  • Have a lot of congratulations for dooing this with a amateur orchestra.

    Takakunai, soredemo, totemo kireeeeeeeeeeeeiiii

    ich liebe es!<3

  • william hung meets shubert

  • the orchestra is VERY good .. very dynamic in its playing

  • The orchestra is amazing but this tenor is not made for the dark erlkönig...

  • This should definitely be sung by a bass/baritone, not a tenor. It's a dark lieder, the voice should match. Even for a tenor, this tenor has very limited resonance, and the tone is not nearly dark enough. His German is pretty good though, usually it's difficult for Asian speakers to do justice to germanic or romantic languages, germanic especially.

  • one Lied, two or more Lieder.

  • Thanks! :-) Sorry for being incorrect...

  • Learning is important :p

  • sehr gut!!

  • Voice is not strong. It is not appealing, neither.

  • Hm, I'd tend to agree there. Although his voice is intrinsically quite nice - can't fault the man for being a tenor - this song is more suited to a baritone, and as such, the soloist almost gets drowned out by the accompanying orchestra. IMO, Fischer-Dieskau is a much better representation of what the song should sound like.

  • I've noticed that about these Asian videos - often some unimpressive vocalist put in front of a good orchestra. Makes me kind of jealous.

  • Meine Hochachtung!

Glueckwunsch ! Eine sehr gelungene Einspielung.

  • Watashi wa Geruman desu!

  • his german is pretty good...

  • The voice is so good ^w^

  • The singer's voice is good, but apparently not strong enough to compliment Schubert's masterpiece. I'm a little disappointed.

  • Good job. jyouzu da to omou yo

  • Good job. jyouzu da to omou yo

  • this version is great! The asian flair to the vocals sounds really good. Very animated singer too. Well done!

  • this is awesome

  • very nice expressions

  • very nice i agree

  • Good tenor. Interpretation needs a little more freedom and dramatic zest.

  • Hoshina, have you played any Baroque pieces yet? I would like to hear some of your interpretations:D

  • its so touchy. thank you so much go sharing

  • I am very grateful for this video. It's one of the better renditions I've found!

  • I am using this performance as the model for mine come January. It is proving to be very useful and I am really grateful that this video is on the net.

  • A) He doesn't know what to do with his hands.

    B) Do Asian orchestras always look that uninterested? I would HATE to conduct such as that. It was technically exact, but there was no emotion at all...

  • why whats the age average...and yes good but dammit not GEFAHRLICH :)

  • But I like the way he did "Gewalt".

  • deeply flat, wheres the danger?...as for his accent its the nicest non-German German I have heard. Ganz schon and nice and clear.

    watch?v=VdhRYMY6IEc

    A fun contrast...

PS yeah whoever the racist asshole is FUCK OFF...

  • Take it a step further. Considering how rapidly classical music is losing its audience in the west, we shouldbe grateful that asians are turning to it so enthusiastically.

  • Very nice transcription for orchestra. Lovely singing.

  • I thought that the asian school of conducting -and playing- was more To the Point, searching for the inner meaning of a piece of music. A bit more aggressive maybe?

  • Very unusual to listen to this with such a light voice singing. Actually provides a nice contrast to the full orchestra so as not to be overwhelming but still have excitement.

  • This song is sooooooo Funnnn to play!!!! it makes me think of Michle Jackson every time Der Erlko:nig comes in. Touching little boys.

  • Come on! Stop bing so hard on the Nazi kid! He couldn't have prevented the incest that comes with eugenics. Just nod your head when he tells you that he comes from the moon and follows duck farmers. Oh and by the way, try to keep him away from sharp objects and things under the sink.

  • why? one less Nazi makes everyone happy!

  • stop that racism!!! i do admit that his German 's weird with his Japanese accent. But it doesn't mean that ONLY white people can play western music! one should be proud of one's own accent.

  • actually his accent is only marginal. he sings a very good german. as an azerbaijani you should shut up.

  • This song sounds much better when it's sung by a darker, deeper voice like a baritone or a mezzo.

  • Thank you for your comment. Usually the piece is performed by baritone, but still exciting even if it is sung by tenor! :)

This piece is performed as a part of the regular concert of an amateur orchestra with new arrangement, and the soloist is the friend of the conductor.

  • There aren't that many Japanese with such deep voices
