ive seen wicked many times and Rachel Tucker blew my mind and i saw Idina and Kerry....she is just sensational her voice but also her acting was superb! big love for RT haha
I saw Rachel in January. The first time I'd ever seen the musical. I was literally blown away. She's got such a great voice and she a very talented actress. I wish I could have that opportunity.
Easily one of the best to have ever played the role, such an amazing command of her voice, such support and tilt! I saw the show in July with her after having ushered it over 100 times in Australia, had no desire to see it again but she made it seem like brand new! An Incredible performer with an incredible instrument, and thankgod an Elphaba who knows how to use it!
Rachel's brilliant during this scene. There were a few things she did that I wasn't crazy about, but I must say she has Defying Gravity nailed down. The best I've ever seen it live.
Um her final note was a little too much though, sounded like a burp
@s0undstrulycrazy I read your comment before I heard the climax part, so when she did her 'AHHH' bit it made me laugh out loud as it really did sound like a burp haha
@jcwelover Well, according to the WICKED London Facebook page, she has confirmed it on her blog. She says that the role is damaging her voice, and she's gonna give it up cos she's concerned that it'll be permanently damaged if she doesn't D:
@wickedexpert my god! poor rachel! but this role is sooooooo vocally demanding that damages the voice of a lot of the actresses who have played elphaba!
by the way could you tell me how can I see rachel tucker's blog? :) thanks!!!
@boyofletch Neither could I, but the page did confuse me a bit. I didn't get it first hand from her blog ... I read on the WICKED London Facebook page that she's leaving, and that this has been confirmed by her blog. :/
It was breathtaking!! The recording doesn't do it justice at all. The whole show was just incredible! The whole theatre (as far as I could see!) gave a standing ovation at the end. The cast looked completely overwhelmed and thrilled, Louise said 'You're amazing!' to the audience!
How did you manage to record this without being caught??

@jcwelover I knoooow ... it's such a shame! :( It's cos they have to belt, and belting isn't good for a voice apparently :(
Anyways! The only one I know about isn't actually her blog as such. But it's her official fan blog, and it's endorsed by her apparently :O
Anyway, Youtube isn't letting me copy and paste the link so just go on google and type in Rachel Tucker blog, and it's the first one that comes up :)
