  • "she's performing homeland this wink at lincoln center" ha. speaking of which, i think i just accidentally did free-association writing while trying to write "it'll make the dogs feel more at home" in a text to my mother, i wrote "it'll make the dogs feel more important".

  • I happen to like this backdrop for DemocracyNOW[dot]org a lot better than the current CNN-emulating stuff with all the screens in the background. A nice inter-mix of two media people whose works I admire ... :-)

  • :)....

  • Is there a link to the full live performance of that first song?

  • A truly, truly, Human, She sees.

  • "...I realized what I lost was my country when we went to Iraq."

  • Laurie Anderson - the art of realness

  • I am sure Lauri Anderson would vote for Ron Paul now. Ron Paul would have gon e by the US constitution. The Democrats and the Republicans are the same. We were sold out in 1913 USA !

  • @Atlantaminuteman

I believe Laurie is beyond politics for a long time! :)

  • @oxiigen Not politics. A Social disorder that will effect her and everyone on earth.

  • @Atlantaminuteman Thanks! That's an interesting answer actually. Although I like Ron Paul, I think people should starve politics with an ignorance. The same goes for a bankers, lawyers, soldiers... If you vote and participate you just give your force to all that sick machines...

  • wrong

  • wrong as? I have listened to Laurie Anderson for 20 years. She would not vote for communists?

  • She always has something smart and thought provoking to say.

  • i have yet to see where any artist, musical or otherwise, has changed the world for the better, on a global scale. as long as there are humans, there will be the lust for power and wealth. and the musicians will just keep writing protest songs.

"We are the World"?... whatever became of that effort?

  • everything is vibration. without art, music, animals, etc... there would be no balance. change isn't something so superficial. it's deep. and i'm fairly certain that there's a lot more understanding and open-mindedness today because of art and music. i'm sorry if you're looking for an anvil; that's not how it works.

  • @madsketcher You. You are the future. Thank you. I love you.

  • I feel sorry for you.

  • "We are the World", yikes, horrible song. It did, however, raise over 63 million dollars, most of which is to help short and long term African famine relief.

  • madsketcher is completely correct - even on a scientific level!

  • what about annie lennox & her sing campaign? shez moving mountains. u must THINK before u make rash statements! i'm not trying to be contentious, i'm trying to show u a few things. i could write a mini novel. did u know it was leonardo da vinci who invented the helicopter? a machine used both in peace & war... think about that duality for now... then therez loads more to think about, if there weren't activists & artists showing up the filthy acts humans do - we'd swallow more brainwashing crap!

  • ...although I should point out that this opinion is solely based on supposition. He might make her very pleasant cakes for all I know. Anyway, the track at the beginning of this clip sounds much better than 'Only An Expert', which is a quite large relief.

  • I wish she'd never married Lou Reed. I bet he's horrible to her.

  • How do you know how the hell Lou treats her personally? Jealous, are we?

  • Read the second post again, dear.

  • Yes, and your supposition is garbage. So why say it, they have been together since the 90's. Again, you missed your chance with her, so get over it sweetie.

  • she's married to lou reed? i did not know that. so interesting.

  • I have the chance to live in the same area than Laurie Anderson

  • it's always fun watching amy speed through those credits like that!

  • I love Laurie Anderson.

I wish she'd invite me over to dinner.

  • I bet Lou Reed cooks a mean steak!

  • @KoroOutbreak me too! We would talk all night! :-)
