  • very beautifull do you know where I can find the music for bassoon & piano?

  • this is such a beautiful composition

  • The bassoonist is good, the speed in the 1st mvt is just a little too fast for my taste.

  • go spend 5 dollars on itunes and download this whole concerto and listen to judy leclaire play this bad boy... sounds sooo pretty

  • I agree with jnskthy1. Have you heard her play it?

  • It sounds good, I would have suggested getting Ms. LeClaire's version, since it is HER concerto, and studying it for ideas!

  • *envious*

  • Holy Crap Thats Auer Hall at the Indiana University Jacobs School Of Music...WAY TO GO!

  • I love this piece.. piano reduction is *awful*, though.

  • sounds very rushed at the beginning, i played all 5 mvmts for my exit exam at USC good work though, this solo is UNBELIEVABLY hard

  • amazing performance!

  • So how did you do at the competition? I love this piece and wanted to use it for competition, but I dunno how the judges would feel about it since its more modern.

I think you played really well. =D the only thing i think you could really add to the piece would be to take your time on the cadenzas of the first movement and really play out more there. who do you study with?

    great performance!

  • Wow, jealous much?

  • wow ya def jealous! and ps: IU has one of the most celebrated and recognized music schools in the country.

  • spinsmysmack, please post a video of something you're playing and post the link below. You better be the fucking Hilary Hahn of whatever instrument you play because you're very arrogant. Unless your playing is out of this world, I seriously doubt you're going to make it with the personality you have. Look forward to seeing the video.

  • i like ur piece...

  • Are you aware that that is a bassoon?/? Why are you standing!?

  • Its called a neck strap. The greatest performers use them :)

  • I feel old fashioned...it seems that neckstraps are more for a saxophone.

  • So many people fuss about weird things... but then again I hate people playing The Seasons by Vivaldi on Guitars..

  • Eh, not really fussing. I just like that us bassoonists have the seat strap, our own unique support system.

  • i play the bassoon, and trust me it makes it ALOT easier to hold them, as they're rely heavy and its alot of weight to take!!

  • most bassoon soloists tend to use neckstraps.

of course, they'll switch back to seat straps in ensembles or orchestras.

  • Not me. I always solo with a seat strap. The neckstrap negatively affects the comfortable reach of low notes for me.

  • i use a saxophone harness and thats what most proffesional bassoonist, atleast around here, use for standing. i think it works great but i always prefer the seat strap now.

  • they dont use neck straps they use harnesses it takes the pressure off the neck and is much easiar

  • Same shit. Different pile.

  • I use a neckstrap with my balance hanger and it's fine.

  • Hey! it's Jonathan. I enjoyed your piece! Your right, it does sound quite unique. You played it great though.
