  • 4:20 video length xD

  • Are selling them and if you are how much and how big could you make it.lets just say 2x2 feet shoot me a price

  • Its the "tem-plate". wtf?

  • remember your safety glasses lol

  • @ catskillwoodgas:

Am I trippin'? It looks like the base of your drill press is somewhat centered in front of the chest of drawers behind it. But the drill head motor looks like it is on the right side of the CoDs. What gives. This is driving me batty!!! Nice vid though!

  • 35 peoples lives in the dark!!!!!!!!!

  • 220 V, 221 V, whatever it takes.....

  • CAN I USE LEDS IN A HOUSE WITH AC NOT DC WITH THE WAY YOU ARE DOING IT?

  • i dont have a local hardware store

  • @nc90awd they are industrial soldering irons....my dad makes ddr memory modules and they use those kind of soldering irons butt they are still better--so get one on amazon xD

  • I have just kitted my whole house out with GU10 LED Bulbs from a UK company called Wholesale LED Lights. Good Prices and fast delivery!

  • Hmmm...i'm going to use this drill press.......AAAGGHH MY EYE!!!

  • Will this be effective for my plant light?

  • @AmazinglyAgnostic if u have enough and of the right type, probably.

  • @TheGoodstuff69 ok........

  • @AmazinglyAgnostic yup- it should be pretty easy if you find the right website, and you'll be harvesting your weed in a few months, lol

  • @TheGoodstuff69 can you find me a good website?

  • Please be careful to say SOLDERING with an L and not SODDERING.

Soddering if it were a word would have a very different meaning !!

The same applies to SOLDER !!

  • 0:25 i heard you said something about penis sottering

  • how much voltage did it take to light it

  • just a new idea im sure the price would be cheaper your way but 16 wheeler big trucks have led lights on them close to this just an idea

  • do i have to kiss his hand at 1:55 or what :D

  • Haha he looks soo geeky! ^^

  • why can't Americans pronounce "soldering"?

  • @TBISubstance Because we don't always pronounce words the way they are spelled. I can say it like you but it would sound ridiculous.

  • @TBISubstance Because we don't always pronounce words the way they are spelled. I can say it like you but it would sound ridiculous to me because this is how we were taught.

  • @TBISubstance Because they are blissfully unaware of the possible meaning of SODDERING - If it were an actual word !!

  • You say remember to where your safety glasses and you don

    t even wear any lol

  • +1 @ 1:55

  • I know you probably already explained it during the video, but i got a few questions as i'm going to shop for LED supplies for replicas, i want to use either AAA or AA batteries as a power source, and i'd like to know what exactly i need, like what kind of LED's( 5mm Led's i figured) and what resistance do i need for either one? Thank you so very much in advance, i really appriciate whatever help you can give me.

  • lol..if you pause it on 2:23 he looks like a praying mantis

  • @Treazurer funniest thing ive ever read

  • Thanks for sharing!

I'm curious, what is the name of the flower chart above the kitchen table?

My wife is an avid gardener, and I think that chart (picture) would bring her and I pleasure. Thanks!!!

  • i have a bunch of LED's from old computers, how do I find the specs on these?

  • i like ur hair man

  • Maybe Casey should show us how to cut hair..........

  • @urbanterror59 allaboutcircuits(dot)com

  • I am totally interested in this for a project, where can I buy the leds in a 1/4 siliconed flex already put together or do i have to go through the trouble of making it myself?? anysuggestions?

  • THANKSS

  • ur going to build a light emitting diode light.

  • Those who comment on his hair or a "nerd" remember Bill Gates - and get a life... he is great, and looks cute just the way he his (former model). Being smart can have it's own appeal.

  • HOLY NERD

  • "Today we are going to build an LED. First you need some LEDs" Ironic huh?

  • @Pieisgood2me the guy trying to help u ediat we dont neeed to hear ur shitttt

  • @blazin20s Gosh if you are going to insult me at least spell it right. Last time I checked you dont spell idiot "ediat" so next time, use spellcheck.

  • @Pieisgood2me lool sorry

  • Cool thx!

  • Is there anywere I can get the diagram for this led light, can you use a wall cell phone charger for your power supply?

  • hey, can I use LEDs for growing marijuana indoors?

  • This guy looks so scared its like they are holding a gun to his head or something

  • radioshack LEDs are too expenive I recomend getting them from the Intrenet

  • u look so cute ! but u have to learn how to style your hair differently. get a hair cut

  • it's solllldering, not sodddering

    good video though

  • way to be professional and then NOT wear safety glasses

  • is it normal if it gets hot?i mean the wire..

  • Thanks. You are a very clear presenter. I liked the camera work, too :)

  • Great video! Thanks alot!

  • your voice is so annoying!

  • so

thisis is not how to build a led, argh

  • @wallaguest1 Hi, Do you have a video response or webpage you could direct us to so we could learn your method, too? Would be helpful. Thanks.

  • nice demo, please note soldering iron has an `L` in it,

    sold er ing

    not soda ring

thx, keep up the good work

  • @ToraxG Hi, I was really interested by how Casey said 'soldering', too. Actually, there's nothing wrong with it: it's called 'L-dropping', is a genuine linguistic phenomenon amongst native speakers of English, and shows the wonderful diversity of our spoken language. Think of how some people say words like 'milk' or 'vulnerable' (where the 'L' isn't pronounced) and you'll know what I mean. See Wikipedia the entry on the phonological history of English consonants if you want to learn more :)

  • Sweet! but Im gonna do letters instead

  • the vid is 4:20 long, lol. 420 4 life!

  • why not simulate with circuit wizard by new wave concepts?

  • Мне понравилось также как и вторая часть))))Кто нить может это перевести??????

  • Кто нить может это перевести??????

  • you look so gay hahahahaha

  • You should build a fleshlight.

  • Yeee... where is your safety glasses

  • do you know a way someone could make LED lights to put on a longboard?? and how to make them change colors

    Great video by the way:)

  • faget

  • no life

  • when I can get a 90w LED grow light for 159 us incl door delivery then it doesnt make sense to make your own LED grow light. unless you are studying.

They sell them everywhere ebay or pulsargrow(dot)com. Grow grow grow.

  • Did you not need an led driver for the power?

  • thanks for sharing

  • you mean roach clip

  • u smoke marijuana

  • hi,im italian .what do you spend for led?

  • I know right?

  • I am a volunteer firefighter and i was thinking about makeking my own blue lights for my car and was wondering if you could send me a list of what i would need to make it

  • hey you can not build a VU METER STEREO??

  • hey you can not build a VU METER STEREO??

  • Where do you buy your bulbs?

  • wow.. i rather go buy one

  • @mswoonc where is the fun in that? :3

  • you can also glue some shiny polished tinfoil on the socket as a backwall for the LEDs or something to spread the emitted light a little more.

Great instruction by the way :)

    Thanks for making and uploading!

  • People this is all a coincidence

  • if you are using a battery can you solder the wire to the battery? or would that not be good for the battery?

  • @hynata15 dont do that

  • the video length is 4:20

  • @pscpimponfofos your smart kid

  • could thing but i dont have the ironing thing the blue one

  • haha

  • How to build LED lights from scratch? Like making LED bulbs etc.

  • good luck

  • great info can you build a 90 watt cree led grow light blue and red? if so ill buy the materials

  • the soldering is easy and the setup is easy but id like to see a battry setup

  • Lol ur left hand at 1:55 XD

  • @rikiki17 "OH THTOP IT"

    lol

  • I was thinking the same thing lul

  • @proximxr lol.. who builds leds anyway haha. its probably cheaper to buy it from the store.

  • @rikiki17 hahahaha

  • @rikiki17 i laughed my ass off

  • ok n/m I figured it out. That previous rule is only for led`s wired in SERIES. PARALLEL wiring will allow a smaller power supply to run alot more leds but requires uniform led color and power draw, and too many lights wired in will cause uneven lighting and blown home fuses ( I think cuz amps are now compounding on themselves instead of volts like in series but dunno) Anyway, Parallel with this many lights is not recommended either.

  • I`m trying to learn how to wire LED`s for my aquarium, and I hear to determine the Powersupply needed, add 2 volts for the resistor, 2volts for each led and 4 volts for white blue and UV. so that 36 led light needs a 74 volt power supply?

Is this measurement for 5mm only? if my forward voltage is 3.4 and i used 36 leds wouldnt i need 122.4 forward voltages making it a 125 volt dc power supply?

  • WHAT???I'm Confused???

  • the wavelenght of the leds is .... ?

  • lol i wouldn't use a voltage regulator without any caps like this guy, just asking for trouble.

  • The speck sheet did not call for caps. I have had one of these lights running nearly continuously for two years and all 48 led's still light.

  • do you get much flicker or circuit breakers tripping for no known reason? if not maybe you got lucky and got a really generously designed power adaptor pack.

  • Hi what type of gas or how does the LED illuminate? Unlike Sodium Metal Halide & Mercury Vapour Lamps which has an arc tube filled with gas where the electricity make the gas illuminate Iv made some videos of High & Low Pressure Sodium Lamps, Metal Halide Lamps & Mercury Lamps firing up & changing colour as they warm up although iv never got round to LED,s

  • @catskillwoodgas so i´m not familiar with this, but what happens if i make a light with twice the ammount of LED´s u used???, what do i need to power them???, i mean if u have 72 LED´s what do i need to power them?? (u said u could use a simple transformer like a dc output kinda thing) how many voltage or amps do that would need(sorry my english is not too good, iam not from the USA) thnks

  • @Endolaylith It's a constant current load that he's not dynamically driving so it's really easy on the worst configured regulator to handle, but he shouldn't be using a voltage regulator without a means to limite the current

  • @Endolaylith what are the caps for??

  • carrot top

  • You explain very well - you should be a teacher!

  • If you didn't already know how to wire multiple things..you're an idiot.

  • GRATE VID!!! Im trying to make a waterproof led light form my Biocube sump. Its so hard these days, to not fined advertisements on YouTube now; its sad. The store wants around 15 to 20 bucks for one led. To much. I think I can mod that lid and seal it some how. Thanks again

  • how many volts do i need for 100 leds

  • where can i buy the lead lights?!?!ive went to home depot, autozone, ect and noting and i need some to do angel eyes for my car can u plz tell me?

  • I got mine from ledshoppe(dot)com

  • Can you say..

    Radioshack?!?!?

  • @fired71 radioshack, ebay

  • @fired71 ebay.....

  • @fired71 radioshack, it's great for everything electronic

  • @fired71 radioshack

  • @fired71 radio shack

  • excuse me but where could i learn what the hell all that stuff is and how to use it and such?

  • thank you for finally saying what im thinking wtf!!!

  • By reading books, and reading how to's on the net.

  • It's simple knowledge in a High School, or College level Electronics class.

  • i plkan on converting a desk lamp like this, but useing 10mm led's

  • is there a special kind or color led to grow lights with

  • DC Adapter it good for leds

  • I have the same soldering tool!

  • your a tool

  • tool is a band. tools is tool tool tool

  • Thanks for the awesome video! I'm a total newbie. Now, what if I wanted to connect 18 more lights: for a total of 54 (or more)? What else do I have to have in mind? I want to build a light box for drawing with a power switch. Is a standard 12v power supply ok? What about the resister or regulator? Thanks for making it simple to understand! Keep up the great work! You really are making a difference in this world.

  • put some CREE R2 emitters in there, it'll be fun

  • Thats in the works right now..

  • Hello Casey, admire your work. Can you do a detailed 32 x 8 =256 5mm (red or blue) LED's 12V DC batteries and solar cell operation tut your videos are very understandable. A+++

  • I like LED signs...ever since i first saw them i have always wanted to build one, but i see the wiring and

the resistors and all the parts and i see it hard to put it together...but i'm eager to learn maybe you can teach me through this website...i will appreaciate it a lot for your help. thank you.

  • where can you buy leds? or led lights?

  • maybe in the shop...

  • ebay has like 100 for 10 or 11 dollars
