Any thoughts what racing series was used as basic for this episode? I mean main part of episode not IndyCar.

@DJExDriver - yes, I believe these appear to most likely be the 'Player's LTD/GM Motorsport Series', which ran in Canada from 1986 through to 1992, using race-prepped Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Trans-Am cars. Check out website: playerschallengeseries.ca

@manuntd2009 Hey you're actually WRONG. Near the beginning of the episode, Hans Visser & Mr. Stickland are spying on the Phoenix Foundation's car's test session, and Visser, looking through his binoculars at the pitlane mutters "Macgyver..", to which Strickland says "Who??". Visser explains "Oh, someone I crossed on the Formula 1 circuit in Europe eight years ago".

I taped this episode when it was on originally (1988?)... And I remember recognizing the '84 Michigan wreck...

As for the part with Danny Sullivan spinning and Mikey's involvement in THAT one, Marco had to learn it from SOMEWHERE......right?
