hey! sooooo i made a track using this talking wobble as a breakdown for my Drum n Bass song. so if your interested in listening to it check it out! or dont, its all good either way!=D lol
hi there. thank you SO MUCH for this video. helped me a lot. in analog and simpler there is a "glide" function but operator doesnt have it. Is it possiple to get this function to operator somehow? thanks
@SportyNerdReviews play it lower on your controller keyboard. If you are using the computers keyboard to trigger the sounds, you have to use the "z" and "x" buttons to move the keyboard up and down the octave range.
@FasterThanLight1000 u could kind of EQ a bit of the high frequencies maybe... or just add a sub or another bass layer low enough to cover it, thats what i usually do with this "ultrathin" kind of wobbles
I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. They're extremely helpful and save a lot of time. keep them coming! I really appreciate everything you guys do for the music community. Your work is not going unseen.
Is it worth reading the manual, how many hours of dedicated reading would be required to become really familiar with the program? Btw how do you create a 'sample' from scratch?
how would you change the rate of the wobble other than turning the knob on the LFO? What im getting at is how would i make the frequency change if i were playing the wobble over a drum pattern?
In Ableton, after I have an instrument tweaked and I've combined the right effects can I recall the combination quickly or is my only option to create presets for the individual elements and assemble them again when i need to recreate the same
If you do set the LFO's rate to an envelope, it seems that you can only decrease the LFO's rate. Is there any way to increase the rate in the middle of a clip through an envelope or do you need to use a different method?
the problem bout this technique is, you always hear that its an operator/redux combo and it sounds kind of cheap... my tipp is, bounce the wobbles to audio and cut it up so it sounds more unique
DubSpot - Please Help: I'm not trying to disrespect or hate on you guys, but the sounds you are getting here aren't nearly as good as so many big producers' sounds that are out there. Skrillex uses a talking bass sound, but somehow his sounds GIGANTIC. There is no ringing while using the downsampling, and its so clear yet driven and dirty. Can you help to fix the issue of the ringing when using downsampling, and how to get bigger sub bass tones while having the dirty bite to it?
@acousticatch40ce add a saturater and change it to waveshaper thats what i add over all my wobbles to get that big producer sound, dont think so? try using other audio filters that ableton provides to get the sound you want. (:
More like these please. I love learning how to make really aggressive skrillex/datsik style dubstep bass using only Ableton live 8 suite. So any more tuts you make along those lines, you know you will have a least 1 person eating it up :)
is there a way to do this without using ableton, i run FLstudio and have been trying to get that digital sounding talk but all i get is the yug sounding talk.
Awesome vid guys! I have a request though... how does Rusko achieve that effect where you can almost hear as if the keys are being played on, like on a rhodes?
@HuckleberryGates Have u watched the tutorial he did, I think it was for Computer Music magazine, track called Rats in the kitchen? U can't hear it on the version that's on Youtube, probably to much compression. But that's what I mean.
@DubSpot I like a lot your tutorials. Thank you very much from Spain. I'd love to see how to make an incoming sound (instead of the operator) like a real bass or a guitar live, could be modified to make it sound deep, fat and bassy. Is it possible at all? Is it crazy? Thanks a lot anyway.. : )
@DubSpot How to create fat and lush pads, as there's not much videos here on YT on this topic (at least not specific in Massive). Most videos focus on basses and leads. Maybe showing the usage of pads in trance and dance music (Ferry Corsten, BT and William Orbit come to mind).
Another suggestion would be to explore instrument racks in Live (like combining Massive with Operator, doing crazy macro controls, etc).
Thanks again! Love your videos and am considering joining your online courses!
@1AMTH3ST1G you may need to make sure that you are playing in a lower octave, if you have a MIDI keyboard use the octave down button or if you are on the computer keyboard try pressing Z or X to go up or down.
Keep the tutorials coming! I'm learning so much from Dubspot. From Serato to Traktor to Ableton.. You guys have it all! We all in the music community appreciate what you're doing

@kilian yep, if you click on the pitch env section, there is a small g in the bottom right hand corner which turns on the glide function
