@jozer2d2 I admit I loved the Henry/Pirés era, especially with David Seaman in goal (We're nowhere near the same goalkeeping level while we have Almunia), but I really liked Arsenal while it was going through the Reyes/Van Persie/Fabregas run a bit later on. I'm sure Arsenal with it's current squad though will to fantastically well as they improve with experience
He's left in 2006 and in those 4 years he flopped at Real Madrid(although he did score the two goals that won them the title),flopped at Athletico Madrid for 2 years & then spent a year on loan playing for benfica where he did well and he's back at Athletico Madrid and is playing well.

I still think Real and Barça are way above all that, but I reckon FCP and SLB would finish 5th/6th in England, 4th/5th in Spain and 5th/6th in Italy. Braga is a better side than Portsmouth, most teams in Portugal deffend way better than the last half of the English Premier League. The french league is better than portuguese. Benfica, porto and sporting would maybe stay above relegation in the premiership but I don't think they could ever chase for europeann places. I do like the skill in the portuguese game but I think that league is just a stepping stone for the rest of europe.

Aragones was caught on audio calling Thierry Henry a black shit, while speaking with Reyes, trying to motivate him for a game against France. Now the Spanish FA didn't do anything until it was pressured to take some action quite later on. It would've been very difficult for Reyes who was 19 or someting at the time to stand up against Aragones for what he did. While Aragones remained as the Spanish coach, Reyes had to go back to an Arsenal dressing room filled with a lot of black players.

Also, I think that only 4 teams in the premiership are better than Porto and Benfica. If you check every direct confrontation between those two and teams like Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal in the last few years, it has been a close contest with victories from both portuguese sides.. I still think Real and Barça are way above all that, but I reckon FCP and SLB would finish 5th/6th in England, 4th/5th in Spain and 5th/6th in Italy. People just don't acquaint FCP and SLB's quality...

sorry to differ dirtyarse, reyes is far from useless, he is playing absolutely fantastic for Benfica along with Pablo Aimar and David Suazo. Currently 1st in the portuguese league. I suggest u go watch his goal against Sporting Benfica's biggest rival)recently and tell me how useless he got ^^

Yes but why could he not play well suddenly? He was playing very well with arsenal but then as soon as that famous prank call became public he has been useless. I really liked reyes and thought he was going to be brilliant.
I wouldn't call playing well in the portuguese league great... That league is pretty useless in general.

Well, it's because of people thinking like that, that everyone was so surprised by Braga beating Portsmouth 3-0. Braga is a better side than Portsmouth, most teams in Portugal deffend way better than the last half of the English Premier League. Certainly not at the same level as the top 3 leagues in Europe (Spanish, Italian and English), the Portuguese League is one of the following 3/4 leagues and despite its wreckful organisation and refereeing, it does have pretty good teams and players in it

The french league is better than portuguese. Benfica, porto and sporting would maybe stay above relegation in the premiership but I don't think they could ever chase for europeann places. I do like the skill in the portuguese game but I think that league is just a stepping stone for the rest of europe.
