Air India is notorious for bad service. Air India is a typical government-run institution ! I had a political science professor in college who came to the U.S. from Calcutta and even he wouldn't fly Air India when he wanted to go back to visit family and friends in India.

Was at ORD one time, flying to LHR, next gate over was flight to DEL, (Both AA flights) they (DEL) are 10 min past departure time and everyone's getting antsy why they haven't boarded. Then about 15 Chicago Police show up in front of the gate. The gate agents announce the flight is cancelled for mechanical reasons. Those 15 cops had to call for back up because those Indian psychos tried to mob the gate, my gate agent told me they only have to do this for flights to India, guess AI isnt thereyet

Do not fly with this airline!! I am telling you seriously stay clear of this lot they are pathetic and this is what they do when there is a crisis. I was stranded in Amritsar due to volcanic ash and AI cancelled my tickets and then they treated me really badly in person and demanded more cash. I saw the staff try to take money from stranded passengers and exploit their misfortune to the max! Do not fly with this airline it is the worst experience I have had or ever will have. Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!
