The first part should definetly be played more percussive and aggressive-it sounds weak the way you play it, but it's not bad.You have good taste and I'm sure you'll get even better.Just slow down those funk syncopations and get it tight and funky.

u myt not believe me, but i think he does it at 10th and 12th fret, and he uses a pick and has lots of dead notes on verse riff if  u listen carefully, but i like your style, uve got attitude with ur guitar playing, rare these days :)

you're prolly right about 10th and 12th fret judging from tabs, but i dont know what mean by dead notes. theres probably no string mute/scratch action going on because the bass fills in any spaces in the beat.
