  • hey! sooooo i made a track using this talking wobble as a breakdown for my Drum n Bass song. so if your interested in listening to it check it out! or dont, its all good either way!=D lol

  • you can use different down sample effects and layer up your bass

  • I want the track that always plays at the dubspot introduction

  • ...possiple:)

  • hi there. thank you SO MUCH for this video. helped me a lot. in analog and simpler there is a "glide" function but operator doesnt have it. Is it possiple to get this function to operator somehow? thanks

  • @kilian yep, if you click on the pitch env section, there is a small g in the bottom right hand corner which turns on the glide function

  • do u have a mac or Pc? for ableton and does it run on pc??

  • @TheLolqwe its a mac you can tell by the mouse icon.

  • @TheLolqwe it runs on PC. I am using Windows 7 64-Bit with Ableton Live 8.2.2

  • beyond davinci

  • Can you suggest a MIDI Controller to purchase?

  • @Murkling APC 40 :)

  • Great Tutorial! i like how you show the effect of every parameter giving the learner options to be creative.

  • what program are u using to make dubstep

  • @runescaperoles this is ableton live suite

  • so now I have an amazing bass...I have the samples I want to use and I have a vision of what it should be...FUCK I hate my muse right now.

  • Its a great vid but whenever i do it sounds really high pitched and i did everything exactly

  • @SportyNerdReviews play it lower on your controller keyboard. If you are using the computers keyboard to trigger the sounds, you have to use the "z" and "x" buttons to move the keyboard up and down the octave range.

  • Why the fuck does my bit crusher always make this horrible ringing noise in the background?

  • @FasterThanLight1000 u could kind of EQ a bit of the high frequencies maybe... or just add a sub or another bass layer low enough to cover it, thats what i usually do with this "ultrathin" kind of wobbles

  • I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. They're extremely helpful and save a lot of time. keep them coming! I really appreciate everything you guys do for the music community. Your work is not going unseen.

  • great video! another easier way to get a really amazing talking bass is by using the 'snorz' tool, just search for it in ableton

  • great tutorial mate

  • how do you make it sound more dirty and growly. like an animal

  • I LOVE REDUX

  • "Also notice that you still have operators see indeed"

  • when ever i add operator i press play and i can only hear my kick and snare nothing else ,

    help ?

  • Is it worth reading the manual, how many hours of dedicated reading would be required to become really familiar with the program? Btw how do you create a 'sample' from scratch?

  • Really wished you would show where Redux was lol

    thanks for the vids tho

  • so u have a midi keyboard controller on which u play the notes?

  • What knobs would you recommend to map?

  • Paul Walker, is that you?

  • how would you change the rate of the wobble other than turning the knob on the LFO? What im getting at is how would i make the frequency change if i were playing the wobble over a drum pattern?

  • @bkvalumeal map the midi buttons, in the first wobble tutorial he posted he showed us how :)

  • I recommend to use LP Ladder Filter for this sound. is way less distorted.

  • how can I get rid off this distortion sound after adding the redux?

  • Hey can you post the link to the first operator video your reffering to?

    Greatly appreciated

  • how do i make a yeah?

  • How do i make it into a more of a Yoy sound?

  • @TheNinjassin Check out EmCFraktal and eArTrash youtube channels. They will help you in your search young jedi :)

  • @TheNinjassin Check out EmCFraktal and eARTrash on youtube, they will help you on the Yoy sounds

  • really good informative video.. cheers buddy!

  • for some reason im not getting the same sound as you got, i tuned everything to how it is and it still doesnt sound the same

  • cant find the video to get the original operator sound!

  • Hahaha I love the captionsXD Especially when it is talking about anuerismsXD!

  • Please answer me someone.

Which is easier to make dubstep songs?

    This program or FL Studio???

  • @exasy ABLETON!!!! FL studios is soooo retarded

  • Comment removed

  • Man you have the sickest tutorials. I am having such a good time learning to use Ableton right now.

  • In Ableton, after I have an instrument tweaked and I've combined the right effects can I recall the combination quickly or is my only option to create presets for the individual elements and assemble them again when i need to recreate the same

    sound in the future?

  • If you do set the LFO's rate to an envelope, it seems that you can only decrease the LFO's rate. Is there any way to increase the rate in the middle of a clip through an envelope or do you need to use a different method?

  • Just wanted to say this is, so far, the most hepful tutuorial I've come across yet.

  • cant find that first vid you were talking about. can u put upa link?

  • i love the song in the begining!

  • That is way cool

  • i cant figure out how to get the wobble from part 1 of your tutorial into operator?

  • where can we get the wobble sounds?

  • the problem bout this technique is, you always hear that its an operator/redux combo and it sounds kind of cheap... my tipp is, bounce the wobbles to audio and cut it up so it sounds more unique

  • @DallasGreen123 Color the crap out of it as well with phasers and reverbs.

  • This one sounds even better!

    thx again

  • 3:00 "Mucky" is my new favorite word.

  • You have an awesome tutorial voice.

  • It would be great if you could link the video you talked about in the begining.

  • <3

  • DubSpot - Please Help: I'm not trying to disrespect or hate on you guys, but the sounds you are getting here aren't nearly as good as so many big producers' sounds that are out there. Skrillex uses a talking bass sound, but somehow his sounds GIGANTIC. There is no ringing while using the downsampling, and its so clear yet driven and dirty. Can you help to fix the issue of the ringing when using downsampling, and how to get bigger sub bass tones while having the dirty bite to it?

  • @acousticatch40ce add a saturater and change it to waveshaper thats what i add over all my wobbles to get that big producer sound, dont think so? try using other audio filters that ableton provides to get the sound you want. (:

  • i kind of get this ringing noise in the background. whats am i doing wrong?

  • thank you so much for making this tutorial

    its fuckin awsome!

  • Great great tutorials!!

More like these please. I love learning how to make really aggressive skrillex/datsik style dubstep bass using only Ableton live 8 suite. So any more tuts you make along those lines, you know you will have a least 1 person eating it up :)

  • is there a way to do this without using ableton, i run FLstudio and have been trying to get that digital sounding talk but all i get is the yug sounding talk.

  • @grimejuggal0 Another way to make this sound is to use the VST plugin synth "native instruments Massave" and use the oscillator "modern talking".

Of course massive plugin works with all DAW

  • @ApoC552 yea i found my own way of doin it after i watched this vid. Thanks man

  • is there a dubspot in the l.a cali area iam really interested!!!

  • Closed captioning at the end,

    "within the jewish religion"

    WHAT THE FUCK?

  • is there anyway of recording an alternating wobbble so its not like all one paced

  • what program do you use to record the screen? I love the zoom ins on the different parts of the program.

  • @Geistsoul13 We use a screen capture program called IShowU, then edit videos in Final Cut Pro

  • @DubSpot Awesome. I've experimented with Camtasia Studios but it is not fitting my needs. Thank you so much!

  • Awesome vid guys! I have a request though... how does Rusko achieve that effect where you can almost hear as if the keys are being played on, like on a rhodes?

  • @drgonz1 What do you mean mate, can you give an example?

  • @HuckleberryGates Have u watched the tutorial he did, I think it was for Computer Music magazine, track called Rats in the kitchen? U can't hear it on the version that's on Youtube, probably to much compression. But that's what I mean.

  • Love the tutorial, love the channel, love dubstep! :)

  • operator or live?

  • @Fever655

    Live with operator.

  • First night of me having ableton demo and already youve held me get wobble bass and talking wobbles. I love you. lol.

  • Yay!

  • excellent vid

  • awesome vid, very helpful. i was entertained by the closed captions :) the wobble is interpreted as a voice

  • @SPxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxACE thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • this is so much easier than reading through ableton forums

  • very helpful video. Great job DubSpot! Keep them coming plz

  • @818L8 thanks! Let us know if there's any other tutorials you'd like to see!

  • @DubSpot

id be really interested in a resampling video. to get these basses sounding full and meaty :)

  • @DubSpot How do you do the WOMP sound found in alot of basslines?

  • @DubSpot I like a lot your tutorials. Thank you very much from Spain. I'd love to see how to make an incoming sound (instead of the operator) like a real bass or a guitar live, could be modified to make it sound deep, fat and bassy. Is it possible at all? Is it crazy? Thanks a lot anyway.. : )

  • Will dubspot ever expand to europe? Looks like you have a lot of fun over there :)

  • @petterselle We'd love to :) But for the meantime check out our online classes on dubspot.com

  • I wanting to go the classes you guys have for electronic music do you guys have housing for students ?

  • @EclipzDj no we don't, but there are a lot of options for student housing in Manhattan either from various universities or private organizations.

  • @mariano26788 we're working on doing some more Native Instruments stuff, we love Reaktor so we'll look into it.

  • @DubSpot Some Massive tutorials would be great too! Thanks for all the top notch tutorials! Great stuff!, guys! ;-)

  • @Auriculum we love Native Instruments stuff over here, Massive tutorials are a great idea. What would you like to see covered?

  • @DubSpot How to create fat and lush pads, as there's not much videos here on YT on this topic (at least not specific in Massive). Most videos focus on basses and leads. Maybe showing the usage of pads in trance and dance music (Ferry Corsten, BT and William Orbit come to mind).

Another suggestion would be to explore instrument racks in Live (like combining Massive with Operator, doing crazy macro controls, etc).

Thanks again! Love your videos and am considering joining your online courses!

  • Thank yu so much, this is so awesome!

  • How come mine just sounds like a high pitched squeal?

  • @1AMTH3ST1G you may need to make sure that you are playing in a lower octave, if you have a MIDI keyboard use the octave down button or if you are on the computer keyboard try pressing Z or X to go up or down.

  • Hey, thanks a million for this. Belter!

  • Keep the tutorials coming! I'm learning so much from Dubspot. From Serato to Traktor to Ableton.. You guys have it all! We all in the music community appreciate what you're doing

  • LA NEEDS A DUBSPOT!!

  • @lexdiamond we're working on it, hopefully in late 2011, watch dubspot.com for more news!

  • Damn i wish santa would pay tuition for a dubstep producer class!!! Solid work bruddahs!!!!

  • @BeauSun572 thanks! Check out our online courses as well at dubspot.com!

  • thank U once again!, DUBspot

  • @iAmFractalSky no doubt!!

  • Excellent breakdown. Really gives a good direction for people who want to experiment with the patch.

  • Nice..

  • awesome!!!

hope someday have a class like this here in brazil =p!!!

  • Very impressive! Thank you this tutorial!

  • @newcitybass - glad you dig!!

  • I'd say the "Soft" setting on redux makes for better fine tuning on a talking wobble bass.

  • @SubaruSumeragiX1999 indeed, it's definitely a matter of taste. Our idea with these tutorials is to give people a jumping off point to take these sounds and make their own.

  • thanx great tut

  • I love you guys's tutorial. thank you so much!

  • @GargoyleDubstep - you're welcome! hope they help..
