Interesting Paul hasn´t written most of the text yet..I did hear many songs had a lot of rubbish words thrown to work them up be for the whole text was finished. Its a funny song . Its ok by me. The rhythm is music hall, but crazy rhythm which of course fits the psycho Maxwell
After 50 years, what does your opinion change? Nothing. Its a great song, it could have been on the white album, Sgt Pepper, and it would fit right in, but not on Abbey Road? The mere fact that it comes from a Beatle, makes it fit. End of Story. Does one after 909 fit on Let IT Be? It does because they put it there, although it was writen 10 years before. You don't have to like it, but please shut up with the opinions. They matter not in this case.
If it weren't for this song, Abbey Road would be the all-time perfect record album. Paul should have saved this for his solo career - it would fit right in alongside "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey". The other Beatles HATED this song. I've never liked it either.
@cindiloohoo552 - Harsh? Are you kidding? You want harsh, go read the interview that John Lennon did with David Scheff for Playboy in 1980. Now THAT'S harsh. All the other Beatles loathed this song - John in particular.
As for Bieber, I've never listened to him and never will, He seems like a little twit to me. He's not even talented enough to worry about bashing. Nothing wrong with McCartney, except that some of his songs were borderline stupid. So were some of John's. Big deal.
@smilinstevie88 I was talking about you being harsh. We all know that John Lennon was harsh.... at least those of us old enough to remember when the "band" was together. I was just saying you didn't have to be hateful to McCartney. He has produced a lot more than Maxwell's hammer. It really isn't a big deal. That was the point I was trying to make. "In the end....the love you give on You Tube is the love you take away from listening to music here."
@cindiloohoo552 - Fair enough cindiloohoo (cool screen name BTW). I don't think I was ever being harsh about it. All I was saying is that I really don't care for "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", that's all. I don't like "Revolution 9" either. Most of the Beatles stuff, I love. They're my favorite band by far. Most of Paul's songs, including songs from Wings and some other solo stuff, are outstanding. Paul put out the most consistently good music after the Beatles broke up. So I'm not bashing at all.
this song dont fit on abbey road...it comes off out of place...when i was a kid i liked it...i learned it on the piano...but now...i dont like it and skip it when i listen to abbey road

@smilinstevie88 Harsh, Stevie.... way harsh.
The other Beatles loved it so much they "whistled". Don't bash Paul. Go to a Bieber page... bash away.
