This truck does not have a powerstroke of any variety in it, swapped in a well built cummins. And for christ's sake, Ford doesn't own any part of cummins, they had a small business venture sorta bailing them out by buying a portion of their stocks. Ford wasn't the only company that bought in either, Cummins was in the red at the time. They are going strong by themselves now.

The F-350 7.3 LT Power Stroke is an International engine. Not sure about the 6.0 LT in the newer F-350's. But thats a fast truck.

Cummins hands down makes the best diesels out there whether any of you want to believe that or not, you cant beat the good old inline 6, thats also how semis are too, ford can out pull any of the big 3 but there engines wont last as long as cummins, but ford also owns part of cummins ;)and chevy, i wouldnt ever own 1 in my life, i kno friends with new chevys, and they have more problems then i have ever seen....

That is a Cummins in that truck you idiot. That Richard Madsen's truck he was in Diesel Power Magazine for 2 months in a row. He runs an 1100 HP 12V Cummins with a Ford auto transmission.

Richard Madsen has been running and Cummins in that truck since 1999. If you read the article in Diesel Power you'd see. So for everyone that talks about "Cummapart" that's what's in it. Oh, if Cummins is so bad how come it's the only engine besides Cat offered for the new F-650/750 where is Powerstroke there. Is it not worthy of Medium duty.

I don't think any of the diesels found in the pickups are worthy of going in a Med. Duty truck. They should let Cat, Cummins, and Detroit handle all that bigger shit.

It is in fact the same 6.7L B series engine with a bit less HP and a lot more grunt. Check out the F-650/750 on Ford's website. The Cat nudges the tq. output numbers but it's a 7.3L inline six. I like Ford trucks, but they don't have a diesel that can compete yet. I'd like to see them drop Navistar and do their own thing. Oh, by the way Merry Christmas to all.

Looking at them coming up to the starting line, I would have guessed the truck either losing or tying with the car... But, even with a .2 second head start that truck wiped that car out. That's an amazing truck... Weather it's a Ford, Chevy, or dodge, with a Cumins, Powerstroke, or Duramax it doesn't matter. It's an impressive truck that could kick the crap out of just about any other truck, and many cars as well! (As you just saw...)

Your right. Powerstrokes may sell more but that probably isn't going to last much longer with the new 6.4 already having issues(flames coming out of exhaust) and with the cummins popularity increasing. Plus the issues they have had with the 6.0 If Ford was really smart they would go with a I6 engine instead of the V8 for more torque. In reality Ford, Chevy and Dodge all make great trucks. Kinda comes down to preferance. Just my 2 cents...
