It was a great game. Ohio State's secondary simply could not stop Colt McCoy and the Texas receivers. The Buckeyes were good, not great, and almost came away with the win. It was the best bowl game that year.

Ok no insults here. If buckeye fans are really expecting Pryor to have the same success as Young had, they are really setting themselves up for dissapointment. Young had one the most successfull careers in the history of college football. Not every mobile QB is going to have a career like Young. You really have to be in the right system, under the right coaches, at the right time. Pryor really hasn't done anything to warrant those type of expectations.
I'm not saying his career will be like Young's, But it will be similar, the only difference in those two is their passing ability, which came out in young later in his career.
They are both run first QBs and both make plays, stats don't really matter with Pryor, he makes things happen, hes a freshman you can't really expect too much out of him, but his playing style is similar to young's, not exactly like it.
And Pryor could have chosen Michigan where he could have started immediately.

Everyone will say that OSU is overrated but leave Oklahoma out the picture. And the Sooners have been doing badly in BCS games. OSU is good almost every year. They slip up to every now and then. I know your not an SEC fan but at least they try to schedule OOC competition as much as possible even if they are getting their ass kicked and the SEC hasn't really done that. And they travell to the opponents stadium unlike the SEC. UF, LSU, or UGA hasn't visited Big Ten country for some time.

FSU had a good team last year. If it weren't for suspended players they could have easily won 10-11 games in a much tougher conference. Lets not forget that FSU blew Wisconisn out of the water. FSU went 9-4 and had 23 players suspended for one game, and 4 starting WRs suspended for another. OSU went 10-3 in one of the worst conferences in America. OSU was not as good of a team as you think they were.

Why not? OSU loses Laurinitis, Jenkins, Wells and Hartline, yet they are already ranked in some preseason top 5's. Based strictly off hype from a QB who hasn't proven much. OSU did not deserve to be in a BCS bowl. They couldn't even win their conference and didn't have one impressive win all year. Ok no insults here. If buckeye fans are really expecting Pryor to have the same success as Young had, they are really setting themselves up for dissapointment. Young had one the most successfull careers in the history of college football. Not every mobile QB is going to have a career like Young. You really have to be in the right system, under the right coaches, at the right time. Pryor really hasn't done anything to warrant those type of expectations.

I'm not saying his career will be like Young's, But it will be similar, the only difference in those two is their passing ability, which came out in young later in his career.
They are both run first QBs and both make plays, stats don't really matter with Pryor, he makes things happen, hes a freshman you can't really expect too much out of him, but his playing style is similar to young's, not exactly like it.
And Pryor could have chosen Michigan where he could have started immediately.

Bragging about being able to be the starting QB at Michigan isn't really a compliment these days. They suck. But I think if Pryor did chose Michigan he could have put up "Vince Young like" numbers. Just because of Rich Rods offense. I don't think Pryor will put up numbers like Young did just because they play in two very different offensive systems. Tresesl tries to get Pryor to stay in the poscket. Brown encouraged Young to make plays with his feet. Very apples to oranges type of comparison.

Yeah but Ohio State has been using spread type plays since Pryor became the starter, and awhile ago Tressel announced they'll be trying to switch to the spread full time in the off season if it works out, with Michigan I really don't think he'd be putting up numbers, their offensive line is no where near good enough to protect him especially if he's moving out of the pocket and definitely if there's a blitz, maybe his junior or senior year when RR's scheme is more developed, but now, no.

As I, and the rest of the world says, if the opponents Defense is better than your Offense, you don't put up many points. If you fail to understand this I feel sorry for you, I really do.
What happens at different times of the season does not matter, whether you blow out a team or hardly manage to squeak by, Florida and Ole miss is a perfect example, teams don't always play at the same level all season.
OSU is the fourth most winning team the past eight years, 80.54 winning. That's not the past.
