As rare as this is.. it happens. Neither player made the wrong play. Think about it... With A Q you might be thinking the other player has an ace with a lower kicker or nothing. Then you catch a queen and you're confident in your hand being in the lead considering the only thing that could beat you is a set, which is very unlikely. And of course Seidel will call just about any bet with his set of 8's. Of course Gus got lucky but he did not play the hand wrong.

No,he played it perfect. There is no way that this is "bad play", its called a cooler buddy. On the turn Seidel was a 92% fave to win the pot. And the fact that there's already to Q's out there, makes it even more difficult to put Gus on AQ. It's easy to criticise when you can see hole cards, but even the best are going broke in that spot.... the video speaks for itself lol.

could have easily been avoided on seidels half considering he is a conservative player compared to gus. a thought through and confident all in on the turn would have told gus "mate ive already hit more than you, lets cut the bullshit now" are you willing to chase down a 6 outer? granted this would no way work in online poker but possibly would in a live tourny. you jus have to work out where you stand at the table and whether your opponent is willing to back down.

Please read properly. I was more complaining about your comment than Gus' play. You say it even yourself: "He most likely thought he had the best hand". That's not a great play it's a misread. I posted because you admire a "great play" and a "good call" that were not there. Only tried to point that out. Also it's highly doubtful that the Pro's are successful because they suck out a lot. How does Gus even know Siedel has a set? Gus probably thought he had the best hand from the flop to the turn. He was not chasing anything. Imagine you had 2 pair AQ after the turn. You would think you had the best hand. The only bad move was Seidel going all in the end. He assumed Gus only had a set Q's. Gus didn't play this hand bad at all. Seidel donked though.
