the same rights as marriage but isn't marriage. These days marriage is not sacred, look at how many people get divorced, completely forgetting their commitments to each other. Many STRAIGHT couples getting married due to premarital pregnancy. That, in my opinion is NOT sacred. I'm not much of a religious person, but I do believe in the 10 commandments, there is nothing about loving, or marrying someone of the same sex being a sin. In fact it promotes love, in general, not based on gender, race, sexual orientation. just love!

If you love someone and are committed to them, that's what marriage is about. I'm not gay, but support gay rights 100%. I have friends from all walks of life, all sexualities and races. We're all equal. Heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual, theres no differences in my eyes.

Everyone is theoretically born equal. We allow happily people who chose a religion to marry. But people who have been born equal, and so happen through no making of their own to be gay, are deprived of equal rights, due to a persuasion which they cannot chose. It is a matter of rights. They are not equal at birth.
