@electrokickassis right...whatever happened between now and then...no one knows for sure...these Greek MMA wannabes say themselves they brought back Pankration about 15 yrs ago. There isnt much info, and this comeback was based on scrolls and pictures...whos the dumbass...believe in fairy tails...bandwagon jumpers who cant fight for shit...basically it was like UFC is here, lets spin this...no one knows for sure what techniques were used...they went on looking at art...
@1sashenka ...what we have here is a missing link, if Pankration went on continuously from bc times til now, then I'd respect that, but no one practiced it and there were no master lines for the last...what...Im just gonna throw a number in there...2000 yrs. If I can throw a number, these wannabes can make shit up too, but at least they dont make those claims like you, so they dont look like idiots, what are you...a teenager full of shit information LOL
@1sashenka And what are you? A 30 year old who watches too much UFC? No, it wasn't continued for thousands of years in the way that it is now, but really what art was? We've been turning martial arts into sports for the past 200 years. They officially made it a sport fifteen years ago. The Greeks invented Wrestling and Boxing; Pankration is Wrestling and Boxing. Like I said, maybe it wasn't practiced exactly like it is now, but it was definitely around; probably just without a proper name.
@electrokickassis Im old enough to know that there was no Pankration 20 yrs ago and was nothing but a myth at that point.
This new club has these uniforms and rules. Seems to me it was all made up by this very club as there just wasnt enough information otherwise so everything started from ground up when UFC rolled around based on the idea of Greek/Roman olympic games Pacrase, and old scrolls described basic wrestling and boxing. Were you there? No, so shut the fuck up
Bill mentions his wrestling in every show lol he's fat and big enough to be in WWE. Annoying host. He may have some power an strength, but to support his juicebag demeanor and sell the show, he needs to brush up on his: accuracy, balance, coordination, agility, flexibility, speed, and indurance. Jason needs a new wingman, I would like to see more than one season of this.

two issues. first is that no one actually knows what all techniques were found in pankration, because these modern teachers got it all from pictures and paintings. second, it is not a "MIXED" martial art. it is a COMPLETE martial art, meaning it includes strikes, grappling and wrestling.
@xXpr3sXx Fedor in Sambo and MMA with Bas Rutton, Randy and Eddie Bravo and the little TWD Professor who KO'd Bill would beat them easy.IMO But Krag Maga is sick..
I love watching martial arts in action! That’s why I enjoy Kung Fu movies so much and got so excited when “Films of Fury” finally came out on demand. It had a bunch of great fight scenes and movie clips!
That fat football player acts a bit too tough for my liking. In reality if he trained with anyone his size at a decent gym (be it BJJ, Striking, or Wrestling) he would get owned and cry for his mommy.
They realize there was 7000 other greeks with the spartans at Thermopylae and its only famous because when the greeks fell back the spartans stayed and fought to the death for the greeks retreat.
@TheUprisingNinja According to the historical sources, the Spartans actually sent everyone but 700 Thespians away, and fought that final battle with just 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians.
Pankration was developed by alexander the great for his troops. The style was brought to other countries and adapted to suit the country's styles or needs.
It's sad nobody knows about this sport because if they continued that sport for more than 2000 years it would be well known like kickboxing or kung fu. but it's not sadly.
Jason should have been the one in the fight. I think it would have been a better fight then. Bill seems to throw out a lot of excuses when he does things wrong or loses. lame.
