Netscape rocked. Mozilla.org STILL ROCKS with the best browser and email. I worked there from 1995 to 2002 and it was the ride of a lifetime.
Netscape deserves credit for accelerating the Internet into the importance it has in today's world. It worked because the engineers drove the development, not managers. AOL bought us (our desperate reaction to illegal competition from Microsoft) and that sucked, but we still reinvented ourselves as open source: Mozilla.org
